Just realized it's been 5 years since my last review so I thought I'd give an update one. First and foremost I've been coming here since I was kid and I know this bakery very well. Our Order: A bakers dozen (for a family get together) 2 jelly filled, 2 honey glazed, 2 apple fritters, and 6 white iced cream filled donuts. Execution of Our Order: Every donut was made fresh that morning. All the donuts got outstanding reviews from those who ate them. I absolutely love their donuts they were flaky, sweet, and tasted amazing. Seating: There are no seats here you will have to take the goodies to go. Staff and Services: Staff are always sweet and very welcoming. Their also very helpful if your not quite sure what you might want or if you wanna try something new. Drink Menu: They don't serve drinks here Food Menu: They have a very nice sized displays with multiple options. There is something for everyone here. They even have vegan options. I can't believe I forgot to review this AMAZING place when I noticed the photos on my phone. I went during the pumpkin show and my advise is to go early or not during the show because in my photo, you'll see a big line wraps out the door and down a long ways. Worth the wait, though. Circleville is Central Ohio's undisputed pumpkin capital, but the pumpkin donut at Lindsey's (sold year round) was just okay for me. They have cut out cookies, which I wouldn't get again, and a large apple fritter that was an improvement from the cookies. Then came the Maple Bismarck which outstanding! It had the perfect light crunch and terrific filling on the interior. I would come back in a heartbeat to try their whole fleet of Bismarcks. There's not much in terms of dine in space, but those donuts can be enjoyed anywhere. read more

This is a small town bakery that capitalized big time on the towns "Pumpkin Show". During Pumpkin Show the bakery is mobbed inside and out to see their biggest pumpkin pie. A 4'-5' behemoth. Their pumpkin pie, and other baked goods, are pricey but excellent , and regularly sell out. Waiting until Pumpkin Show was behind the community for the year, and the mobs were gone so one could get into the bakery, I splurged for my yearly treat of their pumpkin pie! The pie was beautiful and delicious. However, this is a $15 pumpkin pie with the pumpkin in it less than 1" thick. Less is not more in pie filling, and they used to be massive allowing one to delight and reminisce about their pumpkin show behemoth pie in the front window. It used to be a fun, overpriced, but filling and overstuffed, fall treat from a hometown bakery. Now they just feel like another opportunistic "fair food" vendor. Yes, the service was cordial, fast and efficient. The ambiance looks like the small venue bakery it's always been but without the pervasive fresh baked goods smell that help endear such places. read more

This is a hidden gem. Lindsey's birthday cakes are perfection. My grandsons tractor cake, complete with Oreo "dirt" was best! So, I've heard of this bakery for years... especially during the Circleville Pumpkin Festival. I mean, every time I've gone I've been unable to grab up some goodies because there's always a line wrapped around the building. However!!! I was able to swing by during an impromptu visit on my way to Hocking Hills. While it was snowy and quiet, there was no line and I had a ton of treats to choose from. Of course, I had to try one of their famous pumpkin donuts. Out of the three items I got, this was by far my favorite. It was soft with the perfect amount of pumpkin flavor and this slightest glaze over top. I could have eaten a hundred of them. I also grabbed a peanut butter cookie and a powdered donut with jelly filling. The donuts were definitely the highlight. YUMMO! As for the space itself, it's exactly what I would expect in a small town. It's a wee bit outdated and quaint but has some personality. The staff weren't overly friendly at all and the service definitely lacked but I was in and out of there quickly and got everything for under five bucks. Their donuts are good but sadly their other offerings have disappointed me. I bought a chocolate cake covered in white buttercream on a whim and was beyond excited to get home and have a piece. It was dry, flavorless, obviously a very low quality box mix. It was a huge let down. I've also tried their cream horn several times and while the pastry is nice and flaky, the cream is a very unappealing texture with little flavor. Known for their pumpkin donuts (year round) and gigantic pumpkin pie during the Pumpkin Show Lindsey's is a staple bakery in Circleville. During the pumpkin show they usually have a line down the block, but it is usually pretty fast. I got to visit in January when it wasn't as busy. I got a few other donuts and a cookie. Their pumpkin donuts are by far the best choice. The other items were okay. Everyone was really nice. Best pumpkin donuts I've ever had. In my experiences, pumpkin donuts I've consumed are concentrated around heavy amounts of cinnamon spice and sugar, and less true pumpkin purée and flavor. Delighted to inform you that Lindsey's donuts are the complete 180! This donut shop is small, and there's no seating for patrons to cop a squat. It's basically a grab-n-go concept: walk in (or order ahead), pay, then go else where to consume. Getting there just after 10 am, I was a little worried how much "freshness" would play in. Glad to report that these things are bursting with pumpkin flavor! And so soft and moist, watch out for any legit addictions. Yes, I could taste the cinnamon, but VERY little compared, and a fantastic, bold pumpkin punch. Also, these beauts aren't drowning in sugary glaze. Yes, it's light, not overpowering, mm mm mmmm. These pumpkin delights are a bit pricey - $12 for a dozen, but happy to insist they are WORTH EVERY PENNY. Incredibly moist, wonderful TRUE pumpkin flavor. Best part? They're available all year round. Depressing, but probably a good thing I don't live close by. read more

