In fact do go here for any estimates first. Trust me, it's great value. When I brought my car in it was done within an hour as promised. When I was picking up my SUV the technician Alonzo also recommended that I needed a tune up and bring it back whenever I can. I did return a few days later and they performed the tune up needed. If I could give ZERO stars I would. Used to be the place to go for exhaust repairs. They do not stand behind the work done in their shop or the people that work for them. The exhaust work done at this shop by inexperienced staff has caused two of people to get carbon monoxide poisoning and we can't drive vehicle. The staff the owner has running his business is the most disrespectful and unprofessional. Employees pocket monies for work and that's personally not my problem. The work needs to be redone and repaired properly, so off to another shop we go, so I pay twice and followup in court. I WOULDN'T TAKE MY HOT WHEELS HERE TO HAVE ANY WORK DONE!!!! I recently purchased an aftermarket axle back system and attempted to install myself. Luckily I gave up and gave these guys a call after finding them on "maps". Chris told me to come by and he'd analyze exactly what I'd need. He did, turns out the part I purchased privately was not an exact fit. It's the first time I've taken my new vehicle (2016 Mustang) to get any work done outside of basic aesthetics like tinted windows, etc., so I was initially nervous; I didn't want to ruin a 2-month old car by allowing "just any" mechanic to work on it. But a combination of Pedro's humor and Jerry's experience helped ease those nerves. I got to the shop early, since it was my day off, and they served my car immediately. The exhaust system from American Muscle (specialists in Ford aftermarket products) had too much drone for me, so the Flowmasters at Lipseys were perfect! Specifically, I got Flowmasters (40 series) with stainless steel exhausts (both purchased from Lipseys). Though the aforementioned exhaust tip was initially unavailable, Jerry ordered it and it arrived within the hour! Both he and Pedro involved me in the process by talking me through what was going on. Roughly an hour-or-so later, it was done and I love it! Nice deep growl without it being overwhelming "racey" since the vehicle is my daily driver. Excellent work, Lipseys! Called around 3:45 and asked if I needed an appointment to come in. They're first come-first serve. So that's tight. Jerry's a pretty chill dude. Came in around 4:10 ish, I thought it was too late to do a muffler delete, but he said nah. After he did some stuff, he was able to get the job done in half an hour, right when the shop closes. Exhaust pipe rusted off and welded back on. Then the other exhaust pipe fell off and I returned back to them but they couldn't weld it back on (thanks for the honesty). They recommend a new exhaust be installed. Gave me a good deal and worked me into their busy schedule. Their location is sketch but the people and service are on point. My mother got her muffler put on about 2-3 months ago well while driving it fell off again so she took it back he was going to weld it on again but couldn't get the car started to put it on the lift so they continued to try to start it and broke her starter!! now they are staying it's not their responsibility to fix it... how is it not your responsibility but your mechanic admitted he kept trying to start it and it did that... horrible service and horrible people !! They're kinda old school in appearance, but very competent, friendly and reasonably priced. I had a poorly installed muffler on a truck I just purchased. It was tack welded and leaking. Brought it in and in five minutes it was on the lift. I asked them to extend the tailpipe out beyond the rear axle and exit behind the tire. Ask and it will be done. Chrome tip to boot! So nice to be able to sneak up on people again! LOL! Also, they are equipped for most automotive welding, burning, etc, brake and front end inspections. My truck is 52 years old and it doesn't scare them off. read more

I had work done in the past but not anymore after being treated like dirt from presumably the owner. I scheduled an appt to have a magnaflow muffler installed and showed up in the morning. When no one was at the front desk or whatever you call that dirty, unorganized area I ventured into one of the car bays where there were two mechanics. I greeted them with a "good morning" and the one mechanic shot back with "you can't be back here". No "sir can I help you?" Or "I am sorry sir but you are not allowed back here it is not safe" Just a rude get out of here retort. Nice manners pal. And I am a repeat customer and I was ready to give them more of my money. After leaving and calling them back I cussed him out real good and all of a sudden it's "sir this and sir that". SORRY but a little late. I was in a pinch after I took my BMW to Concord BMW to diagnose a problem with the rear portion of my car and after a week of keeping my car in service, the problem was still not resolved. I took a leap of faith and had Lipsey's muffler and tire take a look at my problem. To my surprise, they quickly diagnosed the problem and without hesitation got my car running like new. The same day!!! They were extremely professional and besides doing an outstanding job they even made sure my light interior was free of grease spots. I had an annoying exhaust rattle...Lipseys sold me on a whole new exhaust which it may have needed eventually. But evidently all it needed was a single weld to fix the rattle (which was what I came to them to fix!). When they put the exhaust on, the rattle was still present and the dual pipes were cockeyed. I had to take it back to them to fix it and they gave me grief for having them fix their glaring sloppiness. So I took my vehicle elsewhere vowing never to go back to lipseys. I was very disappointed. They used to have a great reputation unfortunately this place is not what it once was. Turns out the cause of the rattle was a loose slip flange on the exhaust pipe. This is apparently the usual culprit of a rattle like this. Unfortunately Lipseys didn't catch it. They costed me extra money and didn't do anything to fix my original problem. read more
