We had high expectations when my child joined GradePower. Reviews and parent recommendations were…read moreexcellent. Unfortunately, for us, the experience was not great. The first few weeks, my child was provided a workbook that was two grades below him on accident. After they discovered this mistake, they quickly moved him to the correct book. However, GradePower did not notify me of this nor did they attempt to make amends for this error. My child never came home with any workbook or items to review once he left their facility. After several months, I asked that GradePower focus on more of the items that my child struggled with versus the items he was already good at. Alex, the owner, agreed, but then the teachers, I feel, still did what was easiest which was not to challenge my child on the difficult items. I never received any feedback from the teachers directly. Unless I asked my child, I did not know what they were working on at any given time. Alex was always available to discuss my child, which was great. He was professional at all times. The front office person was also always pleasant. I think this program does work for the many who reviewed GradePower with high marks. I also think a student who is eager for additional support, may benefit from this program. Unfortunately for us, overall it was a negative experience. As a last comment: I was also disappointed that GradePower continued to require masks after all mandates at businesses and schools had dropped this requirement. When asked about a timeline for them to be "optional", the response was that it would be a very long time. Alex said if it was up to him, they would never come off.

We live near a facility and assumed that our little guy would go there - but when we did our visit, it was just ok. Now what? A good friend sends her children to The Gardner School of Oak Brook and recommended the Naperville location to me. When we checked the school out, I cried over how much I loved it (and I'm not a crier - I'm super pale and get very blotchy; it's not cute). We signed him up immediately and have been happy with that decision ever since. First, the location is easily accessible from a variety of locations - we are in downtown Naperville, but have friends who are in Aurora, Sugar Grove, Wheaton, etc. The facility is secure and requires two passcodes before entering the main area. It's also extremely clean - I wish my house was that clean... :) But the most important part of TGS is the care and attention that the teachers and directors give the kids. My son started TGS when he was almost four months old, and even though I knew the school was wonderful, it was still scary to leave him for a full day. The teachers and directors are patient, kind, and caring - both with the students and the parents! They are always available for any questions and concerns throughout the day, and I definitely checked in a lot during those first few weeks of school. They are also available for advice - as a first-time parent, I had no idea when to transition my son to the next diaper size or how to introduce solid foods. The teachers helped us with everything, and have made parenting so much easier. TGS has an app that delivers updates throughout the day. I subscribe to all the updates, so I receive notifications when my son eats, has a diaper change, takes a nap, or does any of the fun activities that the teachers prepare for the kids. We also receive pictures during the day, and we love seeing our little guy having fun with his friends. Our two years at the school have been wonderful, and we plan to keep him at TGS until they kick us out :) Seeing our son make friends and learn so much every day has been more than worth the cost to attend, and we could not be happier with the school!

We are very happy with our CCC family!

They recently upgraded to an app called MyKidzDay which is easy to use. I love being able to see updates throughout the day (meals, diaper changes, activity updates with pictures). I had terrible mom guilt about leaving my infant child and working full-time, but the wonderful staff and frequent updates (especially pictures) really helped to put my mind at ease. I referred my friends to send their baby here as well, and they've also had a positive experience so far. Thank you CCC!

You often don't know the aide who is taking care of your child as they do not do introductions of the new employees. As another review mentioned, there is a lack of communication at this center. With every room move, we had no formal introduction to the new teacher. No explanation of what to expect in the new classroom. Just pointed in the direction of where the new room is located. There is a monthly email with the "theme" of the curriculum. For example, Oceans, Family, Forests etc. However, do not expect to be told specifically what words, colors, numbers, letters your child is actually working on. We randomly figure out what our son has learned by the new things he says. They just started to add some information like the color and day of the week to the app. This center does not hold any sort of parent/teacher conference or provide any progress updates on your child's development. The app...Do not expect this to be updated throughout the day. Most updates come through after 2/3PM at the end of the day. I have brought up the lack of pictures and updates to management plenty of times but there was no improvement made. For the price point of this daycare, I expected the app to be maintained as promised. Their pricing is in line with Gardner School + KinderCare who also offer an app. I would consider other options if having an app, receiving development progression updates, or overall communication are important to you. The quickest we ever heard from the director was when we sent an email advising we were withdrawing our son. We got a call within 5 minutes. He never asked why we were leaving or if there was anything he could do to keep our son there. His call was to advise a form needed to be filled out...His lack of concern confirmed we made the right choice to switch daycares. To top things off, we were charged today for two weeks of care even though we were told billing would be taken care of correctly. I will say the teachers are caring and would be the only reason to stick around. Ms. Kim in Infant room is the best! Our son adores her. Sandra + Daniela in the Twaddler room are the dynamic duo and have great energy. Ms. Natalie in the Twos room is super sweet. Diana + Sam took great care of our son. We were looking forward to having Ms. Cece for preschool.
