The food was as excellent as I hoped it would be. I passed by here a year ago and said I would come back to try it. It did not disappoint. I sat up on the terrace soaking in the Latin vibes drinking a Flor de Pina. The mezcal drink was made tableside and torched for a smoky flavor. It was heaven. However, it got better when my Quesa Lion tacos arrived. It was a tuna and cheese taco with a zesty sauce that I've never experienced. It was almost as good as my Costa Azul shrimp which I made sure to take home with me. I've been a loyal customer to Lion Fish for a while now. Every time my family and I visit TJ, we always make sure to visit. However, after during this last visit we won't be returning. I checked in with the girls up front and I asked the ladies if I was standing outside, if they would come out to call my name and they reassured me they would. However, after I noticed I had been waiting for a longer time than planned I decided to check in with the 3 hosts. The girls said they had already called my name and I would have to wait, I let them know I was standing outside as we had previously discussed and no one went outside to call me as they had reassured me. When I let them know, the girl with the slick back bun rolled her eyes and told me I had to wait. When my family and I made our way inside, the host with the bun got a paper/menu covered her mouth and started telling the other host something as if they were talking about me. I have never ever felt so disappointed and disrespected in my life. I thought that getting the manager involved and letting her know would somehow make my party & I feel better about the entire situation, however she seemed to be very careless and unwelcoming. I will never be coming back here again. Our waiter for the evening made our experience even worse bc he added the tip of his desire to our check and stated that we had to pay the check in full including the tip that he added - not giving us an option to give the tip we thought was appropriate, which made our visit even more uncomfortable. Lion fish needs to consider what type of individuals they are hiring, I have never had this type of experience before. This act was extremely unprofessional and to be frank, classless. One of my favorite restaurants in Tijuana! Some of the best and freshest seafood dishes are found here. I have dined here on three occasions and each dining experience has been wonderful. The service is great; top notch. They offer valet parking because the parking lot is pretty small. A small price to pay for convenience and safety. I recommend ordering a variety of dishes to share. You can't go wrong with any of the hot/cold appetizers to start. The cucaracha shrimps are a must, fried shrimp, topped with parmesan cheese. The tostadas are delicious. The octopus and black snapper are the best. They have speciality plates and traditional dishes too (fish, octopus, shrimp). Some items are smoked and some are grilled. The Clam Chowder and 7 Seas Soup are just two of many cream and soup options to choose from. Make sure to share a dessert or two with your party. The flan, roamed crepe, and corn cake were favorites. Absolutely loved everything we got at this restaurant! I have no idea what they put in the mango aguachile, but it was so delicious I drank the whole left over juice. The steak was perfectly seasoned and soo juicy/tender as well. Oysters were fresh, and the star of this dish was definitely the fried pescado. Perfectly crisp on the outside and juicy on the inside. My husband and I LOVE coming across the border to eat here! The service is great...all the servers are so polite and friendly! We decided to go to TJ on Friday and dined here for dinner. This restaurant specializes in seafood and is pretty fancy. They have seating for smokers, and the crowd is more rowdy- I noticed that when we left. We sat in the main dining room and received complimentary seasoned tortilla chips and sauces with limes on the side. After looking over the menu, we shared the following: lonja lionfish, raw scallops, the aguachile sampler, clam chowder, the costa azul taco, and quesa lion taco. For drinks, we got the horchata, a couple of micheladas, and agua de pepino. I originally got the horchata, but ended getting the cucumber agua fresca because it was refreshing and had a Taijin rim. All of the food we ordered had a nice presentation, especially the lion fish! It was delicious too! The scallops were a bit hard and clam chowder was decent. The aguachile sampler was a good pick, since I got to try a variety of flavors and spices. The tacos were pretty good as well. There was another order of fish that arrived on our table, the filete coronado (that no one ordered), but we didn't figure that out until the end. It was not a big deal since we enjoyed this dish a lot. I loved the sauce that came with it! Overall, service was nice and very attentive, and the food was great. Food and service were 'okay'. I had the ceviche and it was way to salty for my taste buds. Mom had a tostada de pescado and one de pulpo, she enjoyed them. Dad had a plate with a variety of items. My dad's plate came out first which I thought odd given it was a hot plate. the server said the cold items were taking longer because the fish was marinating. So my dad ordered 3 fish tacos hoping they would come out with the cold times, and they came out before! He finished eating. Then we got our food. Waiter didn't seem to be concerned about it. A friend took me here for lunch.  place specializes in seafood.  I ordered a marlin and gobernador taco.  The tacos are really good and served differently than I am used to.  They tacos are served in half sort of like a super thick quesadilla.  Presentation was really nice.  Everytime I have had marlin, the fish is always served as paste like, like tuna. and never as a piece of fish.  Always wondered why.  My friend ordered the tostada combo which looked really good.  I had a bite of each one and each one was very tasty.  Only thing with them is I find them hard to eat as they are loaded with a lot of toppings. We had several drinks also with lunch  and they were very good.  I forget which drinks I ordered but the flavors were refreshing. I went here to eat lunch on July 4th. Appetizer was good, drinks were good, food was ok. While my truck was in the valet parking they tried to steal something or did something to my truck because the very next day I started it it had several lights on and was running super rough. After going to Lion Fish for the first time I now know why there are so many good reviews, it's not because of the great food it is because of the stupid waiters that put an extreme amount of pressure for you to fill out a Yelp review before leaving the restaurant! So unprofessional! The waiters have a competition with each other to see who can get the most good reviews which I am all up for a friendly competition but to the point where they are constantly checking their phones in the corner of the restaurant instead of actually doing their job is not okay. After checking up on Yelp for any good places to eat and more specifically a mariscos place, I ended up here, very white , very neon inside with some very specific decorations. The waiters were super cool and very friendly , very fast, they offered up suggestions as to what to get and so I ended up with this fish that I pictured here with some shrimp on top, it was pretty good I'll say and if I ever come back here I'd probably get that once again, it was somewhat unique , fresh though , I didn't get sick or anything . They were seasoned just right and some had some crab in the filling as well. The rice was very good as well as all the sautéed veggies!! It was very filling. My boyfriend had the Lionfish combo and said it was the tastiest and delicate fish he has ever had. He was very happy with his order. He also ordered the drink that they prepare and fills up the glass jar with smoke then serves it to you. Can't remember the name but he said it didn't taste like there was any alcohol in it.
