I walked past Little Red Cup for 4months without even batting an eyelid until last week when I was in the area and on the verge of being hangry.
Formally Dida's, Little Red Cup have halved the cabinet space and doubled the seating (smart move), which means it's now a pretty good spot for groups. What is left of the cabinet is filled with delicious (and rather huge) sangas, wraps and savoury pastries. There is also a fair number of good-looking sweat treats.
For my first visit, I played it safe and ordered the vegetarian sandwich, which they ever so kindly toasted for me. As far as sandwiches go, i've gotta say this one was pretty up there - layer upon layer of thinly sliced, grilled vege, just the right amount of cheese and creamy mayo, all in between two think slices of focaccia AND given it's size, I thought it was a steal at $8.
The decor, on the other hand, is a bit predictable - exposed light filaments, pictures frames randomly placed on a feature wall - but what really got me was the slide show picture frame on the counter of menu items. I don't know why these rub me the wrong way so much but they do. Perhaps a weee bit tacky...
Anyway, this certainly won't stop me from going back. After all, a good sanga can be hard to find! read more
