Then decide if you are in a sweet and/or savory mood by adding a combination of sauces that are offered. Last night, I grabbed a bowl, and actually, I grabbed two, because I think I have a pretty good method, lol. Since there weren't trays available, I put it under my main bowl until I got to the sauces. I know, you are supposed to start with meat... but I was thinking... what's the best way to stack this bowl with all these ingredients to get the maximum amount in it? I didn't want to start with the meats because they take up a lot of space being bulky and frozen. I actually decided to start with spinach, so that I could then flatten it down with veggies and noodles, then top it with the thin slices of frozen meat. Since it was not busy, it made it easy to start in the middle and go back to the meats at the beginning. You want to build your bowl as high a you can get it because after it is cooked, it reduces in size. *pro tip! Use your hand to smash your ingredients down as you fill your bowl! For sauces, this is where your extra bowl comes into play. I try to fill that bowl at least ¾ of the way with a combination of house sauce, chili oil, garlic chip sauce, ginger water, kung pao, some cooking wine, and water. Andrew, the grill master, offered to help with the sauces if I needed. *don't be afraid to use water! It doesn't water down your flavor, but helps with the streaming/cooking process! At the end, there was an option to add "Twist BBQ Oil" I had to ask Andrew about this and it adds a subtle smokey bbq flavor. It sounded great, so he added it for me. For all the sauces, I like to stir from the bottom then get my scoop. I gave him my creation. He emptied both my bowls into a circular grill and used very long chopsticks to continuously stir and flip the ingredients over a very high heat. While he cooked, Andrew was explaining how some sauces go better with some meats and what it does during the cooking process... I like that he was explaining that by adding this sauce, it's going to help tenderize, by adding this sauce, it is more savory, or this one is more sweet... very smart chef! *Do not forget to tip your chef!! When I sat down, Korina had brought me water, rice, egg drop soup, and some wonton chips with sweet & sour to dip them in. While I was waiting for my bowl to cool off, I noticed there were sides available to add onto your meals. They are buy one get one free (of the same app). I decided to go with potstickers and GK pan. So for both, I actually got double orders (yay, I get to take some home!). The potstickers have pork and were deep fried. They had a great crunch and came with a savory dipping sauce. The GK Pan was crispy and a little on the plain side for me. The egg flower soup was good and I didn't touch my rice (oops, lol). Now that my bowl had cooled off a little, I grabbed my fork (I didn't feel like chopsticks) and this creation, with the help of Andrew, was my favorite creation of all time! It was savory, with just a tiny hint of sweet. Everything was tender! Korina checked up on me a few times and I'm sure what she mostly heard from me was, "Mmmmmm!" So yummy! I'm sure I could've done without the extra appetizers, and been satisfied with my creation, rice, soup, and wonton chips (they put in a little hidden potsticker for you to try! ), but I had to give a couple of the apps a try! The host was also serving, cashiering, and bussing tables, but still took the time to walk my mom through the process since it was her first Mongolian BBQ. She asked if there were any low-sodium sauce options, and while he explained most of the sauces are soy-based, he suggested using garlic, ginger, cooking wine, and oils instead. I appreciated that he took the time to help instead of just pointing to the sauce bar. My husband likes spicy food, and they even offered to have the cook add extra chili oil that's kept behind the counter. I also appreciated that they cleaned the grill before cooking the next customer's bowl and that leftovers can be taken home, since not every Mongolian BBQ restaurant allows that. There are other options like tomatoes, pineapples, bell pepper, broccoli, Turkey, chicken, and pork. There is only one type of noodle - it's a thicker chow mein noodle. The chefs do cook your food on a large flat top. While you can tip them in cash in the jar, there is also an option to tip on the terminal when you check out. It is all you can eat here for lunch and dinner. There are slight variations in the sides for lunch and dinner. I believe it is soup, gyoza, and white rice for lunch and for dinner, wonton chips with sweet dipping sauce is added and the rice is upgraded to fried rice with vegetables. We also noticed a lot of people ordering DoorDash or takeout.

I was also pleasantly surprised to find out that not only do they have Sriracha, but they also have traditional chili oil that you can order with your meal for flavoring. They still have their soft serve ice cream for afterwards with sprinkles and chocolate strawberry Hershey's syrup. Lunch is a few dollars cheaper than dinner. We went at 4 o'clock, so it was dinner our but dinner you can go and get as many refills as you want. The only caveat is if you do get a refill, you cannot take home leftovers. Which seems fair. Super low-key not fancy but a very, very decent Mongolian barbecue and I will be back!

