My friends have played over 40+ escape rooms so far, and the Morgue is the scariest room we've played so far in the Bay Area. The most terrifying ones are in Vegas. I was so scared that I couldn't help screaming throughout the game. Our gamemaster was right; we didn't need live actors to make it scary. It was so scary and realistic that I wanted to vomit when we were playing. We also played Agent Tokyo a few months ago. That was fun too, but it wasn't scary. I recommend this room if you're into horror. read more

Celebrating my sons birthday. This was such a great experience. We're all 1st timers and although we didn't escape.. (wha wha wha) we had the best time. We did some serious teamwork, got the jewel (bank heist room) but didn't get out before police arrived.. BUSTED! I think our pride got the best of us not asking for clues quick enough. My daughter and her friends booked an escape room and were grouped with another party that would not allow them to participate in the game at all. They were excluded from solving puzzles and essentially pushed aside the entire time. This completely defeated the purpose of paying for an interactive escape room experience. Because of this, they walked out early and immediately asked staff for a refund. They were told refunds were not allowed and were given store credit instead. A credit was not helpful or fair, as part of the group was visiting from Florida and would not be returning. The group also drove 45 minutes to this location only to have a bad experience and be told to come back again. I followed up directly with the business to explain that the experience was not as advertised and to request a refund to the original form of payment. The response k received was that because they already issued a credit to their name, they couldn't process her refund. My daughter only agreed to a credit because they were originally told there was no option for a refund. Despite acknowledging the situation, the business still refused to issue refunds and stood by the credit-only policy. An escape room should ensure that all guests can participate, especially when groups are combined. The lack of customer service and refusal to make things right afterward made this an extremely frustrating experience. I would not recommend this location! read more

One of the best horror escape rooms in the Bay!!! We had a large group solving this one which was perfect because their rooms are a little tough - you have to think it through. But that does make it more fun. The scares were 10/10 and the decor was immaculate, very scary, and atmospheric. Would recommend. read more

I'm surprised this place doesn't have a higher rating. If you love haunted houses, The Morgue is the perfect escape room for you! I had a lot of jump scares, and at times couldn't concentrate because I was so scared. The puzzles were fun and original and the decor was pretty morbid. I think this was one of, if not my best, escape room experience. The only downside was our gamemaster seemed really unenthusiastic and stressed but perhaps that's just her personality. A few things to note: 1. This place is on groupon for a small discount! I think I saved $30. 2. If you want a private room, you gotta book Mon-Thursday. You might be with strangers from Fri-Sun if you don't book all 10 spots. read more

It took us just 20 minutes to beat their room, and that's only because we missed a prop that had fallen over in it's nook. Had we seen it we would have solved in 15. The puzzles are simple, and require no thought, just labor. Friendly host is the only reason they are getting three stars. read more

I want to love this! But I don't. We were a party of 5, joined by another party of 4. So we had a total of 9 for our game. I believe this game could've been 5 stars if we were able to play with just 5 people but their capacity at 10 was not enjoyable. It's crowded, and the game had to go in order so while the 6 of us were aimlessly wandering around looking for clues, only 3 were able to do the next step. And the game had to go in specific steps so it was not very inclusive for everyone. One of the guys from the other party ended up just standing around because there was nothing else they possibly could do in the room. If they are able to limit the game to 6, I think it would be way more enjoyable for everyone. read more

First time coming to their Pleasanton location! I have always enjoyed doing their escape games at their Livermore location. The process is smooth and friendly. The staff are very attentive and helpful when needed! Although my friends and I were hesitant to use hints, the Tokyo escape room was challenging for us. This made it fun! Came here with 2 families - parents and 6 kids ages 7-13. We had a great time! The good stuff: -theming: we were excited to do Forbidden Temple and it did not disappoint; the kids who have done a lot of escape rooms (close to 10) thought this was the best theming of all of them; Disney level according to the teens. -service: Francisco and Lucas helped us and they were great! Friendly, professional, covered all the bases while giving instructions and introducing the room. -location: parking was easy and lots of good restaurants in nearby downtown. The could be better: -private room: they require that you buy all 10 spots if you want a private room. We've been wanting to come here for a while, but we've waited until we had a reason to get together with at least 10 people to avoid working with strangers. -timeliness: they warned us we may have to wait for clues, and they were right. At another nearby escape room, they seem to have dedicated attendants, and another staff member at the front - hopefully the more established this location gets they'll be able to hire on more person to accommodate busy weekend time slots. (We didn't wait long, but you're trying to escape within an hour, every second counts!) read more

