I've been to Stadium Golf a bunch of times, mostly for the outdoor batting cages. They have…read morefastpitch and slowpitch softball, plus baseball cages from 40-70 mph. The slowpitch cages seem to draw everyone from first timers having fun to local league players getting in practice swings. The pitching machines are accurate most of the time, but you'll occasionally have to adjust to a wild pitch. It can also get frustrating when a cage is down or the balls get stuck, since there usually isn't an employee stationed at the cages. When it's busy, people generally take turns. I do like the shaded picnic benches, grassy area, and nearby pro shop. You can get a reloadable card there, then swipe it at the cage and press the button to start. This weekend, my boyfriend and I also got a bucket of 250 golf balls. I hadn't swung a club in years, and I had back surgery a few months ago, so I was extremely rusty. To the gentleman I accidentally drilled with a golf ball. I am sooooo sorry!! I'll be sticking to the lanes with dividers from now on! The golf range has a nice shaded upper level with TVs, a shaded lower level, and an open area. Everyone I've interacted with has been friendly and helpful.

Side note: I love the metal targets at each distance, much better than flags. Things I learned: feel vs real. (my head moves back more than I thought, left arm position at impact etc) While the new student assessment isn't really a traditional golf "lesson", there's still a ton of things i learned watching the replays and will take that info back with me to practice. Ideally after this, you would then schedule your next "traditional" golf lessons to improve on the issues discussed. If I still lived in SD, I absolutely would come back for more lessons.

3 years ago I was a 9 handicapper and for reasons that I could not understand I gradually ballooned…read moreup to a 14. Despite a lot of practice and a few lessons from different pros I was unable to get my old clubhead speed and accuracy back. Although I am 68 I maintain my fitness and my flexibility and strength are little different from 10 years ago. My first lesson with Brian was last month. I had some trepidation about having a lesson without seeing the ball flight on a range. However I greatly appreciated the fact that the lesson was completely private on his property, which made things much more personal than on a public driving range. His equipment and observations told me how I was striking the ball quite accurately and he made salient observations of my grip, set up and swing path that none of the other pros I have seen picked up on. After the lesson I returned to the range, and later the golf course, and I saw immediate improvements, which further improved with more practice. My weak fades were now gone! In fact I found myself overclubbing myself based upon previous expectations. I found that I could take one club less and still hit the greens. This is all after just one lesson! For those of you who have taken lessons from many different pros, as I have, you can really see the difference with Brian's lessons, of course combined with practice. He works with your physical capabilities rather than trying to teach you "his swing," as other pros have attempted unsuccessfully with me. This is especially important for a senior golfer who does not have the spinal and shoulder flexibility of a younger golfer. Thanks BRIAN, and I look forward to future lessons and swing improvements.
