As much as I'd like to support small local Business this place sucks. My wife and I walked in and Examined the menu, your typical Chinese American food fair. Not looking to get anything too crazy we ordered hunan chicken, small egg drop soup, lobster fried rice, and tofu and veggies. Let's start with the egg drop. Watery, no strong flavor. Weak. The Hunan chicken was a slurry mess of over starchy brown sauce smattered on the chicken . Hunan chicken is supposed to be spicy, this was bland and too thick. The tofu veggies was the same mess as the "Hunan" chicken , literally the same sauce (they probably cooked it in the same wok) The lobster fried rice wasn't really lobster (it was langistino) but I knew that going in. The worst part was that it was fishy , def not fresh. Overall it was bad. When you've got Shanghai gourmet down the road, or chiu fai near stew Leonard's if you want Better quality food. Take it from a real Chinese person and don't be fooled by the other reviews (prob by non Asian people) this place is a dud. read more

As a Chinese American I'm quite disappointed in this takeout joint. Of course I'd rather have my Asian food in NYC for a cheaper deal but I don't have that luxury out in CT. I figure I'd give the local establishments a good spirited try! Disappointed here. We ordered a bean curd vegetable stir fry and Hunan chicken ... two different dishes. However, we essentially got the same dish with the same brown sauce. And the brown sauce congeals in due time! That's disgusting! And how could you as an establishment try to fool two Asian people with the dishes we ordered! Hunan chicken is spicy and what we got served was NOT hunan chicken (let alone spicy). The egg drop soup was watered down. The lobster fried rice tasted fishy. The ultimate shame. If anything the only local Norwalk establishment reliably good is Chiu Fai by Stew Leonard's ... I rather provide free advertising for an establishment that has been consistently good contrary to the mix of reviews in the area. read more

With the economy, I found my favorite Chinese restaurant had gone out of business so was in search of another place I can start frequenting. Not many choices in Norwalk, so tried this one as an experiment. It is mostly a takeout place, with a fairly large seating area, with actually few seats. The menu choices are pretty standard for a Chinese restaurant, however the Quantity is much more than other places I have visited, and the prices are extremely reasonable. Ordered shrimp egg foo young for dinner. This was absolutely atrocious, eggs, shrimp and onions were burnt and no flavoring or taste, the white rice served with this was mush. My opinion is that since new ownership, I have slowly seen the quality decline and being in a prime spot they don't care. I am surprised that they would serve this to a customer unknowingly in a take out order. The apologies for bad food are over, and I caution others that pre-fried chicken wings are kept under the counter. Had a tasty meal here while in the road from Jersey to Mass. We were hungry and the traffic was slow so a quick Chinese meal seemed like an excellent idea. But wow, we didn't expect such good taste in a suburban step mall fast food place. Chicken and broccoli was perfectly textured and nicely seasoned. The broccoli was crunchy and full of flavor. We also ordered chow fun broad noodles with beef, which aren't on the menu. Boy, were they good! Next time we're passing through we'll stop here again, for sure. On our way to Massachusetts, me, my mom and my brother decided to stop somewhere local to grab dinner. A quick Google search brought us here. It's your pretty typical Chinese takeout place, not very large, only three tables in the place and ample parking out front. But the food is very tasty! We ordered chicken and broccoli, and beef rice noodles, and the meal came with a plate of rice. I've tasted better rice noodles, but they were still good. The chicken and broccoli came lathered in this delicious sauce, I couldn't get enough of the broccoli even, just bursting with flavor. And we paid just over $20. Three adults had more than our fair share. We dined in, so everything was served on paper plates, which they brought to the table for us - a nice touch. The place seems to be popular too, as we devoured our meal, every few minutes, people kept coming in to place or pick up an order. My only complaints were that the chicken and broccoli especially, while the sauce was awesome, there was too much grease, which I'm certainly feeling the effects of. And for the rice noodles, because the plates are paper, the noodles stuck to the plate. Overall, it's a good little takeout place and I'm glad we stopped here on our trip. Tl;dr: delicious food, reasonably priced and you'll fill yourself up. Just be cautious with the amount of grease in some dishes. read more

Some colleagues in my office recommended Li's Brothers, so I decided to give it a try. With a friend on his way to join me for a quick lunch in the office before a meeting, I ordered fried dumplings, General Tsao Chicken and Moo Shu Chicken. None were available under their Lunch Special menu, so each of these were full sized portions. First, the portions are very large, you can easily share a single order. From the top: Dumplings - there are six dumplings to an order. They were lightly crisped on one side. These were not very good. They were under-cooked, very doughy and had very little filling. It was similar to biting into raw dough. Moo Shu Chicken - A large portion with several pancakes. I decided to first try the chicken without the pancake. One bite was enough to convince me that the Moo SHu Chicken was not to my liking either. There was an incredibly bitter flavor in the chicken, and the overall dish was not very good. General Tsao Chicken - I did not have high hopes for this dish after tasting the other two. The dish was also a large portion, served atop a large mound of broccoli. It was primarily fried crust covered with an over-sweet sauce. The scant amount of chicken was intermingled with pieces of chicken bones and cartilage. This was the worst of the three dishes. I was really hoping I would like Li's, but I would be hard pressed to return. read more

