Tried this restaurant per recommendation from coworkers and foods were superb and served hot, which I loved. What makes this place even better is the friendliness and attentiveness of the servers who were always checking on you even without you having to ask for things. I know I definitely missed out on this hidden gem place but will definitely come back for more!

Tried this out with some friends and got the chicken enchiladas suizas which were a bit on the acidic side due to the tomatillo sauce but I just scrapped some off and it was still good. The queso was absolutely delicious and though the food was fine enough I'd go back just for that. Chicken was cooked nicely but i do prefer pulled rather than chunks in an enchilada. They also carry Mexican sparkling water which was delicious (many brands are flat at opening). Id go back and try something new

Food was okay, definitely have had better Mexican food in Gainesville. What was lacking was mainly the quality of the rice and the tortillas. Carne Asada was good. Mango Margaritas were delicious. Service was decent. We ordered guacamole and they never brought until I mentioned it again. A large bee/beetle flew into the restaurant and the waiter proceeded to attempt to kill it above my head until it fell on the table and he began whacking the table, knocking some Margarita out of my cup. No new drink was offered and the table was never wiped down. He left like he didn't just try to kill an entire bug on the dinner table. We came on Cinco De Mayo. They have this crew coming in (overheard they've been doing this for 11 years?) and we were in line for the Photo Booth. We were cut in line by these two individuals. The staff handling the photobooth knew we were next and simply shrugged it off with a sorry. There also seemed to be a restaurant worker who was taking pics with guests and he encouraged their cutting of us. It's ridiculous that even the restaurant workers allow this simple disrespect. I personally will NOT be returning here. Just go somewhere else.

Delicious food, reasonable prices, & quick, friendly service from Jerónima. The cheese dip was some of the best I've had in a long time--too bad we're not local! The restaurant was clean & not a loud, even with festive music playing. Also, the hand carved chairs & benches displayed authentic aspects of Hispanic culture for added character.

Super authentic mexican place with great service, good priced food, and a great ambiance. Very unsuspecting for the food quality. Once seated they bring you chips and salsa, with a delicious salsa (better than other restaurants i've had) and warm chips. I got the burrito campechano which came with the traditional rice and beans alongside with a pico de gallo, sour cream, and delicious guacamole on top. Everything on the plate was delicious and for $12 it was definitely worth it. I also got to try the arroz con pollo which had greatly seasoned and cooked chicken alongside a delicious melted cheese on top. Absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking to switch up their typical mexican restaurants, I absolutely loved it!

Came here for a late lunch on Sunday and were seated right away. The staff were very attentive and helpful. We ordered the queso chorizo as an appetizer and it was very yummy. The salsa with the chips was mild which was nice. The home made chips were fresh and tasty. I ordered 3 crispy tacos with beef, lettuce, tomatoes, and shredded cheese and a strawberry margarita. I enjoyed my meal and my husband did, too. Definitely solid food and great service.

Linda Vista is a staple in my boyfriend and I's dinner rotation. It's always friendly, quick service no matter how busy they are! We sat immediately and had food within 20 mins. I got chicken palapa ($13.75- grilled chicken with onions, green peppers, mushrooms, cheese, rice, and beans). My boyfriend got hawaiin fajitas ($22.75- Steak, shrimp, pineapple, peppers, onions, toppings on the side, rice, and beans) and a Dos Equis especial ($6.25). Everything tasted amazing, and came with free chips and salsa. This is a safe bet for good Mexican!

    Fish tacos

The place was clean. Atmosphere was nice - appreciated the art and carvings on the chairs and tables. Music added to the atmosphere without being too loud. They seated us quickly. Service was excellent and food was brought out in a timely manner. Our server, Jeronima, was friendly and helpful! The chips and salsa get a 10/10. Chips were hot and fresh. Salsa was wonderful. Cheese dip also gets a 10/10. Some of the best I've had. I ordered the daily special, which was 3 fish tacos. They were loaded and rank among the best I've had. 10/10. My only complaint, which is more of a personal preference, is that the sweet tea was brewed a little on the strong side. I would give it a 7/10. The men's restroom was clean, handicap accessible, had a baby changing station, and was stocked with all necessities. Overall I would give this place a solid 10 rating. I would recommend and would definitely eat here again!

