I was visiting with friends at 4:30 pm. The menu options for a vegetarian were underwhelming. No vegetarian wants to order a salad at every restaurant, and three of us ended up ordering the same vegetarian entree that was available -- rigatoni. Even the taste of that was underwhelming. I also ordered the cauliflower which was nothing special either. I even asked if there was specials or anything else the waiter could recommend and that was the only thing. The peach Bellini was maybe my favorite part of the entire night. I would recommend to grab drinks, but that's all. We had a private event in an upstairs room. Service was excellent and buffet food was very good. We chose the salmon, beef tournedos, verts (green beans), and whipped potatoes. The buffet came with rolls, salad, and tomato bisque. It was nice that they set up the buffet outside the room, allowing us more space. Just flown in for a short stay and was famished - stumbled upon this quality eatery so thought we'd try. Didn't disappoint at all. For the three of us we had a few drinks before the meal and Irish coffee, port wine with the desserts. For starters and main we as usual went all in to try as many dishes as we could so we ordered the crispy chicken wings which were tasty but not crispy.. calamari and shrimp which again wasn't crispy but very tasty and I loved both the seafood sauces. Also loved the bread which was served nice and warm with whipped butter. For main, the guys shared a tomahawk but I thought it looked very small despite split into two plates while I had the barramundi. The fish was cooked to perfection but the crispy shoestring potato fries were again not crispy.. very strange how all the 'crispy' dishes were not crispy... the tomahawk was tasty and well seasoned. Good quality beef. For desserts we had the scrumptious basque style cheese cake and the must have Post Mortem brownie with coffee ice cream and Kahlua hot fudge - this dessert is a must ! Our server Rob was very attentive and very friendly. We enjoyed the service - not too much but we felt well taken care of. As for the ambiance, the indoor dining is more formal with candle lit whereas the patio is no reservation first-come-first serve basis. I visited Lindey's on a Sunday morning for brunch. One of my favorite things about Lindey's is their complimentary valet! It can be challenging parking in German Village, so this service takes a lot of stress out of your visit. I had made a reservation about a week in advance and had asked if it could be for the patio but was told that was first come, first serve. When I arrived they asked if I wanted the patio, and I said yes. They said there was a wait but that I was first in line, which was fine, however they would not give me a time estimate. We ended up waiting about 30 mins -- this was fine as the rest of our day was free but it is frustrating that you cannot make a reservation for it (not sure that our reservation even mattered since we were just added to another waitlist upon arriving) and when you arrive you cannot know how long you will be waiting. I'm not sure why making a reservation for the patio can't be an option as I've seen it at many other restaurants. If you do have the time, I highly recommend the patio as it is stunning! We were seated next to the fountain and it was beautiful. I ordered the iced oat milk latte and my boyfriend had the French press coffee that they press for you at the table and leave the rest. We started with the beignets and then I ordered the Eggs Lindeys and he had the burger. The drinks were delicious and the beignets were also very good, they could have used a little more powdered sugar, but were warm and not too sweet. The Eggs Lindeys were delicious, the eggs were perfectly poached and the filets were cooked perfectly. My boyfriend said the burger was good, however, he had asked for no onion or tomato and they left all the other toppings off as well. When the bill came we were pleasantly surprised, as their dinners can be quite pricey. After the initial frustration of the reservations and waiting for a table, we had a great time. Lindey's is definitely a family favorite! My parents got married in the event space upstairs and I have nothing but great memories there. Lindey's is definitely a restaurant to get into and they do book up so get your reservations early. It's my go to for birthdays or any special events. My favorite is the Tournedos of Beef. You get two 4 oz filets on top of a baguette with bearnaise, buttermilk chive mashed potatoes, asparagus and onion straws. Everything you order comes out as perfection. If you're wondering about appetizers which we rarely get because the entree portions are so big, you should try the Calamari and Shrimp! My step mom loves the Carpaccio which is pictured below and she eats it as a meal. For dessert, you have to try Lindey's Post Mortem. You get a brownie with coffee ice cream, and kalua hot fudge. I've been here quite a few times for dinner and decided to come today for brunch. I ordered the caesar salad, french toast and a side of rosemary potatoes and I must say my food was very disappointing. My salad was underdressed and some pieces of the lettuce were frozen. The apple compote on my french toast was cold, the edges were burnt and the middle bread portion was extremely soggy to the point that the egg wash was seeping out when I'd press down with my fork. This is when I wish Yelp allowed half star reviews. I think the proper rating for our experience at Lindey's last night is 3.5 stars. We arrived at 8:30 thinking that was when our reservation was. It was our mistake, it was actually for 8:00. I appreciated that they still sat us and didn't make us feel guilty for the mixup. This was a sign of what was to come service wise. The staff are fantastic professionals and treated us great, especially our server. We started with cocktails. I got their take on an old fashioned that was $16, a bit much, but was tasty. For an appetizer we ordered the tartare and it was my favorite thing we ate. The rice chips