Avoid this place! I am in need of a car! Went in & test drove a 2005 today camry. They claimed it only had one owner and it had low mileage but after test driving it and checking the paperwork I came to the realization that they had played with the mileage and turned it back some when I bought it to their attention they acted very stupid and dumbfounded and this one guy with a big beard was very rude and condescending and he quoted that the car was going to get sold anyway he was very dismissive and unprofessional. read more

Efrin made the job quick and was a miracle for not myself but car as well. He has a great attitude while making an impact on others.

I can't say enough good things about Lipsey Muffler & Tire here in Vallejo. From the moment I walked in, I felt comfortable and taken care of. The gentleman who helped me was straight to the point, but also went the extra mile--he did additional research to make sure I was getting charged the right price for all the parts I needed. That kind of honesty and attention to detail is rare these days. They repaired my car within the exact timeframe they promised, and even went above and beyond by referring me to other trusted local businesses for services they don't handle themselves. That shows me they truly care about their customers and our community, not just about making a sale. This is a true local Vallejo business that treats people right. Professional, trustworthy, and community-minded. I highly recommend them to anyone in need of auto repair or tires. Thank you guys so much--definitely a 5-star experience! read more

I called prior to bringing in my SUV. I got an estimate over the phone with Jerry to replace my catalytic converter. He gave me a very competitive pricing compared to the other shops I called. In fact do go here for any estimates first. Trust me, it's great value. When I brought my car in it was done within an hour as promised. When I was picking up my SUV the technician Alonzo also recommended that I needed a tune up and bring it back whenever I can. I did return a few days later and they performed the tune up needed. I like this shop because they are very honest with the pricing. Jerry is very easy to talk to and he's been at this establishment for a long time. He is super knowledgeable and will suggest the best service for your vehicle. Alonzo the technician is also as kind and efficient. I hope the owner sees this review*** You have amazing employees. I hope you do give them kudos because you just earned a new repeat customer. Service is top notch because of these two men. Thank you so much! read more

If I could give ZERO stars I would. Used to be the place to go for exhaust repairs. They do not stand behind the work done in their shop or the people that work for them. The exhaust work done at this shop by inexperienced staff has caused two of people to get carbon monoxide poisoning and we can't drive vehicle. The staff the owner has running his business is the most disrespectful and unprofessional. Employees pocket monies for work and that's personally not my problem. The work needs to be redone and repaired properly, so off to another shop we go, so I pay twice and followup in court. I WOULDN'T TAKE MY HOT WHEELS HERE TO HAVE ANY WORK DONE!!!! BEWARE THIS EXHAUST LEAKING INTO THE CAB OF THE VEHICLE IMPACTED DRIVER SO BADLY THAT IF HE WOULD OF PASSED OUT COULD OF BEEN DEADLY TO MANY !!!! read more

Honestly these guys were friendly and fast. Brought my truck in to get flowmaster mufflers installed. They had them in stock, their prices were good compared to 4 other places I called, and they had the cut off pipes I wanted. They told me come back in an hour and a half and my truck sounded amazing. Friendly service, honest prices and good customer service. read more

I recently purchased an aftermarket axle back system and attempted to install myself. Luckily I gave up and gave these guys a call after finding them on "maps". Chris told me to come by and he'd analyze exactly what I'd need. He did, turns out the part I purchased privately was not an exact fit. Chris however is talented and efficient and was able custom cut metal and weld so that it fit like a glove with absolutely no exhaust leaks. Chris was professional and great to work with and completely transformed the sound of my car, while also adding some power all for a fair price. Big thanks to the team over there! I've been trying to get my muffler welded on for the past 2 weeks but all the other shops were over charging. It's funny when a shop tries you but I've worked for my multiple dealerships doing their billing & I know how much a job like this costs. I paid less than $100, they took me right away, & the job was done in less that an hour. I'll definitely be back again. read more

Our SUV's Catalytic Converter was nearly stolen the other night. We didn't think it was rampant until it finally happened to us right on my driveway. Thanks to our watchful neighbor, the theft attempt was a failure. And thanks also to our friendly neighbor shop - Lipsey's for the speedy accommodation. Not only did they fix the cut, they also able to customized the cage to secure it. Truly appreciated the excellent job, friendly staff and reasonable pricing. You're a lifesaver! I called and spoke to Adrian. I had a complicated question about replacing a catalytic converter. It's the first time I've taken my new vehicle (2016 Mustang) to get any work done outside of basic aesthetics like tinted windows, etc., so I was initially nervous; I didn't want to ruin a 2-month old car by allowing "just any" mechanic to work on it. But a combination of Pedro's humor and Jerry's experience helped ease those nerves. I got to the shop early, since it was my day off, and they served my car immediately. The exhaust system from American Muscle (specialists in Ford aftermarket products) had too much drone for me, so the Flowmasters at Lipseys were perfect! Specifically, I got Flowmasters (40 series) with stainless steel exhausts (both purchased from Lipseys). Though the aforementioned exhaust tip was initially unavailable, Jerry ordered it and it arrived within the hour! Both he and Pedro involved me in the process by talking me through what was going on. Roughly an hour-or-so later, it was done and I love it! Nice deep growl without it being overwhelming "racey" since the vehicle is my daily driver. Excellent work, Lipseys! I highly recommend this place for both their service and reasonable pricing. read more

