We went ahead and ordered anyway. While waiting, I started reading other reviews mentioning long wait times, but surprisingly, our food came out pretty quickly. Not only that, it was absolutely delicious. That definitely made up for the empty atmosphere. Don't let a quiet dining room discourage you--this place proves the food can more than make up for it.

Vegans, listen! I fell in love with Chicago's Pizza with a Twist (and you will too!)…read more The first time I came to this establishment, my fiancé, friends, and I just got out of a protested board meeting at Modesto Junior College, and despite it only being an hour before closure, the employees were fast, accurate, and friendly. They brought out our beer pitcher, and moments later, our fresh and vegan pizza was brought out to us with white plates. Our friends were trying to wrap up a game of pool five minutes before they were closing, and the workers did not visibly mind. They silently turned off the music and waited at the door for all of us to leave together. We left and told them how incredible they had made our experience. Needless to say, this is now where my family goes to celebrate, and where all of our friends can gather (vegan or not). Thank you!

They have a lovely outdoor area perfect for watching the sunset and gazing into the lush greenery that surrounds the restaurant. We sat inside and the decor gave a homey, almost hole-in-the-wall vibe. There's nothing particularly fancy about the interior of the restaurant, but every member of the staff makes you feel like a guest at their table. We started off with a cold bottle of sauvignon blanc and tried a few appetizers: the bruschetta, mac and cheese, and steak bites. Everything was flavorful and cooked to perfection! Steaks are their specialty at The Grove and are procured from a local cattle rancher. Each piece is specially hand-cut. My husband and I each had the ribeye special and it didn't disappoint. The portions were huge and we could have easily shared a plate. Their menu overall is extensive and has something for everyone - lamb, steak, chicken, fish. We had a great time, enjoyed the amazing hospitality, and can't wait to come back!

I placed a large order today and paid extra for a side of hot sauce, but it wasn't included. When I went back to ask about it, the employee was rude and dismissive, making me feel like I was in the wrong for asking about something I had already paid for. I also asked for plates for our takeout order, which I've been given many times before, but was told no in a very unfriendly way.(didn't get a name but it was the one with the botched lips) I'm not one to complain, but the attitude and lack of customer service really stood out this time. I hope management can address this, because this location has always been a go-to for me and my family.

Got in, and there was only one person in front me so I was able to get in and out pretty quickly. I wanted to keep it simple, so I went with turkey and provolone on a multigrain footlong bread, lightly toasted. While everything tasted as expected for Subway, I gotta say the bread wasn't smushed and held its shape better than most subway's I've been to in the Bay. I do have to say though, the veggies didn't look fresh. The lettuce and spinach looks a bit sad, but it did what it needed to do. $13-14 for a footlong turkey sandwich, I guess that's just what it cost nowadays. Far cry from the OG $5 footlongs but at least they have daily specials which are the best way to get the most for your money.

We've probably been here 20+ times (as we live in the next city and have to drive through Livingston to get up North). We came here once, went through the drive-thru, ordered with the lady that was not friendly whatsoever, and got our food. Since we live about 15 minutes away, we didn't bother to check if our food was right, because how bad can it be messed up? Once we got home, we were missing one of the box meals that we ordered, and a few of the other items were incorrect. As we kept unpacking our bags, we ended up calling the store and asked for the manager. The manager told us that they would give us a free regular taco and a free box meal (that they no longer sell). I don't know if we've ever come to this location and not had problems. However, if you need a quick lunch that's quick and easy access off of 99, then this is the place. But if you want your order correct, either go in or skip the hassle.
