I found it interesting that this restaurant is located in a strip mall. The interior was nice, but I couldn't tell if it was a fine dining spot or a sports bar. The atmosphere felt very casual--there was a huge bar in the middle with some booths and tables surrounding. There were TVs playing the Tigers game. For my drink, I ordered an espresso martini and really enjoyed it! My brother ordered an old fashioned and said it was good and very strong. We ordered calamari as an appetizer and liked it! They also brought out a bread loaf for the table and it was very warm and fresh! As for the entrees, we were honestly very disappointed. The food was genuinely some of the blandest food I've ever eaten. I ordered the filet mignon. It was good, but the minestrone it came with was missing something. I also would have liked the meal to come with mashed potatoes instead of 2 small halved potatoes. Additionally, the zip sauce was very liquid and not thick which I didn't love. My mom had the chicken Marsala. The dish had good flavor, but the texture of the chicken was poor. The gnocchi with meat sauce was a good portion size, but sadly bland as well. In the end, our card was ran on the wrong tab but the server noticed and corrected it so it wasn't a big deal. For what we paid, close to $270, including the service fee for using credit card, I honestly would've rather gone to Texas Roadhouse. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for fine dining in the area. read more

The food was good and our sever Zack was friendly and attentive. But my meal was ruined by the stupid choice of the owner to have Fox News playing. Why does any owner think that's a good choice. I go out to dinner to relax and have a night off from all the crap going on in our country. The last thing I want is a right wing propaganda machine playing in the background. But the topper was the patron who thought it was appropriate to have a puppy on her lap while she ate. And the wait staff clearly didn't object. I stand by my previous review for take-out. We've been there at least twice in person since, and really liked it. Lynne was our server both times, and she was kind and attentive. The beef tips appetizer is some of the best beef I have ever eaten. The last time I ordered the beet salad with beef tips added, and they were amazing once again. The calamari is really good, though breaded and deep-fried seafood should always be. A kids pasta for $16 isn't cheap, but it was double what the 7yo could eat, and the sausage (on top of penne) was excellent! To me, lasagna is pretty fungible - it's a sloppy cheesy mess, usually tasty, but not inspiring. One of my friends made a super-savory lasagna from a J Kenji Lopez-Alt recipe, and dang, that was special. Well, from a restaurant, Lino's lasagna was special as well! After my Grandson's Baptism today...we had a luncheon scheduled at Lino's as a private party. Everything was handled so well!! Drinks, charcuterie boards came immediately when we got there, they were very well prepared for our party. We had a menu of 4 items to chose from. I had the veggie lasagna, my date had the chicken piccata. Both were very well done! We needed a a kids menu, which was happily offered. The kids ordered small (they weren't really small!! Definitely had enough for leftovers!) and the pizzas were very cheesy and the kids loved them. Our server, Rose, was so on top of the whole party. We had about 35 - 40 people and the service we received was top notch! Thank you Rose and th blond woman helping her..I didn't get her name. They nicely sliced up our cake and put it on plates for us. It was just a perfect event...thank you Lino's. We will definitely be back for a regular dinner sometime. read more

Went on a Monday to try for my birthday. Sat at table for over 20 minutes without anyone talking to us, finally had to get up and ask if anyone was going to take our table. Then waitress forgot my drink. After all of that the food was bland, rubbery and drenched in too much butter. Family of 4 cost me $175. Not a great evening at what was once one of my favorites. Waitress screwed up my very unambiguous order, we both ordered the same thing, and I specified that we were both ordering the same thing she brought out mine then something completely different for my wife. She would said it would be two minutes to correct it, but it was more like 20 so I got to sit and wait and then eat cold food by the time they finally brought out the correct other dinner. I stopped here on the way home from work after a hectic week to pick up a pizza and antipasto salad. After reviewing the takeout menu I asked about the antipasto salad because they charge $19.00 for this. Did they have a smaller size (individual) possibly? The hostess indicated they didn't but that I could save any remaining salad to eat another time... I went with a large (10 pieces) Margherita pizza ( $20) and a garden salad ($10). The small pizza (6) pieces was $17 so I went with the large. I was told the wait would be 30-35 minutes. My order came to $33 for the pizza and salad. The thin crust (Margherita) pizza was very good. Fresh tomato sauce with basil and mozzarella cheese toppings. Delicious! The garden salad with fresh cherry tomatoes, garbanzo beans, red onion,cucumber along with the house vinaigrette dressing hit the spot. The food is good but not as good as the parents place that use to be on rochester road and tinker. The prices are higher - I guess due to rent and COVID. The portions are smaller and not really the value place to go to. Service as about a 7 on a scale of 10 and they never checked on us after they dropped off the main course (hint, the place is not that big, they were not that busy)- maybe the server had an off night. read more

