The name on Google maps and the store front is Noodles & Boba. I meant to order takeout, but got caught in a rainstorm, so I dined in for a delicious meal. I ordered the Spring Rolls with Tofu and the Pho Chay. The portions did not disappoint! The flavors were also excellent, and I loved the dipping sauce that came with my Spring Rolls. The pho really hit the spot, with its light, yet flavorful broth and fresh ingredients. Quality food, nice options for Vegans and Vegetarians, clean dining room and facilities, and nicely decorated. It's been a while since I've been here, and a few things have changed. They took out the fish tanks, which used to be the only real drawback of going here. More elbow room and less fishy smell. They updated the menus to fit on two pages. There is only one size bowl now. And updated prices. 2 everythings are about $30. More expensive, but still really tasty. One new drawback now is ordering at the register. I guess that's gotten popular everywhere, but seems like pointlessly following a trend when ordering worked just fine the old way. And a ding on service. One of the staff asked us if we wanted waters, then never brought them. Sort of a bad compromise between the old full-service dining and the new post-covid way of being "efficient" with fewer staff. Some of the competition on this side of town has gone away over the past couple of years, so this is still my favorite for the area. But there are definitely a couple of 5 star options available if you're near Southside. read more

My Door Dash experience usually takes much longer than most. I go from the DD app to my YELP app because I need to do my research always. I had them book marked so I didn't have to do much before I started my order. The Fresh Shrimp Spring-roll with the peanut sauce is something I will order alone (two orders) at every Vietnamese restaurant! The rice paper didn't stay together, the peanut sauce didn't soothe me, the crab ragons were the worst I've ever seen so you know they tasted the worst as well, the spring rolls were alright but I don't remember the taste because I only took a bite and I didn't even eat the steamed potstickers. I don't see the same people who have been working there, so I'm assuming there was a change in ownership. Reason why I'm giving the 2 star is the price and flavor. Very casual family run restaurant serving Vietnamese fare in a comfortable setting. We enjoyed spring rolls stuffed with shrimp and pork that were larger than what we are used to seeing in big city spots and phò with mixed cuts of beef in a flavorful and aromatic broth with vermicelli noodles with cilantro, basil, alfalfa sprouts and jalapeños to add some heat. All in all a nice experience with personal service from the proprietor to answer any questions about the menu. Out of the 40 or so times I've been here, the food NEVER came out like this, and I'm severely disappointed. Service was confusing, and the restaurant itself on the inside looked a bit beat up. This House Deluxe Vermicelli platter should've come with Beef, Chicken, and Shrimp, and this had pork on it. The egg roll and the noodles themselves seem like the only thing that was right on it. A small and simple cafe with delicious goodies. Located off to the side of Blanding Blvd and blocked by Red Lobster and other big name chain restaurant, this cafe serves pretty good pho, but also other delicious delicacies like dim sum. Dim sum is pretty new to the menu though. According to one of the servers, they've only added the dim sum menu for about a month. Served only on Sundays, it's a small selection but they are some of the popular dim sum dishes like beef soup dumplings. My favorite thing to get at any dim sum place is chicken feet. These were perfectly cooked, fall off the bone and flavored with hints of star anise, coriander, and other herbs to balance out but not overpower your tastebuds. If you're not into dim sum, of course they have pho but they do also have other goodies like fried rice, stir fry udon and a great selection of appetizers. read more

