However, their scheduler was out yesterday and I was given her card to call today to schedule my surgery. I called her this afternoon and didn't even get to finish my sentence before she interrupted me and just said she would get back to me by next Wednesday. Not tomorrow, next Wednesday. I tried to speak again and she interrupted me again and repeated she would get back to me by next Wednesday. Well, I don't spend my hard earned money with people like this. She represents the business and I expect much better than that. I just called my primary for a referral somewhere else.

Review Regarding Leah, Amber, and Dr. Kanoff - My first time here…read more First of all, I have super high anxiety when it comes to eye related things. I've passed out at the eye doctor before multiple times after panic attacks. I came in 3 days after an ER visit. I went to the ER on a Sunday, eye swollen shut, with something "stuck in it" - they told me I must have washed it out, because all that was left were scratches. Come weds, my eye was still in so much pain, it was watery, swollen... I was referred here by family, so I called Weds morning. Leah answered, and was super accommodating to me as far as appointment times, insurance information, and other paperwork. It was seamless and painless. The office was comfortable, they took me back to my appointment right on time. I met Amber and Dr. Kanoff, explained what had happened, and told them I was still insistent that something was still stuck in my eye. My anxiety issues were translated to the doctor beforehand, so I didn't have to go over it again which I genuinely appreciated. They were both so accommodating to my anxiety. They kept stressful things out of view (tools used to extract something out from up underneath my eyelid, my eyelid had to be flipped out), kept me informed, told me exactly what to do what not to do, and were friendly and reassuring. That was the first time that I had gone through something like that without passing out. I can't thank or compliment them enough on their professionalism, and kindness. It's the next day, and my eye feels completely normal again. After three and a half days of pain, it's quite the relief. Thank you Amber and Dr. K!

Nearly 50 minutes were spent with "Taina" attempting check-in due to an "insurance system issue," followed by failed verification attempts and multiple handoffs to office manager "Heather"--with no resolution. Despite being unable to confirm my copay or deductible, they pushed for upfront payment because of their internal insurance system outage. That is not standard practice. The front counter and waiting area were disorganized, unclear billing logic, and zero respect for scheduled appointment time. Dr. Howard Kushnick was present but disengaged from the breakdown occurring at the front desk, while basic patient intake remained completely unresolved. At that point, I requested my insurance and credit card back and left without being seen. The recurring themes in other reviews--extended delays, administrative inefficiency, and payment-first aggressiveness--were directly experienced. If you read the other reviews here -- believe them. I can confirm. Patients should be aware: expect significant delays, unclear billing practices, and a process that does not reflect a well-managed clinical environment.

I got an automated response asking me if I want to get a call back before the end of business day. I input my number and hit 1 for yes. Never got the call back. I'll check again on Monday.

Only after consulting another surgeon did I fully understand that my eye was complex and outcomes could vary. What I cannot accept was the response afterward. When I returned distressed -- unable to read my phone, struggling with depth perception, even falling -- I was given shifting explanations and conflicting narratives and was ultimately made to feel the outcome was my fault. Dr. O'Brien's communication style came across as rushed and dismissive. When I raised concerns, the response felt combative rather than collaborative, leaving little room for genuine dialogue about my care. The payment was complete; the accountability was not. I am now under the care of another surgeon while I explore options to correct what was done.