There was definitely a reputation to uphold when I stepped into the bakery since I had heard many good things. Even though I'm an "out-of-towner," I was here for work and we had a morning meeting. Our construction manager recommended we pick up Lindsey's Bakery for out meeting (especially the their pumpkin donuts). The bakery was a great space, you can tell it's been around for a while. My favorite thing was the giant pie plate that is their claim to fame as far as having the WORLDS LARGEST PUMPKIN PIE. The pie platter was ginormous. I wish I took a photo of it. The staff were super friendly and we picked up two dozen assorted donuts. They made it easy for us since there was such a variety... I think we got one of everything... maybe more pumpkin donuts than the others... but they had enough flavors and types that there was a wide assortment that everyone could choose from at our construction meeting. Definitely a unique spot for a "small town" but I'm sure the residents of Circleville love having this bakery as their local go-to place. read more

So glad I made it back here to find out Lindsey has MANY great things to offer except for pumpkin donuts! Yes, she does have those year round, but I avoided them and got a bunch of other goodies! For starters, cookies for 60 cent and brownies for 75 cent, I could already tell I'm not in Columbus anymore! Both were ok, but didn't blow my mind. What was great was the plain sugar donut, fresh, soft and fluffy! Their cream and chocolate icing is also very very good, I would prefer more filling than just one bite though. As an avid pumpkin spice donut eater during October at Krispy Kreme (Pre-Keto diet), my affinity is strong for it! This donut changes the game! So, I called ahead and ordered a dozen and a half and made my journey there. The folks that work there are very kind and sweet! I will say, the donuts were not as fresh as the first one I had that raised the bar completely giving me the highest of expectations. It's all about the pumpkin donuts during the Circleville Pumpkin festival! The line is usually down the street, but they do a great job keeping it moving. They have pies and cookies, too, but we always just buy a supply of donuts. They are fresh, and they won't last long sitting out so we individually plastic wrap some of them and freeze them in a ziplock bag. That way we can pull out a couple here and there and have our fix all year while waiting for the next Pumpkin Show season. It is a bit of a drive for us, so we don't go more than once a year, otherwise we'd always just buy enough donuts for a few days so we could finish them before they go bad. read more

They have really great donuts. I recommend the chocolate cream filled. I'm the oddball that isn't a fan of their pumpkin donuts. I find the glaze or something about them to be too sweet. I LOVE pumpkin everything so this was an odd discovery as it's one of the only pumpkin things that I don't really like and that is what they are known for. The pumpkin donuts and cakes have to have crack in them. They are addictive!!! We had a graduation party for our daughter (in June). We had family in from out of town and heard we had a pumpkin cake. They didn't get why pumpkin in June. It took one bite to make them get why . I ordered much more than we would ever had needed so I could have left overs. Bottom line is I didn't have any. This is one of the must visits on my list when going to the Circleville Pumpkin Show. There is always a very long line out the door and down the street to get into this little shop, but it moves pretty quickly. I think the wait was about 10-15 min this year. Once inside the small bakery, look to the left and see the World's Greatest pumpkin pie, this pie is really big and many people take their photo in front of it. What to buy during the pumpkin show is pie and doughnuts. This year we just bought the doughnuts. I have learned that they sell pumpkin doughnuts all year round.