I love this spot, such a great vibe and the food is great. I definitely wouldn't say it's the best Mexican I've ever had but it hits the spot. The chicken fajitas are spiced and cooked well, the chimichanga is crispy and smothered, the enchiladas are also a hit, and my favorite the Margaronas are tasty and amazingly cheap. They have dinner and happy hour specials most nights, and the staff is so friendly. I also love the overall design of the establishment, really makes you feel transported out of Gainesville. There is rarely a wait, which is great, and you get all the free chips and salsa you want! What more can you ask for? Definitely check this place out. Pros: Fajitas Service Ambiance Drinks Cons: I had one of their chicken specials once and sadly it didn't have much flavor. Sticking with the classics will fulfill your thirst for Mexican food

The event said no reservations needed, so we showed up not realizing how popular it would be. The place was PACKED with a line out the door! Even so, we only waited about 25 minutes for a table on Valentine's Day, which honestly wasn't bad at all considering the crowd. We went specifically for their Valentine's special: 2 margaritas, fajitas for two, and dessert, such a great deal! The margaritas were delicious. We ordered the Rita sampler and the blueberry margarita tasted like blueberry pie, so fresh, organic, and absolutely yummy. We also ordered homemade guacamole, which was delectable, paired with fresh, crispy homemade chips. Our fajitas included steak, pork, chicken, and shrimp, and everything was cooked to perfection. The flavors were incredible!!! And can we talk about the restaurant itself? It's HUGE! It felt like one of those multi-level Times Square NYC restaurants, with multiple floors and even outside patio seating. It was like a magic trick walking through it! Our waitress, Lia, was fantastic, attentive, helpful, and so sweet despite how busy it was. The staff worked incredibly hard all night and it showed. Plentiful parking, amazing food, great atmosphere. We will definitely be back to this hidden gem we didn't even know existed in town. Our server was Brandon, who was an absolute delight! He was so energetic, so friendly, and gave great suggestions. We started with drinks. I had a skinny margarita and my husband had a Frida (top shelf margarita) and our son had a Coke. First thing we ordered was the chips and salsa. The chips were perfect, not too thin and not too thick. They came with two salsas. Both were tasty. Not sure if there is a spicier option but we will check next time. I ordered the Birria tacos. They were so delicious! So much flavor! The avocado tomatillo salsa was perfect with it. My husband ordered the Al Pastor tacos. It was very traditional Al pastor. He loved the black beans. His words were " these are the best black beans I have ever had!" Our son ordered the chorizo tacos. First, I have never seen chorizo tacos offered in a Mexican restaurant. Secondly, they were amazing! To finish, I ordered the banana pudding and our son ordered the churro sundae. Both desserts were delicious. The portions were huge! All in all I say Nopal is quite the gem. Perfect portions and dishes that are packed with flavor. And service that goes above and beyond. We can't wait to go back. We will ask for Brandon!!!

Our server mentioned he was busy but would come by as soon as he could. No problem! Well....he silently dropped waters off about five minutes later and zoomed away. We flagged him down a few minutes later to order bar drinks. Two of us ordered beers and two ordered margaritas. The margaritas took forever and when they finally came out, they both tasted terrible. One tasted like pure sugar (all sour mix) and the other tasted like rubbing alcohol but not a tequila taste. My friend took them inside to the bar to swap them out since the server was too busy. The bartender said there was too much agave in their sour mix today. They ended up with beers. Finally by almost 8pm we flagged the server down and asked to order food. He was apologetic that he was inattentive. We ordered and the food came out quickly. Everyone enjoyed their food. The server asked us if we wanted dessert and made a recommendation. Two of us had a check together and the other two separate. The server struggled to separate the checks and was confused. Suddenly by 9pm the kitchen was closed, he had dropped off our checks, and quickly picked them up. As soon as the checks were signed he was picking up the signed receipts and bussing the table around us although 3 out of 4 of us had full beers from a second round. The server was very kind but I can only hope that it was his first week because he was in the weeds the whole time and there was another server on the patio, so at most they had 3 tables each. I don't know if the solution is to add another server for that shift or if he needs a smaller section but it was hard to watch and honestly I don't think I will return. Maybe the manager could have helped take drink orders or run drinks on the table.
