There is a laundromat about 8 miles away. There's plenty of shopping choices within a few miles. Food Lion & Dollar General are a short drive away (8-9 miles). Burlington is 12-ish miles away & has most any store or restaurant one might need. The landscaping is lovely, with a variety of flowers all around the park. Attentive owners, reasonably priced, clean, & quiet. We were here for a couple of months while my husband was working in the area. If he ever gets called back, this is the RV park we'll call 1st. Plenty of shopping options within a short drive.

It is very pet friendly (many campers have dogs) with trails along the lake and to the river. It's a popular fishing spot, although we didn't go since it's winter as of this writing. Bobby, who maintains the grounds is super helpful & attentive to any challenges that arise with the site and our needs. Scott, the owner, was very accommodating. And Linda in the office was just as sweet as can be. We would definitely recommend this campground and have had an amazing experience here. Thanks to the staff for all you do if they read this!!

We received a comprehensiveness orientation to the Park.....he then lead us to our huge spacious treed site with a large concrete patio. He assisted us in backing into the proper position....he made sure we knew where the services on our site. Very quiet park....twice weekly onsite trash pick up....felt very secure......comes with cable and lots of over the air T V. Electricity is extra....propane refill in the park at a reasonable price. We stayed for a month....very resonable. We were here for a surgery at Duke Medical Center which is about a half hour drive. Several historical points of interest close by....theater....botanical gardens....lots of college sports and attractions. No on site Laundry....however several laundromats in the near by town....several grocery stores and restaurants of a nice variety and shopping within a 20min. Drive..... And the Staff handout goodies to the Dogs.....the Dogs love the Friendly Staff too.

The…read morebathhouses seem like they had just recently been remodeled, and they were beautiful and very clean and updated. The lake that the campground is on is very pretty. There are some nice playgrounds for the kids, not big but they get the job done. The pool is small, but nice for kids to play and hang out. There are no fire pits at the spaces so that was a little disappointing. The spaces are very small, but paved. Lots of roots and trees around, so there is not much even ground even for sitting at the picnic tables. Definitely a more family friendly feel, and with the space is being so close. It's not a very relaxing campground with peace and quiet if that's what you're looking for. It wasn't overly loud or people partying it up or anything, but just not a private campground if that's what you're looking for. For $40 a night, I would say that it is well worth the money and our kids had a great time!

There is a pool and playground area for kids and two dog parks, one of the small ones and the other for the large dogs.

This is a basic campground right off the highway. The road grade going in is pretty steep and there…read moreare a few tight turns getting in and out. But we are in a pretty big rig and managed fine. The site was level. We did have to use a longer hose for water connection. There are a number of "permanent" residents and some of their sites could have been better maintained. There is an area behind the park for tent camping that has a pretty creek with some picnic and play areas. Some mention highway noise but it didn't bother us. We camped at Pioneer Village Campground in a Fifth Wheel. There is nothing to do in Max Meadows but we weren't looking for that. Wytheville is a short drive and has everything you could need. The Log Cabin 1776 restaurant is a must as well as Skeeters if you like hot dogs. We made a trip to Bristol and really enjoyed hanging out for the day.

They are located right next to the Interstate and very easy to access with a larger RV. As well, the proximity to the highway meant that my mobile coverage was outstanding. This is a large campground with several dozen pads. I was at one facing a small fishing pond and while I had neighbors on both sides, it was still very quiet. The pad was level and the hookup - 30/50 amp, water, dump - all worked perfectly well for me. The pad area is crushed stone and grass, so it was nice to not be concerned about tracking dirt back into the RV. The bathhouse was clean and comfortable. I felt secure using it.
