Vegan options! This place always has about 2 vegan cupcake options on hand. Nice dessert option after dinner or after watching a movie in the same complex. My non-vegan mother also enjoyed the non-vegan options.
The cupcakes flavors are different and you'll find a flavor you like - there is everything from fruit to chocolate and even seasonal pumpkin. Little Cakes even has some specialty flavors online you can order in advance (like French Pear tarte and Linzer). Unfortunately, they were out of the Almond Champagne one the last time I went. That one is the flavor that first brought me here! Cupcakes are good - moist, flavorful, good size. The drunken pumpkin (delicious pumpkin cake with rum! and chocolate, caramel and cinnamon on top) . It was definitely was my favorite. The vanilla was my least favorite. The vanilla cake was fine but the frosting was flavorless and hard. I always get a vanilla cupcake since It is easy to compare to other bakeries. I would say every other vanilla cupcake I have had elsewhere was better! Service was so-so, the person was busy and didn't really offer any positive interaction. Also, if you see a lot of cupcakes in the back - you can only order the ones in the three main cake stands. Those are the only ones available!
I ordered my wedding cake here-biggest mistake ever. The cake I just picked up looks nothing like the almond cake they have on their website. The roses and font are sloppy. The picture online had edible pearls on it. Absolutely disappointing cake. Do not make the same mistake as me.
I've been here a few times and all of the cupcakes we tried were amazing! I guess I just know which flavors will be good. I've gotten the one that won the Cupcake Wars and it's amazing (sorry I forgot what it was called). They have unique flavors, which I like. The cupcakes aren't too sweet, and the frosting isn't too sweet either, which is perfect! I paid $3.75 per cupcake. No issue with the customer service, the lady did greet me right away.

The Absolute winner according to our guests was the Chocolate Peanut Butter! We loved the lemon and carrot cake. I have picked up cupcakes several times, it's always a yummy experience.

We were looking for a place to make a cake for one of our events and we decided to try a few cupcakes first. When we went in they had Halloween themed cupcakes and the 'sally' was our favorite. There is a slight price increase for the specialty cupcakes but nothing crazy. My favorites are the banana mocha tella, vanilla and almond. Their vanilla and almond buttercreams and sooo rich and creamy. Their award winning almond champagne with Bavarian is also delicious! We ended up ordering two round cakes and one sheet cake. I was in touch with Alexa all month - she is so friendly and accommodating. She calls me on time and always responds to my emails and texts. I highly reccomend this place for any special event or just a nice treat. Their cake is moist and never dry.
I totally get why you won Cupcakes wars! There aren't a lot of cupcakes that exceed my expectations... but these babies were by far one of the best cupcakes I've ever had. I'm a chubby girl- and I love cupcakes. So take it from me... this place should have lines out the door all day long.... I can't even tell you which one was my favorite because they were all excellent. The women working in the bakery were equally as fantastic! I'm kinda glad I don't live in California anymore because I'd be camping out at your door. But, you better believe that I'll be back the next time I'm in town!!!

Such a cute store and nice employees. They have vegan and gluten-free cupcakes, as well as regular ones. They have drinks too! Only a few seats inside and outside. Most likely, you will have to take it to go. No bathroom here.

I'm not much of a cupcake gal but my husband and I walked by and couldn't help but go inside. The flavors are plentiful and very enticing. My husband settled on an Irish Cream and I lucked out with a mini lemon / berry cupcake! The employee working was very sweet and explained all of the flavors to us and answered all of our questions. She mentioned they'd come out of the fridge so let the buttercream warm up a little. We finished up our walk and within fifteen minutes were ready to sit down and enjoy them. Absolutely fabulous! Really loved my mini dabs my husband loved his full size cupcake. Very cute true local shop that we'll definitely support again.

I bake and lavishly decorate cupcakes for our family very often, so I am super-familiar with how to make them taste and look great! We thought we'd try Little Cakes Kitchen, so we ordered the half-dozen box of assorted cupcakes. They were delivered through DoorDash. We knew we were not able to pick our flavors by ordering this way, but figured Little Cakes would send a representative sample, which I assume they did. I'm not sure which flavors were in our box because they weren't labeled. I wanted to know what we were eating, but I had to dig through many past reviews to identify most of them. The 6 flavors received in the 1/2-dozen box were: * Vanilla * Chocolate * Almond Champagne * German Chocolate * Something Marshmallow-Topped * Something Chocolate--Topped with Thin Vanilla Icing and Vanilla Buttercream All the cupcakes were of average size and were decorated nicely enough. Albeit the cake part on all the cakes were a bit dry. It was difficult to discern a specific flavor on a few, so I've come to the conclusion that garnishing must be their gift. Most of the 'vanilla' flavors, were indistinguishable in flavor from one another, except for the Almond Champagne, which had a cloying almond paste filling, and too much filling to cake ratio. Of particular concern was that the frosting on all seemed to be off in ratios of butter to shortening. I suspect there was an over abundance of shortening in all the cupcakes, which to me, is not palatable, nor is it delicious or anything resembling what a good cupcake should be. They miss the mark in my opinion. Due to the high prices and the fact that the frosting on all the cupcakes was cloying and poorly prepared with what I suspect was too much shortening, and not enough icing sugar, I would likely not buy cupcakes from Little Cakes Kitchen again. read more
Was wandering around and decided to swing by before heading to an event in the area. We have been here before a few years back and the cupcakes and brownies were just as good as I remembered. I was so excited they had a Jack Skellington themed cupcake (it was a tasty chocolate cupcake). I really enjoyed the almond cupcake I got. My mom loves chocolate cupcakes with white frosting and the one I picked up for her did not disappoint. They were all tasty and super moist. My Mom also really like the brownies, especially since they had walnuts (her favorite). Baked goods were reasonably priced and worth every penny. Love how the store is laid out and how the cupcakes are displayed and labeled. The store is nice, bright, and open. The staff is very personable, helpful, and overall amazing. I will for sure be stopping when I am in the area again. read more

