Very happy and impressed the patient care and how the staff interact with their clientele! We were…read morereferred to this office for a tooth extraction for my younger sister. We tried other offices, but they were fully booked until SEPTEMBER. This office managed to squeeze us in for the following week for a consultation, where they addressed all of our questions and outlined the entire process from operation and recovery. We were able to come back the following for the extraction, so I was very happy with the quick turnaround and their ability to accommodate our schedules. Thank you to Dr. Khayat and his staff!

If you have dental anxiety or a true phobia of the dentist, DO NOT COME HERE…read more I knew I should have trusted my gut from the consultation. I left feeling like Dr. Khayat lacked bedside manner, but I brushed it off because I assumed many surgeons are more focused on the procedure than conversation. I regret ignoring that instinct. The day of my extraction, I was extremely anxious. I hadn't had a tooth pulled since I was a teenager, and I'm now in my 40s. The dental assistant was wonderful. She did her best to calm me down and explain what to expect. She is the only reason I'm giving one star. When the doctor walked into the room, he didn't introduce himself or ask how I was doing. He simply said, "I'm going to numb you," gave the injections ("1, 2, 3...shot"), and walked out. I understood that he needed to let the anesthetic take effect, and the assistant confirmed that. When he returned, he gave me more anesthetic then started the extraction. At no point did he explain what he was doing or check on me, even though I was obviously anxious and could feel my heart racing. I understand that extractions involve pressure and pulling. That wasn't the issue. The problem was that he was pulling so forcefully that my head and neck were being jerked to the side, and I finally had to stop the procedure to readjust myself. I was visibly grimacing, yet he never once asked if I was okay or needed a moment. The only thing he said during the procedure was, "The crown is off." Then my tooth broke, which I understand can happen, but again there was no communication about what was happening. At some point my gum was torn during the extraction. No one told me. I only realized it after he placed a stitch, and I had to ask the assistant what had happened to confirm why I needed sutures. When he finished, he simply said the stitch would dissolve in 7-10 days. He still never asked how I was feeling or whether I had any concerns. Before I left, I asked for an emergency phone number in case I had a problem after the procedure. He laughed and said, "You won't need a phone number." That response was incredibly dismissive. Every patient deserves to know how to reach their surgeon if they have concerns after surgery. I'm a healthcare professional myself, and I would never treat a patient the way I was treated that day. Technical skill is only one part of healthcare. Compassion, communication, and making an anxious patient feel safe matter just as much. If you're having IV sedation, your experience may be different. But if you're having a procedure while awake and you're looking for reassurance, communication, and good bedside manner, I cannot recommend this office. I wish I had listened to the other one- and two-star reviews before scheduling my procedure.

If you're someone who has dental anxiety, or you've put off going to the dentist for years because…read moreyou're scared, embarrassed, or worried about being judged, this review is for you. I had excellent dental care growing up until I was about 14, but I also had a traumatic experience as a child when I flipped over my bike, knocked several teeth out, and had to be strapped into a chair while a dentist worked on them. That experience stayed with me. After my parents divorced, going to the dentist stopped being a priority, and despite brushing my teeth every day, I avoided dental visits for years. Eventually, I started having tooth pain and assumed I had one bad tooth. It turned out I needed two root canals and multiple fillings. To say I was terrified would be an understatement. One of the biggest fears about returning to the dentist after a long time is the feeling that you'll be judged. Dr. French completely erased that fear. She has been nothing but kind, compassionate, and genuinely caring from day one. She's the type of person who instantly makes you feel comfortable, and honestly, she's just an incredibly cool person. The hygienists and the rest of the staff are just as wonderful. Every single person in the office is warm, welcoming, and makes you feel like they genuinely care about you. The office itself is beautiful and has such a calming atmosphere. Then there's the fear of pain. I can honestly say I experienced virtually none. Dr. French referred me to Dr. Baines at San Jose Endodontics for my root canals, and I couldn't have asked for a better referral. Both root canals were completely painless. They prescribed ibuprofen afterward, and I never even needed it. Back at Willow Glen Dental, I was also genuinely impressed by how much they've invested in technology. It's not just a beautiful office--it feels like they've made a real commitment to giving patients the best experience possible. After my root canals, they digitally scanned my teeth, designed my crowns, and milled them right there in the office. I took about an hour to an hour-and-a-half break, came back, and had both permanent crowns placed that same day. No temporary crowns. No waiting weeks. As someone who hadn't been to the dentist in years, I had no idea dentistry had come this far, and it made the entire process incredibly convenient. The same was true for my fillings and every other procedure I've had. Throughout every appointment, the team made sure I was comfortable, answered every question, and never rushed me. Yesterday I finished the restorative portion of my treatment plan after about a year and a half of care. Dr. French joked, "Last round!" and then laughed that I was probably tired of seeing them. I surprised myself with my response: "Honestly... I used to have really bad dental anxiety, and now I don't." And I truly meant it. That's one of the greatest gifts this office has given me. They didn't just fix my teeth--they completely changed how I feel about going to the dentist. I never thought I'd be someone who could walk into a dental appointment feeling relaxed, but that's exactly how I feel now. I've already recommended Willow Glen Dental and Dr. French to several friends, and I'll continue recommending them to anyone who asks. (Just don't book Dr. French too solid--I still need my appointments! ) As long as I live in the Bay Area, this is where I'll be coming for my dental care. Dr. French is nothing short of amazing. I don't know what kind of magic she works, but she's incredible. Thank you, Dr. French, Dr. Baines, and the entire Willow Glen Dental team for giving me back not only my smile, but my confidence and peace of mind. 10/10. I couldn't recommend them more highly.

