I had the shrimp enchiladas at Lindo Jalisco and they were very good! The sauce was just the right amount -- flavorful without being overpowering -- and the mixture of veggies inside the enchiladas added a nice touch. The shrimp was cooked perfectly, tender and fresh. The rice and beans on the side were warm and tasty, and the complimentary chips and salsa were a great start to the meal, especially with both a mild and a hot salsa to choose from. Overall, a really satisfying and well-balanced meal! The employees there were attentive and warm to us, even though it wasn't busy at all since we went during off-peak hours. Kicking myself for not getting in here sooner. Yelp reviews got us in the door. The food, staff and atmosphere will get us back. On a random Monday evening we decided to stop in. The special was written on a board by the door. The Guava Margarita caught my eye. We were quickly sat and here is how it went. M: Mexican cuisine is outstanding here. A: All you can eat chips and salsa brought to your table. Great Salsa. R: Recommendations from the bartender/server for his favorite meal. G: Guava Margarita is a must have. A: A large menu to choose from. R: Reasonably priced restaurant I: I had to fight my husband off my meal. T: Tasty meals thrilled us. A: A full stomach is how we left Hubby ordered Burrito Carnitas with steak, onion, bell pepper, topped with green sauce, cabbage & melted Jack cheese. The bartender/waiter told me he had the Carne Asada:Charcoal grilled sliced skirt steak served with guacamole, roasted onions and jalapenos. Comes with the same cabbage and beans. This was an awesome find. The suprise me portion of Yelp app didn't disappoint. Staff was friendly and service and food was quick. The chips and salsa were great and I especially liked the salsa. It was a little spicier then other places so I didn't need to add any extra heat to it. Margaritas were great what's not to love about this spot. read more

Tuesday...Ruby Tuesday? No...Taco Tuesday! This place is near the office and is one of the few places I hadn't checked out yet...I'm quite happy that I did. My meal was nothing out of the ordinary...a combo plate with an enchilada, taco, rice, and beans. Lunch meat choices are ground beef, chicken, and shredded beef I believe. This particular combo plate was only $8.75. My meal also came with a small scoop of "cabbage"...which is actually a Mexican-inspired version of coleslaw. More vinegary than the American classic...it was a surprisingly good complement to my main plate. I wish it came on the side versus on the main plate, because it heated up rather quickly. The taco shell was fresh and the portions were quite lavish for lunch. Didn't seem smaller than many dinner combos I've had at similar establishments. The refried beans seemed creamier than most...something I enjoyed. Chips and salsa are included.,,I was out the door for $16 including tip...which I don't think is bad at all these days. read more

As someone who was born and raised in California, Lindo Jalisco is my go-to spot when i'm craving mexican food for dinner. Not only is the service always amazing and friendly, the food is always delicious and perfectly seasoned. My favorite dish is the Burrito Gordo which is massive and stuffed with tender chicken. My wife's favorite dish so far is the Caldo Res, but she has tried a few others on the menu and has enjoyed just about everything she has tried. Not only that, but their chips and salsa is delicious as well! I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for good mexican food in the heart of Iowa. read more

Visited for the first time, seated quickly. The staff is friendly and attentive. Our food came out lightening fast! We ordered the chicken chipotle burrito which was a huge portion, and 3 street tacos (pictured.) the food was good, pretty typical traditional Mexican food. My husband expressed that he loves spicy foods and they brought him out two additional house made hot sauces for him to try with his burrito. We enjoyed the fast and friendly service, they even let us sit for a bit after paying to finish our conversation without making us feel rushed to leave. Food was fine and the menu is huge! We had cheese dip and Guac with our chips and salsa. Everything was fine but nothing stood out. I always try mole wherever they have it on the menu. Sat outside at Lindo Jalisco on a Thursday evening and could not have been more impressed. Staff greeted us outside with help finding the entrance and were prompt with water and drink orders. Miguel checked on us frequently bringing us extra chips and salsa; hot and mild were both very tasty. My partner got a chimichanga and I got the Lindo Jalisco burrito. Both were hot, fresh, and excellent. If you like your burrito to be overwhelmed with meat, this is not for you. The ratio of chicken, rice, and refried beans was perfect, complementing each other just right. The serving sizes were huge and we both got "to go" boxes. We ended with a complimentary shot of decent tequila served from a bottle shaped like a gun - shot...get it? The total bill for 2 entrees, a beer, and a specialty margarita was under $50. Overall we had a great experience and will definitely go back again. There are many Mexican restaurants in Ankeny, but I'd rate this one near the top. read more
