Beautiful and short / sweet trail on my way to SC. Very beautiful and slightly difficult to find. Bring bathing suit.

There used to be a hydroelectric dam upstream that could control releases, but it was destroyed in Hurricane Helene. The future of the dam is uncertain. I appreciated the warm welcome we received when we arrived. We had booked online and signed all of our waivers before we got there. We reserved(rented) water shoes for several folks, as they did not have appropriate footwear. Check in, shoe selection, and safety briefing went quickly , and we were in our tubes in no time. The river was mainly calm stretches punctuated by intermittent small rapid areas. Nothing felt daunting or too dangerous. It had the right level of excitement for the kids to handle themselves. The take out was well marked. It was easy to get our tubes up to the van for the short ride back. We took the first time slot of the day, and were amazed by the crowded parking lot when we returned around noon. We look forward to returning.

Green Rover Adventures is great! (Also, the water is so much warmer than at the Natahala) -- We are older but enjoyed hearing all the happy families in the parking lot as we left. This is an adventure for all ages, I believe.

We had so much fun ebiking in Banff last summer that i thought it would be fun to do in Asheville…read moretoo. I booked the easy ebike ride which was a 12 mile bike ride into Tennessee. We had a 2pm start (1:30pm arrival) and were the only people registered so private ebike tour for us. TJ was our guide and he was training someone so we ended up with 2 guides, which was great. Both of them were very knowledgable about Asheville, nature (i learned what poison ivy looks like) and biking. It took me a few minutes to get my ebike bearings, but then were off. The first part of the ride was on gravel, which was a little tricky, but it was all good when we hit the road. It also started raining and we got pretty wet...i couldn't decide if the rain made the ride miserable or more fun. Maybe both! The biking itself wasn't too hard and honestly we probably could have done it on regular bikes and gotten a workout, but i do find ebiking super fun. We stopped a few times, which helped with our sore butts and learned about the area. A few hours later we said goodbye to our new friends and headed back to Asheville (about an hour away). They also offer many other activities like white water rafting so recommended if you're looking for a little adventure.

We looked in Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, literally everywhere we could potentially camp. Wilderness Cove was opening for their first weekend back and thankfully had some availability! We were the first to get there (after an 11hour drive)! And they were extremely accommodating. We ended up needing an extra camp site due to the number of people we had, but it all worked out. The campground itself is pretty quiet, I didn't see any rowdy people nor did we stay up all night due to excessive noise. They sell wood and ice, so make sure you pick some up before they sell out There's full service restrooms as well as a sink near the main office for washing dishes, which was a great added bonus!! Here's the winner though!! With everything going on with COVID, they were cleaning the bathrooms THREE TIMES A DAY! Morning, afternoon, and evening they were making sure the bathrooms were sparkling! Definitely helped when showering, too! The rapids are REAL rapids. We had 5 girls in our group, and 4 of the 5 weren't interested in going again. Of course the guys went while we stayed behind. Expect to potentially flip over and lose anything you may have brought. This isn't an average float, which is why alcohol isn't allowed. Highly recommend camping here, and will definitely be back if we're ever headed to NC!

His knowledge of bass fishing, kayak fishing, and the local environment, coupled with his natural teaching ability was the perfect balance of learning and fun. We caught loads of spotted bass and some largemouth while getting some exercise and experiencing the serenity of the natural environment. A BUSINESS is NOT a LOCATION ! You can not fish inside a building. You will not have room to cast your line ! A PLACE to FISH is like a certain spot on the river, or a small lake or a creek. It is much better to fish in those types of locations than inside a fly and tackle shop or a barbecue restaurant. Yes those are great places to go, to find fishing equipment, to hire a fishing guild or to eat some awesome barbecue. But, alas it is very poor fishing in those stores.
