I attended back in the 60's and mostly nuns taught us. Still living in the Chicago Chinatown area I…read morerun into others who went to school with me during those times. One thing for sure: they all graduated from high school & went on to college. As for current day involvement, I visit the school to pick up my grandkids every once in awhile. They tell me they like their teacher and enjoy going to class. They are taught current technology, multiple languages, and even gym time, which is something we didn't have back in the day. Results matter, and seeing some many of my younger friend's children going on to high school then college after attending St. Therese tells me a lot about the present day school's teaching!

I have so much trauma from this place :) favorite memories: getting smacked in the head, getting my…read moreear yanked, getting conduct referrals gleefully/sadistically thrown at my face for minor infractions while "CONDUCT REFERRAL" was screamed in my face (this was done to many students and administration did not care), the staff who bullied us, nepotism, etc. please do not send your kid here, the school is so small and unregulated that they have no accountability. these were some of the worst years of my life. some of the people who did this to me are still at the school from what I can gather on their website. public school was actually better, go figure. they keep trying to delete my reviews but I want to make sure no one has to go through what I had to go through. I have nothing to gain from lying and am just speaking about what happened to me. spending my formative years here has caused devastating psychological fallout and I will have mental illness for the rest of my life. I threw away mostly everything that reminded of this place but dug up this photo of me wearing my school gym uniform as proof I attended here. They've since changed the logo but I promise you this is the same school. Oh, and I just remembered. One time we did poverty tourism. We, rich, privileged, private school students went to a poor, black, public Englewood school to learn about how the school operated and meet the kids. had lunch and then we left and never talked to the school again. how was this a learning experience? so gross and so tone deaf. stellar programs by the school.

Her mentality is that kids will be kids and does not hold them accountable. There's bullying, physical violence among other things from the 4th grade and up. I just cannot believe that I was suckered in to this school with the tour, and I think even the kids are in on it because they behaved and acted very differently from how they act now. For the amount of money I pay I am extremely dissatisfied with this school. Maybe if they replace the principal with someone who knows how to run a school it might have a better future. Bottom line: keep tuition money in your pocket. At least this school is NOT worth it.

Please Be aware they just started charging non refundable registration fees for next year's school year. As a parent, this truely angers me. Private school is already too expensive. Last year it was the cockroach infestation now this? It's extremely sad to see the way the arch diocese has handled this. Private investors are pulling donations that are keeping the school afloat. The current principle has been forced to resign on allegations I shouldn't share. You may ask why none of this has been released to the press? The arch diocese is a non for profit which allows for different treatment. Every truth I just stated has been brushed under the rug. It's sad and angers myself as a parent. I for one will not be sending my child back to this school.

My son has been at LPP for about a year now and LPP is truly fantastic!…read more Prior to enrolling my son, I did a thorough search and visited 5-10 different daycares/preschools before selecting LPP. Every aspect of LPP is very well thought out -- whether it be how they manage food allergies (my son has several) to how they prepare and execute parent teacher conferences to the weekly curriculums to how they retain their staff (teachers sign a year long contract). And most importantly, the teachers really care and know the students. Each day, they send home little notes about what each student did and details of my son that they provide can only captured by listening and knowing him. I know it can be tough to get into but it is absolutely worth it.

We looked far and wide in our search for preschools for our daughter when she was 2-1/2. Since it…read morewas her first school experience, it was really important to us that she love it (we wanted the first associations to be great). There are many great preschools in Chicago, and particularly the Near North Side, where we live. But LPP was really the right choice for us. The space is open and full of light (no windowless tunnels of classrooms, as we saw in lots of schools). The kids go to Lincoln Park, Astor Park, the zoo, or the tot lot every day. There is lots of imaginative play. But most importantly, the teachers are AWESOME. They are young, motivated, passionate about what they do, loving and nurturing. When you walk into the school to drop off or pick up, you just start to feel happy. Everyone is greeted and gets a smile (and the kids get hugs). There is a huge teaching emphasis on positive interactions with others -- sharing, kindness, laughter. Also, attitudinally, the school (and the parents who seem to end up there) is just mellow and sweet. Highly recommend. My daughter has such a great time there, and we've seen her skills and confidence grow in the past year. Of course, it all comes at a price -- but if you can afford it, it's certainly worth it and not out of line with other schools in the area. P.S. If you really want your child here, you may have to do as we did - keep calling back after you are waitlisted to remind them of your interest, and be flexible about your schedule -- days you are willing to come.
