Lindsay Griffin + Co was absolutely amazing, even with the obvious protocols and safety measures. Everyone was SO NICE. I got my first haircut since January (ugh!) with Mary, and she was a ray of sunshine. She was extremely attentive to my request, while also factoring in my hair type/face shape/and overall hair routine. I love my cut! The whole staff was incredibly friendly and respectful of everyone's safety. I booked my next appointment with them there in the salon, and am already looking forward to going back! read more

I have been seeing Jessica 5+ years. She is personable, professional and patient. She never disappoints. I have had my hair cut, colored and styled by her. Her skills are excellent!! read more

After my appointment with Jessica, both the color and cut of my hair look amazing as usual. And I get so many compliments every time!

This is a bit overdue. I had been going to Lindsay Griffin for about 5 years and was happy there. Decent haircut though pricey. The last time I made an online appointment, I had trouble with the booking system and thought it had gone through correctly but apparently it didn't. I tried to book a 9 am appointment but it went into my calendar at 2 pm. So, I missed my 9 am slot. They called me when I no-showed and I was shocked. I had never missed an appointment. I knew their policy was no refund but I called to explain. Since the initial problem was with their online system and because I was a longtime, loyal client, I was hoping for a little grace. I was refused. Shocked again and disappointed. I know it was my responsibility to read the email confirmations so I take responsibility for that. But I also expected better from them. With only 2 stylists since after Covid, it's nearly impossible to get an appointment so I guess they don't value our business. Like I said, it's a decent cut but it's $90+ tip and takes a full hour. Today, I'm getting the same cut for 1/3 of that cost and plenty of compliments. But if you're look for a little decency, a little grace, a little customer appreciation and loyalty, you won't find it here. read more

I started coming to this salon when my stylist, Jessica, switched salons. When you find a great stylist, you'll go anywhere and this is the 3rd salon where I've come to see Jessica! First, this salon is just what you want in a salon - clean, relaxing, kinda cool and trendy (they have pink flamingo wallpaper in the bathroom, I mean c'mon!). The staff are always super friendly and I've always been taken right on time. They also have plenty of current magazines and a cute candy bar, too. Jessica is wonderful! I have a head full of curls that can either poof out and drive me nuts or weigh me down and make me feel gross. She's awesome with curly hair and I always end up feeling lighter and prettier when I leave. She also does my color and we've done highlights, single process, redish, blonder, etc. Basically, I don't keep it the same every time, but I always leave still looking and feeling like the best version of myself. I drive from Waltham to Somerville to come here but it's worth it. Parking has never been a problem. Street parking is easy with the app (I leave a little extra time for parking). They remind you about it in their great reminder emails and/or text messages. Bonus: It's right across the street from Lyndell's - one of the oldest, charming bakeries in the area! read more

OMG - this has NEVER happened to me... I always bring pictures into a salon and leave looking nothing like the picture, even when the stylists say, "yeah, yeah, I can totally do that." Today, it actually happened. I showed Keri a few cuts and colors on my phone, and I left with my hair looking BETTER than those pictures. I came in with dry, lifeless, just below the shoulder all-one-layer, dark brown hair. I left with exactly what I asked for - a shaggy lob with messy layers and beautiful, subtle caramel highlights. In addition to being a genius with color and scissors, Keri is really kind. She asked me about myself and she was sweet and encouraging about my job search. She also told me I could come in anytime and we could experiment with different products so that I could try to make my hair look decent when I'm on my own. The salon itself is immaculate and understatedly stylish. The holiday decorations are subtle and beautiful. The Keurig and jars of skittles and M&Ms aren't too bad, either. The price was pretty reasonable considering what I had done. The only thing I am a slightly sad about is that the curls she made with the wand only held for a few hours. The pictures I posted doesn't do the cut and color justice.... Go see Keri - you won't be disappointed. read more

Always love coming in and talking with Lindsay and looking good heading out

Love my cuts with Jocelyn and find my time at LG to be relaxing and rejuvenating!