were fantastic. The tuna and avocado were perfect. The sauce was salty but not overly so. We asked our server for recommendations on entrees. We got the angel hair, and it was great. The blackened salmon was fantastic. We also got the lamb chops and it that was a huge bummer, and the main reason for the 3.5 stars. We ordered the lamb medium rare and it came out hammered. Absolutely no red or pink on that meat. Ambiance - I have been inside the restaurant a few times, but this was my first time on the patio and it was absolutely delightful! The inside gives an old classic steakhouse vibe while outside you feel like you're in Europe. I have 1000% recommend going to the patio. Unfortunately, it is first come first serve so I can only imagine how crazy it is on the weekends but we went on a Monday evening and we waited 15 minutes for a table for two. Service - as always the service was incredible. The staff is always so friendly there. Food - the cocktails and wine are absolutely fabulous. Everything on the menu looks so good. For starters we got the potstickers and they were fantastic. I was actually surprised the serving size was really big. They gave you eight potstickers. The French onion soup is to die for, the cheese pull is just everything I needed in my life. For dinner, I got the lobster and shrimp risotto and it was amazing. The sauce was so creamy and perfect. All of the seafood was cooked perfectly. My boyfriend got the pork chop and he really loved it. The star of the show was definitely the dessert. Going to Lindy's over the summer and sitting on the patio is a must- it's simply gorgeous. I thought the restaurant week menu had options for everyone, most of it was executed well. However, I do typically like the regular menu better. Because the food (and wine) is stellar 90% of the time, when you are paying these prices the quality of the service will make or break the experience in my opinion. Reservations are a must if you plan to go to Lindey's. The bar seating is open, however, but it can still be difficult to grab a seat. The bar server was excellent. She was very busy but managed to take my drink and food orders and get everything out to me. When you dine in, you also receive complementary bread and butter. The thing crisp wafer like bread is packed with flavor! If you get the chance, I recommend coming during Restaurant Week as well. There are items on that special menu that are not on their usual menu. For example, there was a carrot salad and brownie that I don't ever recall seeing normally. And the duck risotto! Lindey's has been on my list to try for a while. It's one of those must try spots in Columbus. While it's kind of a fancy looking place, you don't necessarily have to dress up. Most people wore nice ish clothes that you'd wear at church or happy hour, but it's not a requirement. We came on game day, so tons of people were dressed casually in OSU or Notre Dame t shirts. Parking around here is parallel. We had no trouble finding some since we came right before they opened at 11am on a Saturday. Folks were already lined up outside the door, but only a handful. Probably due to the rain that there weren't a ton of people yet. Regardless, I had already made a reservation just in case. And we thankfully got seated right away. It was busy but probably not too much of a wait. My friend ordered coffee while I sipped on iced water. Refreshing! I got the eggs Benedict which came with petite filets of steak. I'm not usually a steak person, but our waiter recommended it. Delicious and filling! I was pretty full. The steak was nice and tender, the eggs were perfectly poached, and the potatoes were crispy! My friend got some kind of salmon dish which had creme fraiche on the bottom, 2 thick baguette slices, the salmon, and tomatoes with what looked to be radish or pickled onions and micro greens. Very colorful! She found it harder to eat since the bread was a bit hard and not easy to cut. To be honest, a lot of the food on the menu didn't look to be filling. The pictures make the dishes look kinda small. My friend was hungry probably an hour later. I'd go with the eggs Benedict with steak if you want something more filling for brunch. What a treat! Came in on a Thursday at 5:00. Bar was well represented, but we were only the second table seated in the dining room. But that changed fast. Within 30 minutes, the main dining room was 3/4 full! My daughter had the rigatoni and I had the mussels. The pasta tasted very fresh and was yummy, but the mussels were out of this world! Anyone can steam muscles, but the garlic wine cream sauce was just crazy good. Had to ask for more bread to even make a dent in the mop. I had surprisingly never been to Lindeys but have lived in cbus my whole life! Last night we went without reservations at around 4:30 and were seated immediately on their beautiful patio. The space is gorgeous outside. We started with the calamari and carpaccio. The beef carpaccio was great, and was a large portion for a good price. The calamari was good, but not my favorite in the city. I would probably pass on this next time. We then split a side Caesar salad and I loved it! The pistachios (I think ?) gave it some salt and crunch. I had to pasta that came with broccolini and sausage. YUM. The portion was perfect and the pasta was cooked just how I liked it. He had the risotto, which is his favorite there. I special ordered a drink that normally comes with tequila, with vodka, and they were happy to accommodate me. Overall I will be back! Everything we had was absolutely great! I'll break it down. Bread: you get sourdough and crispy seasoned bread with butter. Love how they added flaky salt to the butter. Tomato bisque: very delicious and creamy! Lobster inside and it was perfect for dipping the bread in! Angel hair pasta: had some very fresh blackened shrimp in it! Tasty and creamy! Risotto: had lobster and asparagus and shrimp. Super creamy! Their risotto rotates from what we have heard! French onion soup: savory and excellent. Again, dip your bread! Tasted