This was our first time and we went for their Valentine's day themed cocktails. We found it a bit tricky to locate where they were - finally saw the signage and was able to make it on time. We were greeted immediately and checked in. They had several "classroom" type areas. Everyone gets their own cocktail tools and you share ingredients with your partner (or you make friends with a stranger). The guy who was instructing was very knowledgeable and funny. Definitely made the experience fun. All 3 cocktails were delicious - I even liked the tequila one which I normally avoid. The spirits they used were quite nice (El Dorado, Marie Brizzard, Rittenhouse). They had a charcuterie board at both ends of the room for people to get snacks in between drinks. Making education fun is the vibe at Liquor Lab (LL). Hey, they know that alcohol can make it a bit more fun. I watch plenty of videos on making drinks and I will say it is so much more fun when you can make those drinks with others. Also, it is good to get some background information on the history of tequila and mezcal from a very knowledgeable instructor/cocktail conjurer. Trust me, after leaving the event you will watch your bartender more when making your drink. Hey, you took one class at LL so you are basically on the level of some bartenders at certain places. If you decide to check out LL there are a variety of sessions that focus on various alcohols and even focus on drinks for a particular time of the year. At this time, I chose an event for us where the foundation of our drinks would be tequila. It was a hard choice because there also was a fall cocktail class. Still no regrets on my choice and just me being greedy to make and wanting to make the most in educating myself on other libations. The setup was nice. You can either sit at the bar with your drink set or it can just be you with your partner, partner(s), no judging, on date night, or a friend foray. I was told that they host company events here. I wish I could have an employer who one day will see and consider the making of drinks as a team-building exercise? But you know how HR is. The best part is that spouse and I made the same drinks but even with a few slight variations we could taste the differences in our drinks. It was fun and I admit I finally learned some additional ways of using ingredients you might have around that can be incorporated into your drinks. On the next trip to Nashville, I could see myself coming back especially for one of the spring/summer seasonal cocktail events. If you're looking for the opportunity to increase your knowledge on cocktail making and the reason why bartenders do (or don't do) certain things, The Liquor Lab is a great chance to go alone or with friends to get savvy on how some popular drinks are made and how you can make them at home. This is not a walk in situation. Tickets can be purchased in advance and this is a great idea for your office team building, bridesmaids or date night outing. Plenty of unisex bathrooms for customers and an overall good vibe. The instructor had to compete with this one lady who learned to whisper in a helicopter and an annoying laugh that would annoy anyone who hadn't already been drinking. So when you and your pals attend, maintain a non-competitive noise level so others can hear what is being said. There was a charcuterie tray to have some light bites. I do recommend that you eat before or afterwards. The materials you needed were explained with some background information on the ingredients and tools used. The art is commendable, the music was on par and I really enjoyed myself. There was no pressure to get it right as it's being made by you for you so just enjoy the moment. The instructor and the staff made themselves available afterwards to answer any questions or just to chat. I learned a lot about the area, other businesses they recommend and the people themselves. We had to go thru Coyote Ugly and come in the back entrance from the alley. Very cool place. You sit down and learn three cocktails and they offer a nice charcuterie board to snack on in between cocktails. It takes about 1.5-2 hrs total and its a lot of fun to learn about the tricks, tools and techniques of the trade. We ended up making 3 cocktails: Pumpkin pie Daiquiri made with rum, and a Citrus gin collins and the original cocktail, a sazerac. We celebrated my friends birthday here! We had a time! His wife booked a private room that was located in the very back away from the group classes. We were welcomed with a wonderful cocktail. We then made 3 cocktails and honestly, they were all very delicious. They were well balanced. Our mixologist was very knowledgeable of whisky. Event was great! I would give 5 stars but there is no signage outside for Liquor Lab pretty much everyone had a hard time finding it. The entrance was a little chaotic because there was another rowdy event happening with people in very interesting costumes. I attended this class with some girl friends to celebrate a birthday, and we had a fabulous time! I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the menu items change seasonally, and while we went in December the menu did not change from Fall to Winter until December 21 (winter solstice). We really enjoyed our fall flavors, incorporated into each of the three drinks we made ourselves. Our teacher was incredibly funny, kind, and patient as we fumbled with the provided tools. This was such a cool experience, I love pretty cocktails so learning new techniques was nice. But what a fun concept to do for a date nite or a girls nite and drinking and laughing the night away. My girlfriends and I went to the Liquor Lab on Friday night for a bachelorette event. We showed up at 5pm to start the event, which was Margarita themed. There