I worked with Adrian and was very impressed with the Lipsey's operation. I needed a catalytic converter and was told by another mechanic shop basically "Good luck" because it was going to cost me around $2000.00! If I could find it at all. I was relieved that Adrian was able to make a few phone calls and arrange for one to be installed that very same day! For almost 1/3 the cost the other shop would have had me pay. They even gave me a ride home. I would highly recommend Lipsey's! read more

Had some work done on my BMW here. My regular muffler shop wasnt open Saturdays and thats 1/2 of how I ended up here. I never really bothered before since they are in a not so good area smack dab on Sonoma. This goes to show you to never judge a book by its cover. I got fast, fair priced, and quality service having an OEM performance package muffler welded on that I brought in myself. I didnt feel abit of "racicsm" going on here like Fattfreddie mentioned. I was in and out within' 45 mins or so and they took care of my old muffler I didnt want along w/ the huge box I came in with. Kudos to these guys at Lipseys. Im gonna give them a shot at an oil change in about 1k miles. I met Adrian the owner. I felt they tried to take care of me especially considering the condition I brought my car in. I hadn't had it looked at in a while and it was running really crappy coming in. They got it to run and most of the issues were resolved. Unfortunately the engine light came on (Adrian and his top mechanic worked on my car) after they worked in my car. Not sure if I'll bring it back though. May try somewhere different. read more

Called around 3:45 and asked if I needed an appointment to come in. They're first come-first serve. So that's tight. Jerry's a pretty chill dude. Came in around 4:10 ish, I thought it was too late to do a muffler delete, but he said nah. After he did some stuff, he was able to get the job done in half an hour, right when the shop closes. Jerry only charged me $100 after giving me a guess quote between $60-$150. tl;dr - I drive a '17 Civic Si and a muffler delete does it justice. By these guys. read more

Got the job done when no one could and a better price. 10 stars baby back on the road.

Exhaust pipe rusted off and welded back on. Then the other exhaust pipe fell off and I returned back to them but they couldn't weld it back on (thanks for the honesty). They recommend a new exhaust be installed. Gave me a good deal and worked me into their busy schedule. Their location is sketch but the people and service are on point. They get busy but I would recommend Lipsey's for exhaust service which is my only experience. Jerry was the service tech and a cool dude. They've been in business forever which says a lot. read more

If I could give one star review I definitely would. My mother got her muffler put on about 2-3 months ago well while driving it fell off again so she took it back he was going to weld it on again but couldn't get the car started to put it on the lift so they continued to try to start it and broke her starter!! now they are staying it's not their responsibility to fix it... how is it not your responsibility but your mechanic admitted he kept trying to start it and it did that... horrible service and horrible people !! Do not recommend to anyone ! read more

They're kinda old school in appearance, but very competent, friendly and reasonably priced. I had a poorly installed muffler on a truck I just purchased. It was tack welded and leaking. Brought it in and in five minutes it was on the lift. I asked them to extend the tailpipe out beyond the rear axle and exit behind the tire. Ask and it will be done. Chrome tip to boot! So nice to be able to sneak up on people again! LOL! Also, they are equipped for most automotive welding, burning, etc, brake and front end inspections. My truck is 52 years old and it doesn't scare them off. read more

My second time here. The guys are very polite and do good work for a good price. They didn't try to upsell anything when I told them I just need to keep this car going a few months. They worked within my budget and got me exactly what I needed. They also were able to get me in same day, both times I called. Very nice to have a shop nearby that can do good work even on older cars without breaking the bank. read more

I had an annoying exhaust rattle...Lipseys sold me on a whole new exhaust which it may have needed eventually. But evidently all it needed was a single weld to fix the rattle (which was what I came to them to fix!). When they put the exhaust on, the rattle was still present and the dual pipes were cockeyed. I had to take it back to them to fix it and they gave me grief for having them fix their glaring sloppiness. So I took my vehicle elsewhere vowing never to go back to lipseys. I was very disappointed. They used to have a great reputation unfortunately this place is not what it once was. Turns out the cause of the rattle was a loose slip flange on the exhaust pipe. This is apparently the usual culprit of a rattle like this. Unfortunately Lipseys didn't catch it. They costed me extra money and didn't do anything to fix my original problem. read more

I had work done in the past but not anymore after being treated like dirt from presumably the owner. I scheduled an appt to have a magnaflow muffler installed and showed up in the morning. When no one was at the front desk or whatever you call that dirty, unorganized area I ventured into one of the car bays where there were two mechanics. I greeted them with a "good morning" and the one mechanic shot back with "you can't be back here". No "sir can I help you?" Or "I am sorry sir but you are not allowed back here it is not safe" Just a rude get out of here retort. Nice manners pal. And I am a repeat customer and I was ready to give them more of my money. After leaving and calling them back I cussed him out real good and all of a sudden it's "sir this and sir that". SORRY but a little late. Remember the first rule of business "the customer is always right." read more
