Great product and great service! We love the look and operation of our new awnings and the installers were excellent! John took the time to explain the details about wind sensors and how the shades can automatically retract if the wind picks up. He uses the highest quality shade material and it is beautiful looking as well. I highly recommend Liquid Canvas! Their awnings and installation service are both top notch! read more

Local shop with better prices than the big guys and much higher quality than the online awning companies. His awnings are solid. Powder coated galvanized steel frames, double stitched seams, tight fabric. John shows up on time and does the measurements, fabric cutting and sewing and installation himself. I found him to be very friendly and good at his job. I wanted the awnings to outlast the house and these look like they will. Awnings will always cost more than you think they will, but having done it I'm very happy with how they improve the house and I would do it again and recommend John to anyone. read more

My canvas gazebo was shot. After searching extensively for a standard replacement, which simply was not available, I found John. He made a custom replacement canvas gazebo cover that is incomparably better than the original. The material he used is excellent and the fit is just perfect. I'm confident this cover will last at least 10 years and remain beautiful the entire time. Highest recommendation for John from Liquid Canvas. Update: John also did great job on replacing our awning, Spring 2020. John is always a pleasure to work with. read more

We have had the pleasure to work with John (the owner of Liquid Canvas) for various projects over the last 17 years. From designing a mailbox canopy for our HOA to our latest canvas & frame replacement for our coffee cart. We were referred to John from one of our coffee vendors who has used his service for years and told us he is the best of the best and we come to find out he truly is. He has always been on time, has an outstanding crew & follows all safety protocols (worked during the Pandemic) everyone wore face masks, etc.... John is a master of his craft and his attention to detail is off the charts!!! Support Local! read more

I am so very pleased to offer accolades to the superior service and products offered by Liquid Canvas. When first meeting with John he understood exactly what was needed to manage the sunshine through my sliding glass door. I had an idea of what I thought would work, and with John's help we settled on the perfect awning solution. I do believe the quality of his work help sell that property when I was ready to move. In our new home he helped us decide on the solution to two different sunshine, and rain refuge awning solutions. We are enjoying his excellent work once again. We highly recommend Liquid Awning for your sun shade needs. John has great ideas for creative solutions and the actual awning is of excellent quality. read more

John made everything so easy. He was able to guide me about what kind of shade would be best for our patio. Definitely wasn't trying to talk me into more than we needed and I'm so pleased with how it turned out. My only regret was not doing it years ago! I recommend Liquid Canvas wholeheartedly! read more

John S., the owner of Liquid Canvas installed this gorgeous hand stitched automatic retractable awning this morning with his team. It has a wind sensor so it will automatically retract if it gets too windy. The bronze fixtures match our house perfectly. John came out for the consultation and we spent over an hour going over the options. His attention to detail and pride he takes in his craft is apparent in every interaction we have had with him. John came out to oversee the team as they installed it and to make sure we were 100% satisfied. We are so impressed with the craftsmanship, installation and ease of us. 100% recommend Liquid Canvas! read more

We wanted to replace our two palapa patio covers (free standing and attached) with canvas (Sunbrella) to reduce fire hazard and improve the look. Both were rather large, had complex curves, slopes, angles and needed custom fitting. John did an outstanding job. Fit was perfect (including striped valances). John does quality work at a reasonable price. He communicates well and meets commitments. Highly recommended. read more

We couldn't have asked for a better experience with our custom canvas needs than we had with John and Liquid Canvas. We have a large, custom fire pit in our backyard, and we wanted to protect it from rain and debris. John helped us decide on material, closures, etc., and he was spot on with every decision. We've had our cover for 3 years now, and it's held up so well over time. It practically looks new, and the fire pit has been completely protected. The price was extremely reasonable, and the turnaround time for the custom work was quick. I would definitely recommend Liquid Canvas to anyone. read more

I am very sorry to leave this review! I had John do an awning for my home in Cardiff By the Sea years ago and he did a great job. I referred all of my friends and business associates to John over the years! When I sold my home in Cardiff I wanted to take my awning with me so I called John. He took my awning down and said he would make new canvas and said my old canvas ripped but never showed me and took nothing canvas. He asked me to pay him in cash and I agreed! I had to hire help to take my awning to a new home and he gave me a date it would be ready. He was late saying he was still sewing it. He came and put it on my frame that I had help sanding and painting! It looked okay but was on the ground so we did not see the valance! After hiring help to take the frame and canvas 110 miles and hang it at my new home we could not believe how bad the valance looked. It looked awful! Crooked, and looked as if it was a hurry up job and I was shocked! I called John and he did not return my call so I called again to tell him this! Thinking that I would need to have my help drive back the awning to make it right! He answered and was extremely rude saying it fit when he dropped it off (I never saw the valance because the awning was on the ground). He said it was probably the fault of the man that hung it which was not true because the awning was okay but the valance was awful! He was extremely rude and said he would not fix it because he would be out of pocket! I told him I was really disappointed and he said he had company and I was bothering him and hung up on me! I am still in shock and wish I had not paid him in cash, because the only recourse I have is small claims court! I guess he didn't care and showed his true colors because I was no longer living in the area! I could have had an awning done much much less expensive in the town I moved too. I wanted to keep my same awning because I loved it! I'm sure he took it to use it because he would not return it when I asked him ! Please beware!! Johns integraty and caring about his business is no longer true!! He took my beautiful awning, charged me $725.00 for new canvas! No installation! No guarantee! Took my old awning without my permission! I had to hire transport, hanging and the refurbishing of my frame , so all in all I have a completely unusable canvas for 1300.00, with no guarantee! Beware if you do use the business do not pay him cash! I thought he was trustworthy and found out the hard way that this was not the case and now must take him to small claims court!! I would have left no stars if I was able too!! read more