The server at our table was blatantly discourteous, displaying a complete lack of etiquette. This establishment comes across as exceedingly avaricious and unaccommodating, going so far as to prohibit me from taking home the meal I initially purchased. Despite spending $20 on a dish from which I had leftovers I intended to enjoy later, they dismissed my request, seized my plate, and discarded my food. Regardless of the nature of the enterprise, a customer reserves the right to take their food wherever they please once it's been paid for; this principle is fundamental. Furthermore, the waitress neglected her duty to attend to our needs, failing to inquire if we required anything additional. She only approached our table upon our initiative to request a container for our leftovers. Who would be inclined to patronize a restaurant where the staff is impolite, indifferent to customer preferences, and insistent on enforcing their rules uncompromisingly? It's preposterous. You're decidedly better off visiting a place like McDonald's, where, at the very least, the employees conduct themselves with a greater degree of professionalism. read more

The wait staff is terrible, no one speaks English. I went in for dinner and decided to sit and eat instead of take it to go. It was more expensive to sit and eat than to go. I only finished half of my dinner and wanted a box, but was told repeatedly they don't do boxes for dine in, yet that wasn't posted anywhere. So, they got paid more and got to throw my food away and lost a customer for life, and hopefully others as well. Don't bother going here unless you want to dump money and get barely anything out of it. Sorry I'm not huge and can't eat a whole bowl, Li's. I found the quality of food here to be consistent and outstanding quality. If you haven't had the honey butter fried chicken I'd certainly recommend that you give it a try. It's about 75% sweet and 25% savory. It's probably the most unique style of chicken on the menu. I really enjoyed it, but pairing it with the original or spicy would be nice because sometimes there is such a thing as too much of a good thing. As much as I enjoy the fried chicken, I probably wouldn't recommend the oven baked chicken. It's ok, but it doesn't have the wow factor that the fried chicken has. The restaurant itself is pretty small as well as hidden as it is off the main road and behind another business. If you weren't looking for this Vons location you probably wouldn't even know it's there. Service-wise I found the folks there to be super friendly. Great chicken spot!

We've tried several spots in the area after our typical go-to hadn't been great the last few times we ordered. So, I turned to my trusty Yelp and found Pearl House. Hubs knew exactly where it was--next door to Grocery Outlet. I thought it was closed last time we were at GC, like closed closed. So when we saw pics from 3days ago, we knew that wasn't the case. Being 7pm on a Sunday, we saw they closed at 9pm. So, looked at their menu online, we decided on our order: Hubs' go-to whenever trying a new place is General Tso's Chicken, and I tried something new-Happy Family because I was in the mood for a protein variety dish, and this had quite the variety: scallop, shrimp, calamari, crabmeat, chicken, BBQ pork, and beef with a plethora or veggies. We also wanted egg rolls. I called and a lady answered, took my order, and said it'd be ready in 10min. Didn't take my name or number-wow! Not only did I think that was kinda crazy, but TEN minutes?!?! This was either gunna blow my mind or be horrible. We drove over and upon entering there were a few people inside leaving--not sure if they were also to-go or has finished eating there. I looked around and saw many empty tables, but clean looking dining room area. A lady behind the counter wearing a face mask asked to help me. I let her know I was there to pick up, and she asked what I ordered. Our order was already boxed up ready to go. Our total? $41 before tip. I asked her if they did sit down, she confirmed yes. Then I told her it was my first time in there, to which she asked where I lived and that they've been there for 37 YEARS! Then she said she hopes we like our food and to see us again. I grabbed a to-go menu and went on my way. The food smelled good and when we got home, I grabbed my own chopsticks and hot chili oil, and was ready to grub. In the box, besides our ordered food, they included sweet & sour sauce for the egg rolls, as well as soy sauce packets and individually wrapped fortune cookies. I first went for an eggroll, which was surprisingly longer in length than most other places. Took a bite and enjoyed that wonderful crispy outside texture, and saw it was veggie only inside--whomp, whomp. In my mind, these should really be called spring rolls. However, these had some REALLY great flavor!! Hubs enjoys meat in his rolls, but after explaining the flavor, he still tried one himself and was quite happy with it. He had taken a bite of his GT Chicken and said it was pretty good. He said it tasted a little too sweet, almost dessert-y, but that it was also really good. I tried a small piece and liked how crispy it was even in all the sweet sauciness. Then I opened my dish and boy oh boy did it look good. Now before I talk about how it tasted, I need to explain what I thought I was getting. The menu said all those proteins I mentioned, and that it was tossed with snow pea pods, broccoli tips, mushrooms (which I ordered without) and baby corn. All veggies I enjoy! So, what my dish actually came with (as you can see in my pic), there was onions, carrots, celery, bamboo shoots, water chestnuts, NO calamari or baby corn or BBQ pork. That all said, I was most disappointed in not having the calamari, BBQ pork or baby corn. Sad, yes. But the overall dish made up for it. With that, I was not mad AT ALL, and surprisingly ate the entire thing in one sitting--NOT a usual thing for me!! Granted, I hadn't eaten since breakfast, but still. It was DEE-LICIOUS and I'll say Dee-approved!! I'm literally writing this review immediately after eating dinner because it was THAT good y'all! I couldn't not let my people know that Pearl House is legit and it's obvious why they've been around for 37 years. This may be our new go-to spot for that neighborhood Chinese food craving, IJS. So, if you're in the area and looking for some authentic Chinese cuisine, look no further and check out Pearl House for yourself. We most definitely will be back. P.S. They didnt want my food to go waste. So they suggested for me to come pick it up so it wouldn't go to waste. When i arrived at the store I was met by whom i believe is the manager who goes by Carlos, he was very helpful with resolving the issue and reassured me of any complications in the future, that he would be able to assist me and make sure my food is spot on. This is a family run business where everyone working truly cares about their patrons. The team members go the extra mile to ensure the customer is happy.