It has been a long time since I've been a regular, but I grew up riding my bike over to the comic book store (now closed) and then next door for lunch at Li's Brothers. The storefront was never much to look at, but the food was always good, reasonably priced and the folks that ran the place were always very friendly. In fact, they made an effort to give an extra hi to their regulars...even if they were snot nosed kids biking in for a quick lunch. read more

For CT Chinese, this gets a passing grade. If you've ever been to Chinatown or know the difference between American Chinese and Shanghai cuisine, this will make you sad inside. We ordered sweet and sour soup, wonton soup, chicken and rice, chicken and broccoli, boneless spare ribs, sesame chicken, and they threw in pork dumplings for free. The soups are edible. The broth in the wonton tasted like gelatin, and the sweet and sour soup had old (what looked like canned) vegetables inside, so I couldn't eat. Sesame chicken was good, fried rice earned a B, but overall the dishes were soaked in oil and really not high quality. The spare ribs tasted like uncooked bacon and were soaked in oil. Overall the review is not great. I generously give three stars for effort, because compared to the other Chinese around here, it's on par. I think I need to move. read more

Not sure about rest of the menu, but I frequently pick up for lunch, a House Special Soup and an egg roll. The soup is packed with tasty veggies, chicken, pork, shrimp and wontons. The egg roll is solid too. I know the ambiance and service may be lacking or typical of a place like this but it's certainly not surprising. read more

I have been getting take-out here for well over 10 years. In an effort to stay healthy, some of my kids order the steamed vegetables and chicken with brown rice. Their food is fresh and tasty and for reasonable prices. Their spare ribs are great--better than mom's, and like their cheese wontons. All the regular Chinese favorites are there, plus some specialties and all are very good. I think the skins on their dumplings are too thick, but others may like it that way. With the economy going bad they've kept their prices low, but the portions are now normal sized, instead of the previous extra large portions. That's okay, I didn't need the calories. read more

The quality and service have gone way down. First, the man who took our order on the phone could not understand what we were ordering. We even provided the corresponding item number from the menu. Of course, when we picked up our food and checked it, they had, in fact, messed up the order. We also had to wait several minutes for someone to acknowledge us. The man who eventually acknowledged us (apparently the driver for Li Brothers) was outside picking crud off of the bumper of his Mercedes SUV with his fingernail for at least seven minutes before he came inside and greeted us. We took our food home and here is the verdict. Egg rolls: Greasy and tasteless, At the other Chinese restaurants we've patronized, they provide a napkin to soak up the excess grease. Not here. All of us found the egg rolls to be gross and inedible. Also, they are much smaller than at any other restaurant and there was barely any filling. Shrimp Lo Mein: Not worth the nearly $9 we paid. All noodles, not much else. There were very few shrimp, almost no vegetables and it had a strange, burnt taste. Beef and Broccoli: Not the worst we had, but far from the best. The beef is clearly low-quality meat. The broccoli was fresh. Shrimp and Broccoli: Disgusting. The sauce was a clear, sticky, tasteless broth. It was like a mixture of lousy lobster sauce and Elmer's glue. Plus, there were only five shrimp. We discarded this absolutely horrible, disgusting concoction. General Tso's Chicken: What is with the chicken? It tasted sour, like it was stored in a non-functioning refrigerator for a week, The sauce was horrible, too. The broccoli was nice and fresh, but was ruined by the terrible-tasting sauce and bitter chicken. BAD SERVICE, BAD FOOD, ELEVATED PRICES (the prices went up and were higher than those on a menu a family member picked up at the restaurant last week!), INDIFFERENT STAFF and I really hope the guy scraping the scum off of the bumper wasn't a cook, as well. this is the Macdonalds of Chinese food, fast, hot and just ok. Their only redeeming feature is they deliver and if you have young children their food is passable, like Macdonalds. If you never had a decent Chinese meal this would be wonderful, however if you do have a clue there is a great Chinese resturant across the street, Shanghi Gourmet, which unfortunately does not deliver. The foods not awful but it lacks any caring about what they serve. It all kind of tastes the same. The young man at the counter needs some lessons about customer service, he's almost rude. Also the egg rolls keep getting smaller and smaller, the dumplings are large but tasteless. So many of the offering use to be better, now it seems like they are trying to save pennies in silly way's i.e. smaller egg rolls, very little gravy for egg fuyoung dishes, not filling the rice container fully, smaller soup noodle bags, etc,etc. Best things they have going is they are close to home and fast. Besides the fact that their menu says $10 minimum for delivery, I spent 10 minutes trying to order over the phone just for them to tell me no delivery unless I spent $20. Love this place! Food is always hot and delicious and they always treat their customers well. They are also usually pretty quick for takeout. The only criticism I have is, although they're great with customers, they can often be heard yelling at each other in the kitchen. However, their customer service with the customers is terrific.