Best cupcakes EVER!!! I actually don't like cupcakes but these are SO good. I've ordered from then tens of times. My favorite is their Snickerdoodle cupcake, hands down, but all their flavors are good. They also used to have these mini cheesecakes that were DIVINE but they stopped selling them, unfortunately. Please bring them back! Only downsides are they are pricey and their rewards system (stamp card) is bad in that they only give you a stamp for every $10 you spend. So if you buy $9 worth, you don't get a stamp at all. read more

Got an order of the vanilla cupcakes and champagne almond cupcakes for my grandson's birthday party, and when I got home, saw that the sprinkles on top of 5 of the six vanilla were Halloween colored (black and orange). Not exactly birthday colors. And then just one odd pastel sprinkled cupcake (as the website picture showed). I called to see if I could exchange them, and at least ask why I didn't get six matching cupcakes. The store clerk just said "yeah, sorry, we are doing Halloween Sprinkles right now on our vanilla cupcakes. You must've gotten one of the last regular sprinkle cupcakes." I told her well it's for a birthday party not a Halloween party. She just said "yeah sorry." Then silence. I was so ticked, I just hung up. I know it's hard to get good help in retail these days, but this was just really bad customer service. The cupcakes taste great. The customer service tastes rotten. read more

Ordered a carrot cake for my best friends birthday. She is an amazing baker so buying her a cake is hard. We didn't want her to make her own cake for her birthday! Her request was her favorite...a carrot cake. This was the best carrot cake we have ever had, and the frosting was amazing!!! This place has been in the Vista community for quite some time now and in case you didn't know, they won Cupcake Wars from the Food Network Channel not just once, but twice! I've been coming here few times a year especially when my sweet tooth craves a cupcake. This is one of my favorite places in North County to come. Today, I took advantage of their LIMITED TIME $29.95 dozen deal. My favorite cupcake of theirs is the Tuxedo but that wasn't available today. So I got... 2 Red Velvets, 2 Chocolates, 1 Vanilla, 1 Tres Leches, 1 Banana Split, 1 Strawberry Milkshake, 1 Pearl, 1 Mayan Macaroon, 1 Green Tea Blueberry and 1 Peach ala Mode. My daughter just ate the Chocolate one and she said it was good that she realized she accidentally ate a tiny piece of the cupcake liner...lol. My dad and I split a Mayan Macaroon and Tres Leches and both were delicious! My hubby had the Banana Split. He liked it except for the Sprinkles. Hopefully they'll continue their 2010 pricing for $29.95 for awhile. Also, try coming when they open as some of the popular flavors gets sold out like I missed out on Pancakes & Bacon and Dark Chocolate Macadamia. read more

Love this place! Is so cute and clean inside and your greeted right away by the Bakers and the delicious smell of all the goodness. There is such a large variety of cupcakes to choose from so if your unsure what to get you may want to get the mini cupcakes pack. So far my favorite is the Strawberry Champagne cupcakes and the Maple Bacon!! Who would have thought bacon on a cupcakes would compliment each other so well. Every time I come here they have new flavors so your tastebuds will always have the opportunity of savoring in new flavors.. read more

I came here to pick up some last minute treats for work and grabbed their pre packaged dozen mini cupcakes! It came with 6 different flavors and was fast & easy to purchase. For a mini dozen, it was $21 I believe? The cupcakes were moist and flavorful, and everyone in my department enjoyed it. My favorite was the strawberry milkshake, it was a vanilla base and strawberry frosting that explodes with flavor in your mouth. The parking was easy to find, I parked next to the Panda Express and walked over to the opposite side to find the store. It's in front of the movie theatre. The service was nice and easy. I would come back for sure in the future! read more

Bought the cupcakes here for the first time. They were good, not great Wife said they felt not totally fresh and seemed to need a filling inside. This has been the 3rd time I've had their cupcakes, and they 100% satisfied the cravings. The cakes have consistently been soft, moist and not heavily sweet. Perfect sponges for the creamy luscious frostings. read more

Nice little shop in the heart of Vista village. What I liked about them was the option of mini-cupcakes! They sell a tray worth of these and being bite-sized is really useful for large gatherings! We tried a few samples and would definitely bring home a tray for any parties we throw! read more

Friendly service. Flavors rotate daily with chocolate and vanilla available everyday. Nice presentation, but felt the flavor and moistness of the cupcakes wasn't the best. Lots of people love these, but for my husband and I, they weren't our favorites. read more
