One of our favorite Chocolate shops to be in and boy what variety of assortments they have. The different colorful chocolates at display is itself a treat to our eyes. The shop always a free sampler if you would like to taste-test what a Lindt does to your tastebuds. We are regulars here for some years now and can swear by the quality of the chocolates. Cute little shop in Palmer square right next to Yankee Doodle tap room, the staff are friendly. They offer samples. We usually go around Christmas to buy gifts but we came today and they had good sales. The flavors are plentiful, and everything delicious. I only wish they'd bring back the key lime pie! read more

I really like this store as it is always well maintained and smells wonderful. Depending on when you go, it's fairly quiet and the staff (despite reports to the contrary) have, in my experience, always been extremely helpful. You can purchase prepackaged assortments or custom orders can be made to your specifications. I suspect that if you go in three days before Christmas, you shouldn't expect Mrs. Claus and her staff of Tyrolian chocolatiers to wait on you hand and foot. No matter how whimsical the store, they remain a for-profit retail establishment that gets busy and should not be confused with a gingerbread house from Christmastown. Lindt is a Swiss conglomerate that also makes Ghirardelli and Russell Stover among other brands. FYI, Lindt is made in Austria, Russell Stover, probably in Astoria. Nothing makes me crazier than a packed store right up against the holidays teeming with tone deaf customers who still insist on sampling everything that's not nailed down. Even Willy Wonka himself would have them drawn and quartered... with no protest or intervention from me. Like I said, it's a nice place and well worth fifteen minutes of your time on your next excursion into Princeton. Just watch out for Wonka, he has an axe to grind. read more

My first time going to a Lindy chocolate shop and I must say... damn! There's a whole lot of chocolate! There's a wide range of Lindt chocolates to candies that I've never knew Lindt made before. I'm only familiar with their round ball chocolates. There were a ton of other flavors other than the usual you'll find at Costco/BJ's mix pack. Chocolates can get relatively expensive if you get carried away. The store is neatly organized, however it was so awkwardly quiet inside. No music and it felt like the central air was shut off. It felt a bit humid and stuffy inside. Also, with all that chocolate in display, not a single one for sample. Only one employee was on hand and he didn't seem all that welcoming. Verdict - cheaper to buy from Costco or even at CVS when you use your coupons from the CVS app. read more

I've been coming here for years and enjoy everything sbout is! So. Many. Chocolate. Options!!!!! They always have a seasonal flavor as well that comes with your purchase! For example they had peppermint truffle during December, pumpkin spice during Fall, etc. The store frequently has promotions for chocolates, they have a variety of pre packaged gift bags and boxes. You can also have them make custom gifts for you of all sizes! The store is located on the square with lots of other food and shopping venues, so I always stop by and purchase a few flavors I haven't tried. The staff is accommodating, very nice, friendly, and always helpful! They also have a variety of non truffle chocolates such as Swiss chocolate!! Highly recommend! I don't think this one needs an explanation. Lindt chocolates are worth killing someone for. Trust me, I almost had to strangle my pal to get him to lend me five bucks for truffles.They're delicious, but beware, they're extremely fattening and will induce a coma. Like most Lindt stores, they've got the "candy per pound" section, the infamous "truffle wall", and the candy bar section. Sometimes they'll even hand out samples. But this one, being that its in Princeton, is a little different. First off, it's bigger. And its got it's own store, which looks pretty nice and antiqued. Second, there's a lot more selection. I think there's a section that has some pretty expensive chocolates in an air-conditioned case, and this section also contains a gift area where you can send stuff to folks. (By the way, there's a cute Asian chick who works there.) There's also various nicknacks in the store....for example, they have this cool antique rolling machine called a concher on display, and it's supposedly what gives the truffles their great taste. But who cares about machine dynamics when you're surrounded by chocolate? Speaking of which, I saw the godliest thing....a big confectioner's glass bottle that cost about a hundred dollars, it must've had 200 truffles in there. It was top shelf, too. My daughter wanted to buy a gift for her friend and because they were out of the holiday tube to put 20 pieces in , they would not give her the holiday promotions. Service is great, I went to buy 26 lindt truffles which would have costed $13, the cashier then informed me that with the 50% off holiday sale, I could get 75 truffles for less money -- only $12.50! Customer service is terrible! We came intending to try out a hot chocolate but as soon as we came in we were offered a free sample of milk chocolate by this lady that seemed somewhat nice at first. I prefer dark chocolate so I asked if they had a sample and the lady's very rude answer was that after you get one sample you're more than welcome to buy whatever you want. Then she said " so what are you having, hot chocolate, cold". Since we didn't order right away she then ignored us and went to another part of the store. Needless to say we left without buying anything. I will not return to this particular store and don't recommend it to anyone. I wish there were more Lindt stores in this area but they've all closed! I only shop here because the Freehold and Oxford Valley stores are gone. On my last visit, the women working were busy while there were customers in the store. I asked for one of the nicer cellophane bags, as I was shopping for a gift, and I got a crazy look. While in line behind another woman mid transaction, I was called to the next register. The cashier was upset she had to reboot the second register to allow me to pay for my expensive chocolates! Oh, the horror! I won't support this store anymore, they don't deserve the business. When I worked across the street and visited regularly, I was treated the same. I love lyndt chocolate so this is hard for me to write. I am giving this store one star because I have never witnessed such rude people in my life. The people who work at this location have no respect or etiquette. I walked in with my family and was ignored when I asked about the store renovations, and when I asked again thinking the worker didn't hear me, she gave me a snide comment about how i should read the sign outside that explains the relocation. read more

I have been visiting this store since 2013. In 2018, it looks there has been a change in ownership. The store was renovated in 2018. Prior to 2018, it seemed to be family owned and operated. From 2013 to early 2018, I saw the same sales staff all the time. They were friendly and made the effort to generate repeat customers. Everyone entering the store got a free sample. They also offered special weekly discounts. Not to sound sexist, but one of the younger female staff looked awesome too! I always went, not just to buy but to say hello to her. Now, there are no more free samples, there are rarely any discounted items, and the staff are corporate employees who are more impersonal. It's the same experience you get at any other Lindt store. It has lost its special Princeton vibe. I will down-rate this to 2 stars. read more

Good chocolate, but not my favorite. The store in palmer square is pretty cute. Occasionally, they will give little samples, my favorite time of the year! The chocolate truffles are great and only around $0.50 a piece. I was really excited to try their iced hot chocolate, which I am disappointed to say wasn't great. It just tasted like milk. The chocolates are fine, but the service is iffy at this location. While yes normally the service is positive, but up until today I was quite appalled. My cousin and I were walking in there to buy chocolates as a potential gift and I did see that one of the ladies working there were giving out a plate full of free samples to three people. My cousin and I took a cycle around the store back to the register and I asked if we can have a sample of any of the chocolates and the man at the counter looked at us both and flat out lied to us and told us there were no samples, when the samples were right next to him. Even the woman who was giving those samples who was processing another order looked at the man surprised! He could have told us that we had to be paying customers which we were going to be and would have told him that we were, but made us feel very un-welcomed by lying straight to our faces. Yes, we didn't wear anything fancy and we looked more like university or high school students, but nothing out of the ordinary... Infuriated and offended we left the store right away. read more

I have always had great customer service when I went in with my white son. This time I took two black children in. No free chocolates for them! We were also told to leave into pouring rain as the store was "not zoned" for us staying there (for under 10 minutes after purchasing several pounds of candy). I don't know if it was racism or just a clerk who was thoroughly unpleasant today, but please go to OTHER chocolate stores that don't support this attitude! read more
