I stopped here on the way home from work after a hectic week to pick up a pizza and antipasto salad. After reviewing the takeout menu I asked about the antipasto salad because they charge $19.00 for this. Did they have a smaller size (individual) possibly? The hostess indicated they didn't but that I could save any remaining salad to eat another time... I went with a large (10 pieces) Margherita pizza ( $20) and a garden salad ($10). The small pizza (6) pieces was $17 so I went with the large. I was told the wait would be 30-35 minutes. My order came to $33 for the pizza and salad. The thin crust (Margherita) pizza was very good. Fresh tomato sauce with basil and mozzarella cheese toppings. Delicious! The garden salad with fresh cherry tomatoes, garbanzo beans, red onion, cucumber along with the house vinaigrette dressing hit the spot. Definitely looking forward to sample many of the fresh pasta dishes in the near future.

We walked in without reservations and we're seated right away. We got our drinks and apps fairly quickly as well. We really liked the cute fishbowl cocktail. It was evenly mixed and tasted great! I had a few questions about how portions worked compared to weight and our server was easily able to answer without getting too technical. We did not have to wait long at all to get our food either. The seafood boils came out in a tied bag on a tray and a trash can, bibs, gloves, a shell cracker, and shell splitter were given to us for ease of eating. As soon as we poured those bags onto our trays our mouths were watering. It looked so good and it tasted even better. We both got the A+ seasoning which is all of their seasonings mixed together and we liked it a lot. My sister got it with a medium spice level and said she didn't taste much spice as if it was a mild spice level like what I got but still tasted good. The seafood was fresh as well. I loved the snow crab legs and they were decently sized too. It wasn't too loud inside and not too busy for a Friday night and we enjoyed ourselves a lot. Everything was decently priced and the bathrooms were fairly clean as well. Overall we liked the place a lot and would come here again.

The bar area had a smattering of people in it but it's just not doing brisk business. It's in a great location and it's a very comfortable atmosphere- one of those places you could sit down at the bar for several hours and not miss losing that time. Food is decent and like that each day fish is brought in so it's not just sitting in a freezer in the back. Had the shrimp & lobster stuffed cod; perfect serving size with mashed potatoes but the broccolini was very tough. Overall good plate. They also make a very nice old fashioned. Would probably try it again and see what else is good if they can stay open.

On top of that, the soups came out cold not once, but twice, which was frustrating and unacceptable for a restaurant of this caliber. To make matters worse, I found a hair in my mashed potatoes, which completely ruined the meal. I would never send any of my clients here or recommend this restaurant to other physicians. The slow service, cold food, and cleanliness issue made the entire experience unacceptable. Unfortunately, this was a very poor visit and not a place I would feel comfortable recommending.

Sorry but when I pay close to $14.00 for a glass of well wine, I expect the food to be "top shelf" and the service to be 2nd to none simply because of the KRUSE name.

The miso soup came out first and was pretty standard. The Tako Su had large slices of octopus with plenty of cucumbers. It was decent, nothing standout. The gyoza was actually an accidental order because I thought I had ordered shumai. Looking back, I probably should've realized something was off when the server asked if I wanted them steamed or grilled. Ironically, they ended up being one of the better items. I took them home and even cold later on, they were still good. The sashimi appetizer had a nice variety and was probably one of the stronger dishes of the night. Unfortunately, the shumai completely missed the mark. It was very wet -- you can even see it in the photo -- and just not how shumai is supposed to be prepared. Personally, I think Asahi Sushi does this dish far better, including the sauce. The beef bibimbap was also disappointing for me. I love bibimbap served in a scorching hot stone bowl where the rice crisps up and caramelizes at the bottom. This lacked all of that. In my opinion, both Asahi Sushi and Sumo Sushi do bibimbap significantly better. If that's what you're craving, this wouldn't be my recommendation. As for the sushi rolls -- the S n T and White Tiger Roll -- they were just bland. Not terrible, not inedible, but very forgettable. Overall, my experience was okay, but nothing about it stood out enough to make me want to return. The servers were pleasant, but there were no recommendations or guidance offered, and the food never really moved beyond average. I ended up giving this place 2 stars for three main reasons: 1. The servers lacked recommendations or menu guidance. 2. The food overall was bland. 3. There are significantly better sushi options nearby. If you're looking for exceptional sushi, udon, and bibimbap, I'd personally recommend Asahi Sushi instead. It's only about 12 minutes away and, in my opinion, absolutely worth the drive for the quality, presentation, service, and overall experience.

She ordered a 7 ounce filet medium rare which came out rare and needed to go back on the grill. Overall presentation was poor and the fillet was DRY! The final 'kicker' came when bill arrived and the free entree removed was my $17 California tacos! I was completely shocked and my wife asked me not to say anything to our server. As a frequent diner and supporter for over 30 years, I expect more from your establishments and quite honestly have seen the quality of food decline over the past few years. Looking forward to your response... I was going to post on Yelp but my spouse suggested I reach out to you directly. Thanks in advance for your attention to this issue. Kruse & Muers response: Hi - I'm sorry the filet was not cooked to your wife's liking the first time. Had we known the replacement was also not up to standard, we would have been happy to provide a replacement. I don't think I've ever heard of a medium rare filet being dry and will be sure to speak with our chef so that he can investigate. I encourage you to always let a server or manager know if you are unhappy at the time of service so that they can provide immediate resolution. Plate presentation on our steaks has been defined by Bill Kruse. I know for some, it can be underwhelming while others appreciate the simplicity of it. It is personal preference and we recognize that we will not be able to please everyone. As for your Distinguished Guest birthday gift, it is a Buy one, get one free offer. This means the complimentary meal may not be that which was consumed by the birthday person. This has been the case since the program was first implemented. Redemption restrictions are outlined in the terms and conditions which must be accepted before completing your membership. We try to ensure these are very clear so no one is unpleasantly surprised. I am very sorry that in your case, we missed that mark. While food costs have continued to rise, we have made it a point to not lower our quality standards or make recipe adjustments which would most certainly result in a decline. Without knowing your experiences specifically, I can only assure you that our commitment to excellence has not changed. We do appreciate you reaching out directly rather than publicly sharing. It is disheartening when a guest mentions years of wonderful meals without posting those positive experiences but are quick to post a negative one. I will be sure to share your feedback with our team. My final response back: Kelly - I appreciate the quick response, especially on a Sunday over the holidays. Quite honestly, I was hoping for a different response (we apologize for the food and confusion with the distinguished guest rules... how can we fix this problem) as you 'rationalize' each point. Going forward, I will take my dining business elsewhere as there are many options in this area and I will also share this experience/response.
