Friendly staff and pharmacists, sure, but the intangibles of an old school pharmacy are all here: decent candy selection at the cash register area, newspaper rack with local and out of town papers, and a load of non health related merchandise. Need to buy envelopes, shaving cream, pencils, notebooks, and an alarm clock? This is your place. Need to fill a prescription and have a real human being with a personality discuss it with you? Step right this way. They still have little magnetic calendars for your kitchen with their info on it (free of course). Surprisingly it has the correct date when you would not be surprised if it read "1963." Honest to goodness, go into this place and look around, it will blow you away. I'm afraid and hopeful at the same time that I'll walk out and the parking lot will be filled with giant 60s American cars, and I will be back in the Kennedy era. Hasn't happened yet, but we'll see. A bit pricier than big box and chain stores? Indeed. But you get what you pay for. And this is so worth the price.

I wasn't able to do so at CVS or Giant Eagle - places I normally go. So I went through either the CDC of Board of Health. They placed me at this location. It's about 20 minutes away from home - not at all convenient. But to only go here once - it was fine. I followed the directions Google Map gave me and found it easy enough. It's in an office complex off Karl Rd. I parked right out front and walked in the door. The counter is literally right inside. And I was VERY surprised - it literally is a pharmacy and nothing more. Like a CVS minus the entire area where you shop for non-RX stuff. Now granted, there is a small area with shelves and a few items. I didn't take the time to see what was for sale. I had to fill out paperwork (the only downside of the experience) since I'd never been there before. I needed drivers license and insurance card, too. The papers only took a few minutes and then I was told to sit and wait. And I did - but only a few minutes until a pharmacist called my name. Actually, it was a pharmcy intern. Getting ready to graduate in May. She was a lovely girl in an OSU lab coat and I asked her about her schooling. She quickly prepped as I took my jacket off. Before I knew it, the shot was done. No better or worse than any other shot I've received in the arm in the last 50+ years. My COVID shot card was updated and handed back to me. I was back in my car driving home before I knew it! As I said up front - if only they were closer to home . . . I'd gladly go here again.

Plus I saw a big sign for CBD. I was there for meds for eye surgery; not sure why the docs only use this pharmacy. But, I was able to get down there during a weekday, and get in and out quickly. Parking is at the valet area, but if you are just picking up scrips you can leave your car there for a bit for free (pull to the left, let the valet know what you're doing.) It's a little place, in a big building. A small retail area, basic meds and a few snacks. And a big prescription area. The pharmacists were friendly and knowledgeable. I talked to a couple on the phone, and one of them in person. Got the details, got my meds, and was out the door in less than 10 minutes. I don't know that I'd go back here unless I was nearby, but it was a good experience. Not very convenient if you're in the burbs, but easy to get in and out, and maybe handy if you're already down here.

Thats because they havent even begun to fill it up less the customer initiates the transaction. There's lots of common and more offbeat kinds of things. I encountered a staffer who was extremely knowledgeable and friendly at the same time. It's got the regular drug store things like cough syrup and vitamins. There's also more interesting things like aromatherapy and incense. It also has bulkier equipment like foot massagers and the like. The store is overall kept pretty clean. It may be hard to find some things because sections aren't always marked clearly. The staff will be able to help you find anything so all you have to do is ask them. Momentum 98 is a great alternate to chain drug stores with corporate layouts. It has many things available in mainstream drug stores plus some interesting selections. The staff is very helpful and willing to assist you.