It's a cute little restaurant, but it's a bit small, approximately 10 tables maximum. I go here every now and then as it's my fiancé's family's favorite restaurant. It seems, in recent times, they've expanded their menu with a few extra selections. My dish was the pork chop and egg with steamed rice. The pho was great and the toppings were plentiful. It was inconvient that the bowl wasn't big enough to hold all of the broth and toppings though. I ordered the mango boba but with popping bubbles and i got both tapioca pearls and popping bubbles in the my drink. I don't like the regular boba so i guess there should be a clearer description when ordering if you order the popping bubbles then it was still have tapioca balls. This is my first one star review for a pho restaurant. It seems to be run by an Indian family not a Vietnamese family. I paid 30 dollars for a plate of steamed dumplings, a bowl of steak pho and a Taro boba. The guy brought out the dumplings then the bowl of pho . Then after 5 min he finally brought out the sprouts and lime. Last time I was here they gave me cabbage instead of sprouts so at least this time they gave me sprouts. From that I narrowed down my selection to the curry shrimp noodles. The restaurant is not much to look at. No fancy decor just a few tables and chairs. What it lacks in visual appeal it definitely makes up for in taste. The curry noodles were pretty good. Full of flavor and cooked perfectly. My daughter and I came in from out-of-town. We used to live in Orange Park and would frequent this restaurant often (all four of my children and I). Every one of us loved the food here. Upon entering, I was surprised that clients can no longer sit down and a server come to the table and take the order. They have a touch screen menu instead. There were two people in front of us at this touch screen trying to order (they weren't together). One was an elderly man who was having difficulty ordering. Another was a man, who had a question and asked someone who happened to walk up to the side counter to request a drink refill. That man stated that he doesn't work here. When my daughter and I went to order, we had questions, even though my whole family has been dining here for at least 8 years. My daughter is vegetarian and the touch screen didn't have vegetarian options (unless we didn't see it on this screen). There was nobody to ask except a server (and I use that term loosely) to "stop her" as she was returning from delivering a plate of food to another customer. She didn't know the answer to the question and it seemed language was a barrier in communication. She didn't get someone else to help but walked away. Another employee was walking by and we asked about vegetarian options. She was pleasant and answered. As soon as she left we had another question about how to order water. She said they could bring it to our table. I still wonder how to order drinks. Then the screen asked for a tip. I was confused why we are supposed to tip when we are placing our own order on a touch-screen, mostly no help as needed, no personal interaction except for us "stopping" employees as they are going to and from other tables, not being able to be seated until we stand in line and place an order, no option to choose for mild, medium, or spicy curry as in times past, no server refilling drinks or asking if the food is okay, and nobody offering carry-out boxes for leftovers upon us finishing our meals. We were on our own for everything. The only time there would be human interaction is when an employee brings the food to the table (except for us interrupting employees delivering food). Nobody is standing at the counter like they used to, either. I frequent WaWa and have no issue placing my order on the touch screen because this is, after all, only a convenience store and this a how it's been always. Lil Saigon is a restaurant. It used to be considered a hidden gem in my opinion. What happened to this place? The vegetarian shrimp curry and chicken curry was good but not spicy enough. Hmmm, it would have been nice to be able to specify the spiciness. The spring roll with shrimp was not good. It mostly was a pile of iceberg lettuce at a cost of $6.95. There was a sauce on the table that my daughter and I both tried. Not to be rude, but it smelled like a dirty butt. (I'm a nurse). The restaurant always has a dirty, musty smell. I've overlooked that part for years because the food is so good (except for the spring rolls). The bathroom lighting was very dim. It would be hard to see if anything was on the toilet seat. I've been missing out. This place is like 10 minutes from my house and only recently I've found the time and opportunity to venture to Little Saigon Cafe. It's been in my bookmarks for months, and I've heard such great things about the food (mom swears by this place), so I finally cleared my schedule this past Sunday and, along with family friend in tow, mom and I made our way to her favorite Pho joint. Atmosphere: Divey, but that quaint, family-owned, welcoming vibe divey. 6...maybe 7 tables at the most, but we got there between 2 and 3 in the afternoon, so there wasn't a wait. Food: For starters, mom ordered the spring roll and I ordered the fried dumplings. The two spring rolls (with peanut sauce on the side) were not only huge, but super-fresh, according to mom. She says "They don't fill with too much noodles...alot of shrimp and veggies...I like it!" She gets these everytime she comes here, so that says alot. As for my fried dumplings (pork with veggies), they give you 4 and they're also super-fresh and hot. I don't know what's in the "brown sauce" besides soy sauce, but whatever it is, it's great to dip the dumplings in. The seasoning in the meat mixture is quite tasty as well. Entree: Me: Pho with Beef Steak and Meatballs (#11) Mom: House Deluxe Pho (#14 with Rare Beef Steak, Flank, Brisket and Tripe) Family Friend: Pan Fried Noodles with Chicken Honestly...it was one of the BEST bowls of Pho-Shizzle goodness I've ever had. Very very VERY on par with the Pho joints back in Hawaii...and I've had some PHO. The broth was truly legit...not too subtle, not too overpowering. Juuuuuuuust the right kick to complement all the tasty meats and veggies. The meat alone was plentiful...they aren't scrooges, thankfully, and the noodles were equally delicious. Mom totally scarfed down her soup (after she dumped a whole plate of bean sprouts and cilantro in), and when she was full and satisfied, there was plenty left over to take home for that evening's dinner. Family friend couldn't get enough of her dish, considering it was made with her favorite noodles, chow fun, which are the wide variety. "It's hard to find places that serve really good chow fun!" she exclaimed excitedly. I got to sample some of it and she was right...lots of chicken, and the sauce wasn't salty or greasy as you would often find elsewhere. Service: From the second we walked in we were greeted like family and treated as such throughout the meal. The drink refills were plentiful and the smiles were welcoming. Can't ask for much more than that. In Closing: This is a family-owned local business, and if you're craving THE STUFF when it come to Asian fare (they have ALOTTTTT more than just Pho and noodle dishes to tempt your tastebuds), I'd say this is the place to try....and...like many others I HAVE to agree...hands down Little Saigon Cafe is better than Bowl of Pho. :) read more

So I wanted to give other Vietnamese places a chance to once again see if any of them beat Nudo and gotta say Little Saigon....you won some and you lost some. First off, the good. Flavor explosion. It's intense what they can do. My basic understanding of the grilled meats marinade is sugar + fish sauce, but there's muchhhh more going on with Saigon's marinade. Also, most places give you a fish sauce based dipping sauce mixed with garlic and some peppers for heat, so naturally the dipping sauce is just a flavorful fish sauce. Not here; the dang dipping sauce is a flavor bomb too. I was pouring that liquid gold over everything. This place wins with flavor. So what could possibly be the bad? This part could be considered subjective but the grilled pork is very fatty. Now, I like pork with fat like the next guy, the crispy charred rendered fat is where the flavor is concentrated. But when a piece is 50% fat hanging off when it could've been 100% marbled pork; yeah, I get slightly disappointed. Another negative was the side of shredded pork skin. I'm glad I got something with my meal in addition to that banging sauce and rice (plus amazing pickled veggies) but I'm just not used to the texture of it; turns into sand in your mouth and it's the same at my beloved Nudo so I guess I'm just not a shredded pork skin guy. I won't take a star off for a free side that ultimately didn't take away from my experience. If this place wasn't far from me and didn't cost an arm for delivery (through the delivery apps), then I'd definitely eat from there more often. All in all, there's a high chance it could become your favorite and if you're one of the lucky people who live close enough to it, then I envy you. Okay.... honestly, this is difficult for me to write. If you're looking for a clean... space to walk into this is not it. How the board of health doesn't close it down to clean it up confuses me. It needs a good cleaning, starting with the spongy floor, to the walls, and get into the kitchen. Honestly, I didn't see the kitchen my lunch date did when he went to pay the check... and said it's a good thing you didn't see the kitchen you would have left before ordering.