However, when I arrived, I was told I had no appointment. Despite the receptionist remembering our phone conversation and seeing my confirmation email, she continued insisting there was nothing scheduled. Someone from the back eventually came out and immediately "found" my appointment. No one apologized for the confusion. Unfortunately, the visit didn't get much better. After my X-rays, Dr. Kim came in, made small talk for a couple of minutes, briefly looked inside my mouth, and left. My hygienist, Kim N., then said he had checked for cavities. I questioned how he could have done that without using any dental instruments. She insisted he had used the probe, even though I know nothing touched my teeth during his brief examination. The cleaning itself was okay, and despite explicitly declining fluoride treatment, it was still administered. I was told my teeth were clean and cavity-free, but I left feeling underwhelmed by the entire experience. Compared to my previous dentist, my teeth didn't even have that noticeably clean, smooth feeling afterward. Even the first-time patient goodie bag was underwhelming. It wasn't personalized and was minimal compared to what I've seen other first-time patients receive in previous Yelp reviews. A small detail, but another missed opportunity to make new patients feel welcomed. Overall, this was a disappointing first visit. I'm honestly surprised by the high ratings. I won't be returning.

After narrowing it down based on ratings, number of reviews, review quality, office size, and hours, I was left with three options. I chose Orchard, and I made the right choice. This place has great ratings, which is pretty rare for medical offices for some reason unless it's a new Yelp page or one that people just haven't bothered reviewing. It's kind of like how fast-food restaurants and clubs always seem to have low ratings for some reason. Anyway, the reviews here are great too. If there are any bad reviews, you kind of have to use your judgment to figure out whether it's a one-off situation or just an unreasonable customer. This isn't one of those huge offices with a bunch of chairs lined up like the DMV, where they're just churning patients through like an assembly line. I hate those places because they always overbook, and I end up waiting forever for an appointment. Even when I show up on time, I still have to wait a long time before being seen. I work late on weekdays and can't really take time off during the day. On weekends, I usually catch up on sleep and don't want to spend my day off running errands. They're not always available on Tuesdays either, which can mean an even longer wait for appointments. That's why the fact that they're open until 7 PM on Tuesdays is a huge plus for me. As you can tell from the pictures, the office is very clean, modern, and well-equipped. The staff has always been friendly, and they've been very understanding about my tardiness and occasional cancellations to the point where I feel like they should hate me, but they definitely don't act like it. They also seem to have the latest and greatest equipment... I think. I'm mostly judging that based on how much more advanced their machines looked compared to every other dental office I've been to. Overall, this place is great.

I have been overdue for a cleaning because I haven't been impressed with my last couple dentists. So I found Vino Smiles through my insurance then decided to schedule after liking what I saw online. This was my first visit with Vino Smiles and wow, what a wonderful office. Dr. Chris is so nice, thorough, and transparent. Paulina did my cleaning and Sandra did my X-rays, both were lovely; and Paulina is a fantastic hygienist, who explained her findings as she was going. Paulina and I chatted about our love of hiking and skiing/snowboarding, and Dr. Chris and I found common ground with working out and our history in EMS -- it was refreshing to have dental providers who want to know about YOU and the staff here were people I'd actually want to hang out with more than once every 6 months for a dental cleaning! Additionally, the office is beautiful (makes a great first impression!) and the subtle attention to detail really goes a long way -- they have refreshments in the lobby and comfy sofas, they give a tour of the office to new patients, put your name on the screen in your patient room, and have TVs on the ceiling for during your cleaning. They even have a separate private pediatric cleaning room with super cute artwork for kiddos. I don't mind dental visits at all, but it's just one of those things to do every 6 months.
