Food was very good. Simple sandwiches and hot soup. Little strip mall cafe was nice. Service was ok but it's definitely a locals place and the menu is a little confusing. The service is fast and friendly and they will happily make your meal just the way you like it. There are cute tables and I love eating here whenever I'm in town visiting friends. While visiting Mt Shasta, we got a cravibg for some warm soup and sandwiches. This place was very yummy. The only reason they got a 4 star instead of a 5 is because they hadnt made the chicken salad for the chicken salad sandwiches. This is a local favorite so we were slightly dissatisfied. One of the better lunch options in Yreka for vegetarians, or people who like sandwiches/ wraps. In fact, other than Subway, this is the only place for them. No more than ten tables or so, really basic decor, really friendly staff. I have visited this place several times over the years and have always enjoyed the food. Prices are reasonable, and they also offer blended drinks. Visited last week with limited time and 5 of us were served and out the door in less than 30 minutes. read more

My main interest in trying this restaurant was based on the soup angle as I'm a huge fan of homemade soup. Theirs is, indeed, homemade and the split pea I had and the chicken noodle that my husband had were very tasty. The sandwiches were also surprisingly well-balanced with generous expensive meat and sea-food fillings. I had a crab melt which was made with crab salad with enough crab to see and taste - it was very flavorful and not too goopy. My husband had pastrami and was very impressed with how much it was loaded with meat. The bread was warm and toasted inside and a little bit outside. It was soft and fresh. In fact, all of the vegetables on the sandwich were fresh and tasty. Service was prompt and friendly. The only quibble I have is with the chairs. They're somewhat flimsy plastic chairs designed to be used outdoors at fast food places. For the exterior seating, that's okay, but it felt a bit industrial for inside seating. However, I'm not going to dock stars for that point. The food is fresh, well-made and nicely seasoned and proportioned. read more

Tucked away, I hope someday they can expand, they deserve a cutsie setting! The food, the people, it matches something you'd seen in a super adorable downtown style place in a busy town.. I have had a FEW experiences where the staff taking orders at the time is less than excited to be there, but its rare. And I can chalk it up to knowing that everyone has a bad day once in a while and is just ready to be off work... But never have I had a sub par meal here! Great little cafe in the corner, that offers fresh soups, sandwiches, and our favorite- ice cream! They have several lunch combos on their menu, in addition to a few select daily lunch specials they post in house and online. My last visit I enjoyed the bread bowl soup lunch special that includes soup of your choice served in a bread bowl with a drink for $7.25 It was enough for two!