Overpriced. Although the wait staff is exceptional the food is not. The meals we have ordered were not worth what we were charged. Porcini Mushroom Ravioli was $31. Came with bread. The tiramisu was not good. The wine and drinks are extremely overpriced. Pizza was Expensive as well. I feel this is the trend for most restaurants in the area now. I wish them well but I cannot see spending $120-$150 for 2 for pasta/pizza and a glass of wine. Not planning on returning anytime soon. read more

Food had no seasoning, very bland. Caesar salad was an oily mess with a ton of garlic. Gnocchi were mushy and marinara had no flavor. Chicken limone, chicken was not cleaned well or seasoned, no lemon flavor at all. No Stars! Lino's North will never get my business again! They continue to harass me via messenger and even calling my personal cell phone leaving threatening messages! I told them on messenger that I did not want to speak to him but he did not respect that and he even started texting me and harassed me again. What business owner does that? Sounds unstable to me! What started it was that I called them out for charging 4% credit card fee without informing me ahead of time! They lied and said it has been their policy from day one! I have been there many times and this is the first time I have seen it on the bill! After the fact! It is not on the menu I looked online! It is not there! I chose to tip the waitress 20% instead of my typical 25-35% and Tony the owner had the audacity to call my personal cellphone and leave a nasty threatening message! I have brought them tons of business by bringing neighborhood and singles groups! None of them remember any sort of Credit Card charge! So on top of poor business practices they lie and have TERRIBLE customer service! Do yourself a favor and don't go there. The food is only average at best. Good food and we often carry out the pizza which is one of the best around. Staff is great. Biggest disappointment here is not the price of the food which is on the high end, but glasses of wine are way overpriced. For glass of cheap Sauvignon blanc that I can buy a bottle of at Kroger for $10, they charge $12. I don't mind paying for a decent glass and wish they'd upgrade here. read more

I really want to love this place because it's so close to home. We didn't make it in before covid caused a shut down of indoor dining, so we were forced to order carryout. I ordered the pasta combination, which was linguine with meat sauce and gnocchi. The flavor was good, but the portion size wasn't even enough for a kid's portion. My daughter had the cheese tortellini with meat sauce. She liked the flavor, but again they really skimped on the portion size. My husband ordered the veal Parmesan and really enjoyed it. In fact, his side spaghetti that came with his veal was larger than my $18 combination pasta dish. We will give it another try, but not until they open for in person dining. read more

What a disappointment. The wild mushroom soap was water with pepper and rubbery sliced mushrooms. Awful. The bread loaf at the table was burned on both sides. I ordered veal marsala. The veal was rubbery, tough and the sauce heavy and overpowering. The wine was good BUT there were 4 fruit flies buzzing around the glass that I could not get rid of. Fruit flies in January??? Made reservations for 7:00 pm on a Thursday. After reading reviews at various sites I was not sure if I should visit Lino's. But my daughter gave me a gift certificate and my wife and I decided to go. The restaurant itself have a good atmosphere and plenty of different types of seating. Our sever was Ryan and he provided wonderful service. My wife and I both had a cocktail and they were great. We ordered the Calamari for an appetizer and it was done perfectly. A little cold but still wonderful. Our entrees were pasta and a steak. Everything was done to perfection. We were at Lino's North last night. We had an excellent dinner! The restaurant was busy, we were very understanding and patient. The lack of staff is is a problem everywhere but the food speaks for itself here. Your dinner is made to order, it's not the Olive Garden. (No offense to OG, lol) I came on Yelp today to give this review because I wanted to show my appreciation for the entire dining experience. I felt horrible with how the owners were treated by a table of patrons last night, they acted like ENTITLED grown brats. Our table had the following meals.. Risotto - excellent Chicken Marsala - a must try, it's not a cream base which we prefer. Pasta with Meat Sauce - Best meat sauce, not chunky. Chicken Piccata - great lemon flavor not salty at all. Great service... below average food. The chopped salad was over dressed with creamy blue cheese dressing and pricey for the serving size. The chicken cacciatore was nice and hot but the chicken itself was 'rubbery' as if it was microwaved. The sides were cold green beans and cold mashed potatoes... the meal was pricey with not much flavor. That was enough for me... passed on desert and walked out feeling dejected! So.... This place is awesome! I went for my first time tonight and took my family along with my mother in law and her LTP. Everything was great. From our arrival, the friendly staff, quick service, perfectly cooked food, and even the owner coming up to say hi and check in. We ordered the chicken piccata, spaghetti with sausage, ravioli, and chicken tenders (fresh and made in restaurant). The bread they give is delicious, the Caesar salad was excellent, and both the cannolis and snickers pie were worth every calorie. We all agreed that this place is a hidden gem and we will be returning. read more

Had great service and also the food was really good. My one disappointment is that my daughter purchased a gift certificate there and we lost it. I asked if they keep records so I could report the lost gift. They told me no and they were sorry I lost it. Just a warning you may not want to give certificates at this location. Many other restaurants keep records which is helpful. read more