I don't normally like getting a haircut but it was a wonderful experience seeing Lucy. Truly made me feel like my best self. If I could get my haircut every single day I would. What a lovely salon this is, 10/10 would recommend to everyone. It's not just for women either! I am a man! Thanks again! read more

It was such a great experience from start to end, been looking for a go-to stylist since moving here and I think I found my person. Thank you!! read more

Horrible, horrible experience. Overcharged me and ruined my hair. I was blond, and came in asking for highlights/foils, and instead they decided to do 'color correction'. Except, after 4+ hours in the salon my hair now looks gray, with silvery gray streaks in the front and warm chestnut in the back. It looks horrible. I cried when I saw it, and I have no idea how it could be fixed now without totally frying my hair or going much darker to cover up the gray/light gray/chestnut combo. Totally sucks. They offered to 'fix' it, which happened the following day. The stylist just decided to put in additional foils without telling me how much time it would take, or how much she'd charge me for it. I told her I only had 1.5 hours for the appointment as I had an interview that same day, and that I can come at another time - but no, she assured me she'd be finished. She wasn't. I ended up running out of the place with dripping wet hair in freezing snow, 20 minutes late to my interview. Because I was in rush, I just gave her my card - she didn't give me a receipt. My hair still looks awful (less awful than the first time, but still completely not what I wanted), I got sick from running around with wet hair in the snow, and I paid $180 for god knows what. Don't use this place, worst experience ever. read more

Very belated but well-deserved review of Lindsay Griffin! I booked her to do mine and my bridesmaid's hair for my October 2013 wedding. I can honestly say I could not have been more happy with my hair. My hair is kind of my "thing", and not just any old prom-esque updo was going to work. In fact, I didn't even want an updo. I didn't know what I wanted, but together we figured it out. If you want something outside the realm of the tight, cookie cutter updo, she is your girl. She was a genius with the extensions I bought to add length, no one knew I had them in. Not even my husband, until he had to help me figure out how it get the damn things out at 1am. On top of being talented, she was an absolute pleasure or work with, even squeezing in an updo at the last minute for my junior bridesmaid, who I had somehow forgotten to figure into my count! My bridesmaids looked gorgeous also. If I could do my day all over again I wouldn't change a thing about my hair! Thanks Lindsay! read more

Jessica is the best! She is a very talented and pleasant professional. She listens and her attention to detail is outstanding.

This is the best haircut I've had in a long long time. I'm definitely going to be coming here regularly. Lucy was punctual and professional. Gave me exactly what I wanted and did a great job of it! read more

I am an avid user of Yelp and meticulously read reviews of salons and stylists this fall when I relocated to the Boston area from Denver. After learning that Jessica's strength is cutting curly hair I booked an appointment with her. Finding Jessica has been the BEST Yelp find I have ever experienced! After asking questions about the texture and nature of the curl in my hair she spent time mostly cutting with a razor blade. My cut was tremendously great!! I have been so relieved and very pleased. I didn't think I could find a stylist better than my gal in Denver but I did! The salon is gorgeous and the women that work there have good energy. I look forward to returning again and again. read more

Everything about Lindsay Griffin + Co makes me happy! The salon is adorable and so comfortable. The service is the best from the assistants to the top. Lindsay Griffin + Co - Fresh color - Hair Salons Near Me - Somerville, Massachusetts

This was my second appointment (first for a hair cut, now for a single process dye) with Sheila and I cannot speak more highly about her. She's very talented and is extremely passionate about the work she does. As a Boston transplant, finding a new stylist was super scary. But Sheila exceeded my expectations! I got a balayage at a different salon back home that was way too blonde and unnatural for my coloring; she discussed the entire dye process, let me help choose colors, and listened to my concerns. She also taught me how to be able to style and treat my hair outside the salon so I can achieve the salon look at home. Again, can't say enough good things about Sheila and this salon. Thanks for helping me love my hair again! read more

Jessica's never fails to shape my mop head into something I am very happy with. She's a talent!

I've been going to Lindsay Griffin + co for about 6 months now. The entire staff is wonderful and I have always felt very pampered. I go to Sheila who always does the best job with my blonde hair and keeping it from going brassy. She is always so real about the process, and having had my hair blonde in some form or another for the past 10+ years I know that getting the look I want is sometimes going to take multiple different processes. Sheila took my hair from a brassy mess to a cooler tone on my first visit, and after the second visit made it even better. I would not go to anyone else. Lindsay (the owner) is the best and they throw awesome events! You can book online really easily, and they are more than happy to help you book the right type of appointment if you aren't sure. read more

Lindsay Griffin + Co - My hair was a total brassy mess and Sheila made it million times better in one visit. - Hair Salons Near Me - Somerville, Massachusetts

I have been seeing Lindsay now for a few years, and each time her service is delightful. Comfortable salon atmosphere and wonderful haircuts that make you feel new again. I know Lindsay has helped many people recover from bad hair experiences. I enjoy making the effort to drive 45-55 minutes each way to see her 4-5 times a year. So worth it! read more

I was so happy with what Susan did for me at my first appointment here. I will definitely be back. I've gotten used to showing other hairdressers a photo of what I want my hair to look like and never getting what I ask for. What has always bothered me the most is having my hair blow-dried straight at the end, because I never wear my hair that way and the photos of the cuts I like never have that look in them. Susan knew exactly what she was doing and she talked with me through all my questions and ideas, and at the end she blow dried my hair in a messy wavy style just like I had hoped! (Thanks so much, Susan!) This has been my favorite hair cut experience to date. read more

