    Ice cream freezer.

It was hard to get to this place has there was a farmers market going on. But what a great place! I came for ice cream, but wanted to order a hot dog. So many things on the menu looked great. No one was behind the ice cream counter when I arrived, but soon a youngster made their way over and very pleasantly greeted and assisted me. I was surprised there was no chocolate chip ice cream. I ended up ordering a flavor a rarely if ever order...maple nut. The nut being walnut. On a plain waffle cone. As you can see from the photo, there were a number of very tempting dipped and sprinkled cones. Might have to try one of those next time. That ice cream was so rich and flavorful, I may have to order it again. After I have lunch there.

Lovely little spot with friendly staff. We had some ice cream as a break while driving. Great vibe, good for kids.

What a fun and magical place!

Enjoying a hand-crafted shake and some fun time painting ceramics! This is a wonderful place to not only step back into time at the soda bar, but get creative and enjoy some painting time. Date night MUST! The owners Jackie & Talya are so welcoming and shared some great stories about the history of the shop. We loved every minute we spent here! Thanks ladies!

Ice cream after all that painting!

I absolutely LOVE THIS PLACE! so fun to go pick a ceramic item and paint. It's quiet and homey and the staff are so welcoming and helpful. Soothing for the soul! They have the best sandwiches here in town for a great price! It's great for any occasion, kids and adults!

Tika's business is a tiny bit hard to find...your GPS will tell you that you have arrived and you will be in the middle of Crater Lake Avenue wondering if you are drunk or crazy. You might be, but Visions of Wonderland is a tucked away corner of one of the three buildings on the corner lot there. Essentially, pull in like you are going to Squeeze-In Sandwich shop and drive around the building to the back. Tucked in the corner you will find Visions! Tika has a great attitude, a fun style, serves up coffee, tea and sometimes a sweet snack. You can bring your own beverages and snacks, as well. Tika is patient and talks the class easily through the painting, even challenging ones! I've been following Visions of Wonderland on Facebook for the last few months, and I love how Tika keeps it interesting, promotes the different classes, for kids, different media and she also takes suggestions for new ideas! If you have ever wanted to try a "sip and paint" or are looking for a different place to try, check out Tika at Visions of Wonderland!

We visit whenever we're in Southern Oregon and are never disappointed. Perhaps the most interesting aspect of visiting is that this is a working studio. Glass is blown almost every day and it's an engaging activity to watch. Perusing the gallery or watching new items being created is a great way to start to understand what you might like (or imagine broader possibilities than you might have walking in). If you're new to blown glass or merely curious, an entry point is their Orbs - which are amazing upgrades to any Christmas trees. Their amazing range of colors and gorgeous swirled patterns are spellbinding in the way they catch the lights on your tree. And that's only the beginning. If that's not your holiday, they have pumpkins, snowpeople and a range of other entertaining options. Beyond the holiday wares, they have a diversity of glassware ranging from beautiful wine stems and champagne flutes to chunkier highballs, daily tableware and a vast array of other vessels of every shape/size/color/pattern/wow. And then there's the artwork. This is where things get truly impressive. They have an array of vases and bowls in different shape/size/color/pattern/wow and a wider variety of broader glass artwork too diverse to describe here. These make unique, exceptional gifts that to lean into when your recipient deserves something which transcends what you might find in our homogenous world of online shopping. Custom artwork is not inexpensive, but we find the prices very reasonable for the quality of the products offered. Concerned about the treasure you find not making it home in your plane/train/automobile? In addition to being master craftsmen of glassblowing, they are ninja packagers of their wares. We have trusted them to ship our treasures home several times (including this trip) and have never been disappointed. The Glass Forge is an experience. The master craftsmen working there are gifted. Their products are works of art. Visiting is an opportunity not to be missed.

There were a variety of color choices and for me the best part was loads of glass to look at to get a visual idea. We go back and we have Keegan as our instructor. He's amazing. he's very patient super knowledgeable, and parting knowledge while giving instruction. When you select your item to make be aware that some items are former complex and others. One of the members in our group made the paperweight. It was a fascinating process to watch however, it was a lot of work. I did a pumpkin and it turned out so much better than I could've ever imagined. I would definitely come back here again

From my very first stay as a brand new rewards member, and 99.99% of the time thereafter, I have been greeted with a "Thank you for being a _________ level rewards member." I always take the time to remark to staff how amazed I am at the consistency of that small gesture. I'm now at the top tier (after four years of patronage) and it is still consistent. I thanked the person for the appreciation and was gifted a little Valentine's Day goodie bag. It had candy in it, sour candy which I am particularly fond of. This location is fairly new or recently renovated - oddly enough the toilet seat was one item showing wear. But carpet, decor, tile, all looked newer. In the dining area, they have the Costa Coffee automatic brewing machines. Those are fairly new addition in some of the properties and it really ups the coffee quality. Yreka also employed one of my favorite condiments, half and half in an insulated pitcher. I don't expect this at small town properties. It is pretty common in Washington and Oregon, where the populace takes their coffee more seriously. So, that was an especially pleasant discovery in the morning. The room was an upgrade to a suite (thank you!) and spacious. Though not a suite in the traditional sense. I didn't really care. It just had a love seat or small couch and coffee table in the room. I had time for breakfast, unfortunately bacon was not offered. So, I selected scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy. It was okay. The biscuits were moist, the gravy lukewarm (not a huge fan of sausage gravy) and the fake eggs (I'm sure made from some packaged eggs.) were edible. But the coffee was good, even better with the fresh half and half. All HIEs have a great spread for their complimentary breakfast. Usually something for everyone. Pancake machine, warm cinnamon rolls, cereals, some form of eggs, and a breakfast meat or two, fruit, yogurt, juices etc. If you are ever in Yreka, consider the Holiday Inn Express. We had to roll up towels to try to block it from entering our room under the door. Honestly surprised a smoke detector wasn't triggered #2 around 6:00 AM the guests directly above us clearly had kids who proceeded to run back and forth for 2 solid hours....so much for sleeping in. Breakfast staff named Amber is absolutely lovely! Food was typical hotel breakfast.
