We attended the "animal talk" with guests LLC Reptile this month and the employee refused to use a microphone for over half an hour because he legit said "he's never used one before and didn't know how it worked" and with way too many kids and parents packed in that room, you couldn't hear anything. Library employees let it get out of hand, let children stand up so everyone behind them couldn't see and just couldn't control the noise level. It wasn't a fun experience and my kids begged to go half way through because it was just talking and barely any interaction. This is just feedback that you can hopefully take to improve on your next event. PLEASE think about passing out tickets (like the other locations) to control how many people can enter. We were there waiting 30 minutes prior, reading inside and we were almost the last ones in because we didn't know a mob had already formed blocking the entire entrance. The sad part was your entire parking lot was packed and vehicles were parked up and down the street for this event and all I heard were kids and parents complaining that they couldn't see/hear anything. We've also been to a craft day where because we sat at a back table, they ran out of the craft before they got to us which is strange since there weren't that many people there. Again, think about being more prepared or just limit how many people can join an event so everyone can have fun and feel included.

Excellent selection of books, CDs, DVDs, and all kinds of other interesting things to borrow. They're VERY generous with their return date policies, too. Staff empties the return box often, with a quick return of materials to the correct racks, without issues. A VERY relaxing and nice place to cool off at, ESPECIALLY during the HOT summer season. Great programs for the entire family to participate in, too. There's a new Children's Center expansion building under construction on the north side of the main building underway, opening sometime in the Fall. The BIG Veteran's Park to the east is perfect for fresh air and exercise, with the most BEAUTIFUL patch of green grass I've ever seen, and a HUGE, open view of the Temecula Valley skyline. They have computers too with simple games for them to play. The adult sections has computers as well, and a great selection of books. It was a very busy place, on a hot day, with many, many patrons studying, reading, hanging out. It is one branch of the vast 35-branch Riverside County Public Library system. Ample parking, the parking slips butt up against a thoughtfully designed walkway with signage telling you about the history of Temecula. Once inside the library, there is a beautiful mosaic-mural depicting sea-to-outer space, perhaps a nod to what all is in store for the curious patron. The Children's Area is decorated with dozens of stuffed animals atop the book cases. There are painting on the walls. Lots of visual stimulation. But, if you need some calm, further in the library, there is a whole window wall with comfortable seating overlooking a vast valley. Almost every shelf had an intriguing book on display front facing. Books that my library in San Diego does not own...yet. If it weren't so far from my home, I would get a library card (yes, with a CA id, this is possible, and free), and check out some of those great books.
