Little Steps is awesome! My 2-year-old has been seeing a pediatric physical therapist there. When…read morehe started therapy, my son had a lot of trouble walking independently and issues with other motor skills. He has come a long way since we began working with Little Steps, though. Now he can't stop racing his older brother around the house. Additionally, their facility in North Shore is conveniently located and staffed with warm and welcoming faces. Thank you to everyone at Little Steps for always making therapy a positive experience. We all know kids usually hate going to doctors, but mine loves the therapists at Little Steps. Their kindness and compassion make a potentially dreaded appointment enjoyable instead. If you're looking for a pediatric therapy provider that your kids love, this is the place for you. We are so happy we picked Little Steps to help with our son's needs. It is truly important to find the right pediatric therapists at such a young age since these are the critical years in any child's development. Thank you, Little Steps!

Would NOT recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a professional, communicative practice…read moreto work with their children. Since his evaluation, my son has had 3 different therapists, which no one at the practice informed me of until the day of. It was not communicated who would be his ongoing therapist at any point. I had to ask multiple times who his therapist was. After only a few weeks, his therapist went on medical leave for a month (she is still not back), and there was no one for my son to work with while she was gone. You would think an occupational therapy practice would do the bare minimum and assign someone else to work with their child clients while their therapist was gone. I am a therapist myself and cannot believe how unprofessional they are. So disappointed and angry at how my son has been treated there. Do NOT send your child here.

When our then just turned one girl began at NSPT in April, she wasn't walking and barely rolling…read moreover. She was refusing the appropriate table foods, and mainly bottle fed. Thanks to her physical therapist, via both weekly office visits and get suggested at home routine, by August, she was up and walking. It is now six months later, and we can barely catch her when she takes off. We've gotten detailed progress reports all along the way. As for the feeding, the therapy was invaluable in terms of types of foods, tricks, and techniques. We have since discontinued the feeding therapy, as after the first few months, what we learned has been effective and she has been eating the appropriate foods, and it now depends on her tastes. Personal relationships were built between she and both therapists. Her big sister, who's always along for the ride seems to know the whole crew as well. One thing that I've noticed that some people don't get is that these are therapists, each with an area of expertise. This being said, they are not physicians. They can offer insight and advice regarding your child's progress, but they are not licensed to provide a medical diagnosis. Further concerns should be addressed with your pediatrician. If there's one blemish, it's the parking situation. They share a fairly small parking lot with other offices in the building. While their is some street parking, when you're lugging in one or more children and infants, and the associated supplies, it's quite a pain. It's too bad, as right behind the office is the parking lot for something (auto shop?) that's always vacant, but parking there is prohibited. That part is by no means NSPT's fault, but it's too bad that they can't buy out a portion of that lot.

Literally because we wanted to reduce hours for the benefit of my son they told us we would be "discharged". This was after frequent SIB and a neurologist suggesting to cut hours. This is after giving them over 7,000 dollars. They refused to work with us or even try to reduce hours! Also BCBA came here on Fridays for a hour and did nothing but try to push hours and talk. She was supposed to be helping us with daily living skills and she did none of that. We wasted about 8 or 9 months there and lots of $$. Stay away from Karen the BCBA and this whole place. They care about money not what is best for the child

They also pressure you to schedule back to back therapy appointments to fit their schedule, which seems dangerous to me. It doesn't allow for rest days in between appointments. Despite my informing them of pain from a previous appointment (the day before due to thier back to back booking), I was pushed by my therapist to do the same uncomfortable exercises that I told her caused pain the day before. The PT here is very aggressive! I wish I had listened to my intuition then, but I thought they knew better than me, and that I should just push through the pain. Unfortunately, in my case, this pushing from my PT along with the inadequate supervision of most of my exercises in my appointment, led to not only an aggravation of my initial injury along with a completely new injury. I could barely walk after my appointment at Ivy Rehab. An MRI after this appointment happened showed a completely new severe tear of the meniscus my previously uninjured leg. My advice to patients who choose this practice would be to be very cautious, and listen carefully to your body. If you have pain after an appointment, please take the time to take care of yourself first. Don't let them pressure you to do exercises that hurt or when you are in pain.