I'm so thankful that my stylist is now at this salon. I get the best of both worlds getting to be a client of Bridget's (she's seriously AMAZING!!! Been seeing her for five years and I've never looked back!) but I also get to be a customer at Lindsay Griffin & Co! The entire salon experience is top notch. The front desk staff couldn't be friendlier, the stylist are beyond talented and the entire vibe and decor is fabulous. Also I love to take shameless selfies after I'm finished in the adorable flamingo bathroom mirror! I can't say enough good things about this salon and have recommended it to every one of my friends. I can't say enough good things about Lindsay Griffin's Salon. I see Grace and she's transformed my hair color/highlights to exactly what I pictured. I feel so well taken care of by Grace that I'm comfortable letting her decide exactly what I need for each visit - she keeps a perfect balance of helping me reach my hair goals while also keeping my hair healthy and not overprocessed. She's super laid back and easy to talk to while also being meticulous in her work. My husband and son also go to Grace and she keeps their ridiculously difficult hair looking great. read more

I really hate to leave a negative review but this was not a peak cut and color experience. My stylist asked if I would be comfortable waiting with my hair in the sink while my color processed, but didn't explain that it would take an hour. I've never had anyone do that before. Then when she was drying my hair, my hair got caught in her blow dryer which again has never happened. The color is fine, the cut is fine, but this was not a $240 cut and color for the overall experience. read more

Always excellent! Great company, terrific service. Jessica takes very good care of my curls!

Lindsay is the best colorist in Boston, hands down, and probably the best colorist I've found anywhere (including New York, LA, and Paris). My hair is very difficult--curly, but with different textures throughout--and she's the only colorist who's managed to handle it (and see it through various color changes, without damage). She's also a warm, hilarious, kind, intelligent person and it's a pleasure to spend a few hours with her. The salon itself if calm and beautiful and perfect! I've also seen other stylists there, in a pinch, and they've all been great (especially Kerrie). read more

Where to begin? I absolutely love this place. I'll start with my #1, Keri! Keri handles my outrageously thick unmanageable hair like no one else. She has transformed my blonde and her attention to detail with my foils keeps me looking great between color. She is a perfectionist which means I always look great when she does my hair- and she is such a delight to spend time with while you're at the salon. She's a dream, and I can't say enough good things about her. Highly recommend for cut, foils, anything. The rest of the staff that I have met and interacted with are great. In particular, Dana is sweet, kind and so attentive. This deserves and merits a separate review which I will definitely write, but in addition: Lindsay did my hair for my wedding and she was divine- calming, professional, a wizard with my hair and the many different textures/lengths/styles of my bridesmaids' hair. I have never gotten more compliments or felt prettier- if you ever need wedding hair call her immediately! read more

Best salon experience I've had! Sheila is just the best. She is very talented, and has a chill and warm personality that makes you feel right at home. She knows exactly what she's doing, and truly cares about her clients. The whole experience is always so nice, from the beautiful and comfortable space, to the amazing hair washing experience (including a head massage), to the lavender eye mask I was offered while I had gloss processing - I truly feel pampered when I go. Thank you to the LG team for making me feel amazing! read more

Jocelyn is Amazing! She has this great instinct with hair and just knows how to make it look great. Really love the whole salon

This place is horrible. My girlfriend just moved here and was looking for a new salon. I suggested this place seeing I have MANY friends who cut hair downtown but a local salon is always nice. Boy was I wrong. After the salon moved her appointment from 10 to 11 o'clock this morning my girl friend was 15 minutes late. They proceeded to say that the stylist was double booked and she would have to come back at 1pm. Well she can't. Since she was "canceling her appointment" they tried to charge her $115 dollars. What a joke. They moved her appointment time twice and when she couldn't do it they said she was canceling it. They tried to charge the card but I put a stop to it. You should be ashamed of yourself. read more

Fantastic consultation and cut! Personalized to everything I shared. Lindsay was able to achieve a cute style I didn't think would be feasible given the length of my hair. Very impressed by her expertise! read more

I was in town for an event and booked an appointment for a blowout with their assistant Allyson. The salon is very cute and modern and the staff is very friendly. Allyson was so sweet and was happy to do whatever I wanted. In my experience a lot of salons will charge extra or don't have time for anything beyond a very standard blowout. But Allyson gave me awesome loose curls and spent lots of time making sure it was perfect! Their prices are super reasonable. I will definitely come back next time I'm in town! read more
