If I could do Zero stars I would! Worst customer service ever! I was a first time customer and I was intrigued by the old Pittsburg pictures on the wall. I tried to get the owns attention to make friendly conversation and was completely ignored three times. I was literally the ONLY person in the store. He was scrolling on his phone facing me and literally ignored my question that i asked three times because maybe he didn't know I was talking to him. He didn't even look up from his phone and nodded to my question. So rude. Then to start counting money in my face like that was more important than his ONLY customer. Then not to mention the food was trash. I got a salad and they did that wrong and the chicken was DRY. like if you have horrible customer service make sure your food is great. Because now I definitely have no reason to come back! read more

This place is pretty good however it leaves you feeling smarmy. It is basically filthy. The owner uses his bare hands to prepare the food among other things. The decor is most unappealing - like being in a dirty, ill-decorated man cave. I asked for a rare sandwich and I got well-done. No pink whatsoever in the tri-tip as I ordered. read more

I would give this place 4 stars if it didn't take so long! If I'm getting a sandwich, fries, and coke, I shouldn't have to wait over 20 minutes. Little J's is one of the few places in this part of Pittsburg that's not a fast food chain. It's not a chain, and it's not fast. It's about $7.50 for a sandwich, fries, and soda and great when you're in the mood for something greasy-but-good. I used to live across the street from Little J's and let me tell you...I miss it. Can't find a good food in Manteca to save my life. I treated myself to a tri-tip basket every Monday (to take away the Monday blues) and it was always delicious. The staff and owner were always kind and professional and the quality was fantastic. So I ordered the shrimp, fish, and chips combo with garlic fries as my sides. Mmm yummy right?? NO! I was charged a little over $11 bucks for 2 battered pieces of fish that tasted EXACTLY like caption John's fish from the frozen food ailse at the store, with store brought butterfly shrimp, and fries topped with NOT FRESH,BUT JARRED tangy minced garlic. Like are you FREAKING KIDDING ME? Furthermore, my advice is to save yourself some cash, go to the store and purchase your own frozen foods to pop in the oven and you'll get more for your dollars. read more

Well, my husband and I were impressed with the current reviews so we decided to try it this evening. In a nutshell-mediocre at best!!! The tables were sticky with grease (I checked several in curiosity) and need a good wash with hot water AND soap. The ketchup and mustard bottles and S&P shakers were also greasy and had dried stuff on the outside. In a word, the entire place looked a bit grungy. My husband's cheese burger and fries basket was not even average-the meat was dry and very well done. My Tri Tip Sandwich was a surprise-the meat was warm, a chalky grey color and a bit "mushy". Mushy is the word for meat that has been soaking in meat tenderizer much too long. The grey meat was probably in the fridge and just warmed in a microwave as there was absolutely no evidence of grill or BBQ preparation, and no flavor at all. The fries were OK. I should say that I was a waitress for 6 years getting thru Berkeley and worked in several excellent restaurants so my standards may be a bit high. However, grungy, mediocre and grey meat are the best words to describe this place. We won't be back. read more

It's hard to give restaurant 5 star but these guys deserve every star, customer service is fantastic and food is superb. Ordered lunch for client's office, Tri tip is to die for LOL, so delicious, we had burgers and of course it's super juice and flavorful and we had couple vegetarians that very much enjoyed their meatless option that Little J's offered. I'm visiting Pittsburg from the East Coast to clean out my deceased father's storage unit. We checked Yelp for a local place to eat a late lunch. The reviews don't lie. The food was really good. My burger was cooked to perfection. The lettuce and tomato were fresh. The fries were not too salty. My mother ordered coleslaw instead of fries. It was tasty. Everything in the coleslaw tasted fresh and you can tell they made it today. My brother ordered the tri-tip sandwich. He is a man of few words but said he will be back tomorrow. read more

I visited this place for the first time ever yesterday. And let me tell you it was certainly worth the visit. I ordered their House Sandwich! The sliced sourdough bread was toasted and spread with horse radish sauce on each slice. In the middle were strips of well done Tri-tip and melted pepper jack cheese. I enjoyed the sandwich so much that I went back today for lunch and ordered the exact same thing with a side of "Frings" a mix of their onion rings and fries. Delicious!!!! The staff make you feel welcome and can make excellent suggestions if you ask. The prices are also very fair considering their portion sizes! Driving by this place you'd probably miss it because it's so small but definitely a MUST the next time your in the area or in the mood for some good old fashioned diner food! read more

The main guy (Aaron) is a GREAT worker at this restaurant! Whenever I have big family parties or in need of catering for banquets, Little J's is definitely the place I always go! Their Champagne Chicken (to die for!) It's so good! The red skin potatoes, pesto pasta, you name it, they have it! For a reasonable price too. Not only is their catering great, but their burgers are amazing, definitely not like other burger places around. Well al'righty then. This places Tri-tip sandwich is good enough to make you punch your best friend and ask them, why haven't they told you about this place before now. And don't ever care that it's their first time being there too. Sandwich bread is nice and soft. Meat has a flavor you taste in every single bite.
