This was an awesome find. The suprise me portion of Yelp app didn't disappoint. Staff was friendly and service and food was quick. The chips and salsa were great and I especially liked the salsa. It was a little spicier then other places so I didn't need to add any extra heat to it. Margaritas were great what's not to love about this spot.

Tuesday...Ruby Tuesday? No...Taco Tuesday! This place is near the office and is one of the few places I hadn't checked out yet...I'm quite happy that I did. My meal was nothing out of the ordinary...a combo plate with an enchilada, taco, rice, and beans. Lunch meat choices are ground beef, chicken, and shredded beef I believe. This particular combo plate was only $8.75. My meal also came with a small scoop of "cabbage"...which is actually a Mexican-inspired version of coleslaw. More vinegary than the American classic...it was a surprisingly good complement to my main plate. I wish it came on the side versus on the main plate, because it heated up rather quickly. The taco shell was fresh and the portions were quite lavish for lunch. Didn't seem smaller than many dinner combos I've had at similar establishments. The refried beans seemed creamier than most...something I enjoyed. Chips and salsa are included.,,I was out the door for $16 including tip...which I don't think is bad at all these days.

As someone who was born and raised in California, Lindo Jalisco is my go-to spot when i'm craving mexican food for dinner. Not only is the service always amazing and friendly, the food is always delicious and perfectly seasoned. My favorite dish is the Burrito Gordo which is massive and stuffed with tender chicken. My wife's favorite dish so far is the Caldo Res, but she has tried a few others on the menu and has enjoyed just about everything she has tried. Not only that, but their chips and salsa is delicious as well! I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for good mexican food in the heart of Iowa.

Visited for the first time, seated quickly. The staff is friendly and attentive. Our food came out lightening fast! We ordered the chicken chipotle burrito which was a huge portion, and 3 street tacos (pictured.) the food was good, pretty typical traditional Mexican food. My husband expressed that he loves spicy foods and they brought him out two additional house made hot sauces for him to try with his burrito. We enjoyed the fast and friendly service, they even let us sit for a bit after paying to finish our conversation without making us feel rushed to leave. Definitely a must try, we will be back!

Food was fine and the menu is huge! We had cheese dip and Guac with our chips and salsa. Everything was fine but nothing stood out. I always try mole wherever they have it on the menu. This was better than average that you normally find in Iowa. It was a little too sweet for me but that is a personal preference.

So I went with his recommendation. First impressions: The place is small and nicely located in the District at Prairie Trail in Ankeny. They have adequate seating and were only slightly busy when we arrived (I would say it was at half capacity the entire time we were there) We stood at the reception location for a while before we were 'greeted' and finally seated. We sat for quite a while before the guy with the headset to came back to take our orders. This was the weird part - he was fine, but he spoke so quietly we were not sure he was addressing us or talking to someone in his headset. Eventually we got our orders in, and we again waited. Some time later the water showed up, then after another pause the drinks we ordered were delivered, and sometime later the food showed up. He even remembered the dipping sauce which I thought I was going to have to ask for. We ate our entire meals without once being asked how things were, and eventually after the food was all gone, he came back to unceremoniously plop the bill on the table, and after another extended period he came back to process the payment. All-in-all the interaction with this guy was 'just weird'. (It was suggested that he might be the son of the owner...) He was doing his job but there was absolutely not any extra effort put in to make us feel welcome, and the total lack any real interaction was off-putting. The overall appearance of the place was nice and appeared clean, the decor was fresh and classy. However the bar area around the kitchen was very cluttered and looked like it was being used for overflow storage and it was a bit chaotic and had lots of clutter. Please forgive the fact that I forgot to take pictures of the delicious food. I got into conversation with my friend and just forgot! It was a very well made traditional Gyro with generous portions of meat, fresh hummus and a perfect portion of super fresh tzatziki sauce. I ordered fresh jalapeños and they got that right too! The side of fries were delicious as well, seasoned perfectly, crispy and fresh, and the garlic sauce...well did not lack for garlic! Wowza!! Overall I do recommend this place for the food! I will most likely return and I hope that the service will be a little better next time around.

Still, it was nothing that would ever draw me back given the discomfort we three felt from the waiter. Sorry, we were hoping to find a gem. There was a small but steady crowd throughout the night and we had top- notch service from our server- knowledgeable about the menu, attentive in the 'just right way' - carefully observing drinks and not interrupting date night more than necessary. A variety of local And other craft beers were featured although surprisingly not any from Firetrucker next door! The holiday decor was still up but even without it has a warm feel- love the various table sizes and heights and the long bar with a pretty decent offering for cocktails. While there, the bartender was experimenting with drinks and having fun. After recommendations I ordered the French dip which was phenomenal! Homemade bread, warm, generous meat and peppers and grilled onions, flavorful dip . I will say if I ordered again I would ask to have the sauce left off as I am not a fan of horseradish sauce. Still, it was tasty! Side salad as option was super fresh with mixed greens and the house creamy Italian was bursting with herby flavor. my husband had the tenderloin and while delicious- it was 'bougie' and not the traditional Midwest. It was generous and interesting as a dinner option. Would certainly return as the patio is inviting (just not in January)!'

They're clearly well loved by the community too because the line was fairly long. But regardless the team was friendly and helpful! Which was so well seasoned, I almost forgot what I was eating wasn't meat. I also had the mango ginger lemonade, the perfect drink for a nice summer day! From what my friends told me, their nachos and tacos were just as good! So it's fair to assume everything on their menu is a winner and you can't go wrong with whatever you order.