like it had fantastic wine in it. Cranberry club (with French fries): this was a 12/10 and our personal favorite. It's generous with the meat but the real star here was the mustard sauce. Perfectly tangy! Key lime pie: a refreshing dessert! Perfectly crumbly crust! Crème brûlée: they were generous with the portions and the crispy burnt sugar on top! Perfectly refreshing and would definitely order again. Special shout out to Frank, our server, who was absolutely PHENOMENAL. Everyone here was gracious, fast, and absolutely lovely. Went there to celebrate some milestones recently and it was a 5/5 experience. I'm not very familiar with the fine dining experience but it was fantastic. The server was very attentive throughout the evening and the food was fantastic. The lobster risotto and the angel hair pasta with shrimp were delicious. The server even brought out complimentary toasts and dessert for the milestones I was celebrating. It's a place that I won't be able to go to much based on the menu prices compared to the places I normally go, but I will be back in the future for other milestones worth celebrating with a "treat yourself" kind of night. read more

Fantastic experience from start to finish! We went here for my surprise birthday dinner and it was so lovely. Because it was raining, we had to sit inside, but I will return to dine on their patio. It's stunning! Upon arrival and throughout the entire dinner, we were waited on by such kind people. We had to walk to the back to reach our table and every time we passed a different waiter, they smiled and said hello/good evening. A+ for mannerisms! There were a couple of things on the menu I wanted to try, but I opted for the sea bass. While we waited, some bread and butter was served. Yummy as expected. When my food came out, I will admit, I was a little disappointed at the size. The sea bass seemed slightly small and looked kind of weird! Lol. Maybe the bread and water took up a lot of space in my stomach, but by the time I was finished with my plate, I was stuffffed. So, the portion size was actually spot on! The sea bass was literally the best I've ever had. So incredibly flavorful! I'm not sure what the greens were called in the dish, but they were a very tasty addition. I really liked the potatoes too, especially because they were small and not super salty. The whole dish was excellent!! When the waiter overheard that it was my birthday celebration, he promised me a free dessert! So I chose the key lime pie. He brought out a slice with a lit candle and wished me a happy birthday. I am very appreciative of the kind gesture! I wish I could say I devoured the whole thing, but I was just too stuffed from the dinner entree! I ate three bites, which were delicious, but I had to give the rest to my boyfriend because I had no room left! If I did, trust me, I would have easily eaten the whole thing. I have been going to Lindey's since I moved to Columbus about 15 years ago. I've had many great experiences and particularly love their filet, chopped salad, and burrata. I love the ambience both inside and outside. We got married at the courthouse on Monday and decided to go to Lindey's afterwards with a few people. It was only about 3:30 PM so it was dead and we sat on the patio. Our server was MIA almost the entire time and barely said congratulations. She didn't offer champagne or dessert or anything special. Our food which was a mix of the risotto and steak and lobster bisque came out cold. We also had to hunt her down to ask for another glass of wine when again the restaurant was pretty dead. I love this restaurant but it was so disappointing to want to celebrate your wedding here and have that kind of service. There are so many other great places nearby that I don't think we will be heading back in a while. read more

We went to Lindey's to celebrate a milestone dinner, and we had an almost perfect time. The food and service were both excellent, and for being located in the German Village, we appreciated the restaurant offering complimentary valet parking. The restaurant has a beautiful patio, but with the weather being inconsistent, we chose to dine inside. The interior of the restaurant did not disappoint either - very classy yet relaxing. The mirrors and art are a nice balance to the dark ceiling and the copper-toned bar. Our server, Freddy, was very attentive and accommodating. He made some good drinks recommendations, and then worked with the bartender to get our Sangria just right. Both the Sangria and Pax Agave were on point, as was the Shrimp and Calamari appetizer. The calamari were some of the freshest (and thick cut) calamari we have had. We also got a bowl of lobster bisque to share, and it was very filling. Our meal came with complimentary bread and butter, and the bread, being a bit on the tougher side, went with the bisque well. Our entrees - steak and frites, the salmon, and the risotto were all equally pleasing on the eye and tasted delicious. The portions were also just the right size. For dessert, we shared the apple and cinnamon bread pudding - it was great, just like all the other items we tried. Now for my one gripe: I had mentioned on my reservation with OpenTable that this was a milestone celebration dinner, and the restaurant host even wished us when we arrived. We noticed the table next to us getting a candlelight dinner (which we did not get offered) and have seen other reviews on OpenTable where diners were given complimentary dessert for their anniversary meals (which we also did not get offered). By no means am I looking for any freebies here, but I just want to point out the inconsistency with how Lindey's addresses special event reservations. As an establishment that prides on doing everything right, I felt that Lindey's missed the mark here. I want to come back here for more celebratory occasions in the future, and it would be helpful to know what Lindey's does/does not offer as far as anniversaries/birthdays, etc. ahead of time (similar to other classy establishments in town). read more