was a party of 16 of us, so we were seated in a large room in front of a stage that was prepared with all of the necessities to make drinks. Initially upon getting dropped off by our uber, it was difficult to find the place. We didn't realize that it was downstairs, so some signage may help guests to get down there. We were carded at the door by a somewhat dull guy that had no interest in us or our excitement. We met with the instructor who was very kind to us. He quickly prepared us for what was ahead with the class. He step by step allowed us to make 3 different margaritas for all pallets of people. We were provided chips and salsa as well as two chicken tacos. The margaritas were delicious! I will definitely be trying to make these at home. Highly recommend this place for an event. I believe they are opening others throughout the country, so it will be nice to present this type of experience to other cities. read more

Nashville's first hands-on, interactive craft beer, wine, spirit and cocktail event space and social experience is a fresh new addition to the nashville scene. I was lucky enough to attend the soft opening and wasn't really expecting it to be much different than other mixology classes but boy was I wrong. This experience was next level greatness. Professional Instruction The key to a any great class is the instructor and Freddie came through like a champion. He's edgy, incredibly knowledgeable and obviously a master of his craft. I guess you have to be if you're Liquor Lab Nashville's chief cocktail officer. All that being said, I think the most important thing to note is that he's approachable and willing to answer questions and give solid advice throughout the class. Trust me I went from no shake skills to shaker queen by the end of the night. Experience The class is set up like a lab with ample seating and a clear view of the instructor. Everyone has their own dedicated station which enhanced the hands on experience for me. Check in at the podium on the lower level was fast and easy. Freddie provided a brief overview of the space, class and the comment cards placed at each station. We were asked to rank and give comments on each cocktail. Cocktail favorites are compiled at the end of the year and sent to attendees via email. Cocktail kits and merch were available for purchase. Be sure to ask about the Dollar Cocktail Club. Cocktails/Food I attended the Margaritas and Tacos class. Prior to the class we were treated to small plate tacos and veggies from a local vendor. Having food available is definitely a different twist from other classes I've attended. Next, using infused tequilas, fresh purées and other classic ingredients we were guided through crafting four amazing cocktails and given a brief history of tequila and its origins. Freddie also gave great suggestions on tequila options at every price point. Final Two Cents Hands down one of the best interactive experiences in the city. Pricing at approximately $50 to $60 is comparable to what you would pay for other classes in the area. The class runs for about an hour and a half. This is a great activity to do alone or with a group. The space can be rented for private events and Liquor Lab Nashville plans to host cocktail, spirit and craft beer related festivals and events throughout the year. Looking for a great way to change up date night or the perfect bachelorette event? This is it! We went for a date night and will absolutely be back, with friends! When first arriving we were welcomed by an individual meal box of pizza and a roll from 5 points pizza. We definitely didn't expect any food so it was a nice surprise. We made 3 different cocktails throughout the entirety of the class (tequila, gin, whiskey) and though I actually don't like gin or whiskey, I did really enjoy the drinks. Had a blast at a Liquor lab class! I took a holiday cocktails class on a late Saturday afternoon (3:30). I was welcomed by a friendly staff member and shown to our classroom. Class was packed with friendly folks. We all just a chance to make three cocktails: a hot toddy, a gin cocktail and an old fashioned. While the drinks were somewhat simple, but ingredients were high quality and the instructor was patient, friendly and incredibly knowledgeable! We were given a significant portion of bbq and Mac and cheese from Peg Leg Porker as our small bite. It was AMAZING! Its a bit on the pricey side, but is a fun thing to do when visiting Nashville, hanging out with friends, having a date nite or celebrating an occasion. I recommend! read more

This was such a fun class. The instructor was well-versed in the history of the drinks we were making (New Orleans themed) as well as the liquors. My friend and I had a lot of fun learning about the drinks, new techniques, and tasting them too! I would have given this five stars, but the place is ridiculous to find if you don't have good instructions (and if you are not from the area). There is no neon sign outside of the liquor lab, and you have to look for a tiny sign outside and happen to look in windows to find their logo. It's downstairs in a basement with some other business on the top floor. We got there early and spent 30 minutes walking around and asking people where the liquor lab was. We found the locked back entrance and it looked dark and scary with no phone number to call. Their website also does not have a working phone number (after hours), and the only way to contact them is via email. The only way we found the place was one of the nearby bars had a bouncer who knew about the place. We have been contacted by Liquor Labs and have provided this feedback, so hopefully they will provide a more detailed description of how to get there on their confirmation email and update their phone number. read more
