Typical Clarks outlet store. We stopped by for coffee and for some walking shoes. Not really a…read moreplace to look for walking shoes.I should just have brought my tennis shoes back home. The shoes I bought don't offer much support. I guess none of the Clarks shoes nowdays don't, even for walking on smooth, paved roads. Wore them for a week and as I was doing our easy-moderate walks my feet hurt already. But they looked good. :)Well that's not the fault of the store, it's just how things are poorly made nowadays. Two ladies working at the store. One was a bit rude. I guess small town hospitability. Some just haven't learned proper retail customer service and etiquette.

I want to be clear : Love the store, love the shoes. I was disappointed in the lack of…read morehelpfulness from employees. When I started to write review I read the prior review, I wonder if the same woman is still working there ? Very "snooty", "too good" to assist attitude ! I actually waited to check out (even though my husband was rushing me) because I was intimidated to dare interrupt their in depth personal conversation and make them work to ring me up. When she did, she didn't do the math correct on my punch card, I lost some credit. She also couldn't be bothered to let me know that I would have got a MUCH better deal by buying one more pair that applied to promotion. My advice: be prepared to help yourself, figure out the promotion and which items apply yourself, add time to wait for any assistance, made to feel like you're not good enough to be in that store.

I've had Limmer boots going back nearly 35 years. I had -- past tense -- the Lightweights. They…read morecarried me up a lot of 4,000-footers in the White Mountains, taller ones in Colorado, and Mt Fuji on a business trip to Japan. They were the most comfortable boots I've had bar none. I had them resoled, I was careful to grease them, and miss them terribly. Alas, they were stolen one day. Part of me hopes the thief got blisters or tore a ligament. Part of me hopes they are wearing them in good health. I just bought the Hikers and am in love with Limmer again. The service they provided, as we got the fit right, was outstanding. Chris, out of Ft Collins, was exceedingly patient and insightful. Yes, I cannot recommend the Hikers enough; they are super comfortable, have great traction, and are gorgeous to look at. Thank you, Limmer. Be prepared for my order a second set of Lightweights as long as I can get an airtag to attach. You all deserve the reputation as being the finest boots out there.

I was hoping they wouldn't be able to do anything about it because I'm trying to surprise him with one for Christmas (if I can find it!) They were so understanding and attentive, incredibly sweet. They brainstormed together on how they could fix it and we ended up deciding against it because it would be a lot of man-hours put into hand making a new one. Whew! This is a family business that started in 1919 in Bavaria and has been open in NH since 1950. They specialize in hiking boots and they're known to have a 2-3 year waitlist for custom boots! They also have boots in stock you can purchase, if I were a local I'd definitely get a pair. Since we're up here twice a year we may just decide to!
