I am not sure if they still do it (I haven't checked in on it for a long time) but a while back they had trivia nights. I went to a few and they were so fun! They had actual entertaining questions that people might actually know the answers to. Just a fun thing to participate in :-) The only slightly negative thing I could say about this establishment is that can sometimes get pretty loud in there because it's a small restaurant with a bar attached so sometimes (well, often) drunk people talking loudly at the bar can be annoying if you're sitting at a table close to the bar. Other than that small thing, everything else is great! :-)

The gentleman working the bar was attentive, friendly, and clearly knows what he's doing. Every drink was incredibly well-made, creative, and delicious. You can tell there's some real thought and skill going into the bar program. The vibe is also fantastic. Cool, laid-back decor with some awesome portraits of a few absolute GOATs on the walls--Dave Chappelle, Anthony Bourdain, and others. Definitely gives the place some personality and makes it feel like somewhere you actually want to hang out. I didn't get a chance to try the food this time, but I cannot wait to come back for the veggie burger. If the cocktails are any indication of the quality coming out of the kitchen, I'm expecting to be very happy. Great drinks, great atmosphere, and clearly a place that knows how to do things right. Watermelon tomato salad- 10/10 feta cheese always takes the show! Beef sliders- 10/10 us just being greedy but so good. French fries- 9/10 decent portion! Blackened salmon- 8/10 compared to how flavorful the appetizer's were it made the salmon lack in taste. Something was missing but it was still good loved the coconut milk flavor in the jasmine rice! All in all 10 out of 10 highly recommend!

Shangri La is known for their Palm Spring like vibes and you can definitely feel it. We sat outside because it was so nicely decorated and actually not hot anymore. We ordered our drinks and meals: the margarita slushie, drink special, brussels sprouts, tuna crudo, and scallops. Everything was delicious. The brussels spouts were crispy. The crudo had a great sauce to compliment the tuna. The scallops were cooked well. For dessert we got the custard and figs and they were divine. Staff were nice, everyone was attentive and friendly. We enjoyed our experience were glad to try them out finally.

I really liked it versus the potato salads that I have had at a lot of other BBQ places because often they are "eggy" and that is not what I prefer. The brisket was amazing. GREAT flavor and so tender. I ate 80% of it before I realized that I needed to try the BBQ sauces lol. I tried all three of the sauces on my table... Original, Sweet & Bold, and Hickory Smoke. All three were good but Original was my favorite. While eating an employee stopped by my table twice to make sure I did not need anything and that everything was good. He was very friendly. It's more lounge than smokehouse and doesn't really scream BBQ. Most of the seating is high-top stools, so with our 3-year-old we sat outside. You order at the counter, grab your own silverware from the corner, and seat yourself. The menu is on the wall. Prices are decent, but meats come in platters and combos rather than à la carte by the pound, which is different from most BBQ spots. I ordered the Hangry Sampler. It must have been a slow day; the server mentioned something about events happening nearby. The food definitely felt like it had been sitting a while: - Brisket: Okay, but not much smoke, and it was a bit cold and dry. - Chicken: Super dry, probably from sitting. They sauce it for you, which I'm not a fan of. - Pulled pork: Also suffered from sitting. - Tri-tip: Overly dry. You could see it in the slices, and it ate tough and chewy despite a decent-looking rub. - Rolls: Store-bought and cold. - Sides: A miss for me. The mac and cheese tasted mustard-based, and the coleslaw didn't do it for me either lacking flavor. - BBQ sauces were generic; not sure if house made. Service overall was decent. I really wanted to like this place, but it feels like it has a bit of an identity crisis. It's more of a wine lounge that sells BBQ on the weekends. This may have been a one-off on a slow day. I'm willing to try again and will update my review.