we played midday on a monday, you can tell we were the only group. the guy (long hair) who was our game master was lackluster, no emotions, one set monotone voice the entire time. it seemed like he would rather be anywhere but there, normally escape room game masters are energetic and exciting since they are a GAME master. he just seemed like he wanted us in and out as soon as possible. the room was fun and the decor was nice, some puzzles didn't rly correspond with each other and the room was fairly dark with just a flashlight from a walkie talkie. but jesus christ it seemed like it would've killed him to smile, truly this guy might run this business down. read more

Francisco , our host, did an excellent job with the introduction & really made us feel excited & nervous to be there. If you end up as them as your host you're in for a treat. Overall the puzzle was interesting and props were believable. But our experience was ruined because of an equipment glitch that was not properly disclosed. We were not told of this glitch until we had tried the correct approach many times and led us to waste a lot of time and energy trying other less intuitive ideas. With less than 5 minutes remaining, we were informed that we had to modify our input, without really explaining this was due to a glitch. We ended up not having enough time to solve the second room and came away with a very poor experience and opinion of Limitless compared to other escape rooms we have tried. Should have been warned ahead of time there was a glitch/broken light or someone should have spoken up earlier (or better yet get it fixed!). Will probably give them another shot if we had no other options but will steer clear if there are. This was also specific to the Pleasanton location. read more

The "Tokyo Agent" escape room was so outstanding. I couldn't believe how much it reminded me of the "Escape Room 2: Battle of Champions" movie. Our games master Francisco was seriously so pleasant, respectful and welcoming!!! I'm going to bring my family next time so we can do the Morgue escape room. read more

Our group came here during a night out and wanted to book a private room, but this option wasn't available so we made a last minute booking for the only room available which was the Forbidden Temple. Compared to other escape rooms we have done, there were certainly things I can point out that made this experience less enjoyable. Our introduction to the game was brief and lacked encouragement or excitement. The room was very dark, and required items to be measured/placed precisely, otherwise nothing would "trigger". We were given instructions that the room would require participants to activate sensory sounds, and it was hard to hear at times. Overall, the games difficulty was in part due to mechanical/sensory issues that delayed the experience, and we were left a bit disappointed. The room is quite immersive so most players will still be able to enjoy the experience. For what it's worth, we were told that the most popular room was Agent Tokyo-which was already booked, so we might have better luck with that one next time. read more

This whole experience has been the worst. Guy working that night seemed annoyed we came in. I get we were the last people of the night but it was a weekend and wasn't even the latest available room. Our reservation was at 8:45 and they had reservations going until 9:30, but i guess no one booked any after us. It felt as if he rushed through our time and kept insisting we ask for him for clues through the walkie talkie when we were trying to solve a clue ourselves. Even stated that groups are usually only allowed the 3 clues, but since we're the last group he will give us unlimited clues. Like i understand that it could have been a nice gesture, but it would have been nice for the guy to have some patience and let us figure stuff out and ask for help when we wanted it. Especially on the last clue. My little brother really wanted to solve it, but the guy on the walkie got impatient and just told him how to solve it although no one asked. The whole room itself was fun but the ending seemed anticlimactic, thanks to whoever was working. We ended up finishing the room with 20 minutes left so it's not like we were delaying him from getting off the clock or even used our full 60 minutes. Your split payment process online is a whole problem itself and needs to be fixed. I reserved for 5 people and the total came to almost $200 with gratuity. The website asked to put a card on file to hold the reservation and stated that my card would not be charged until payment. It still held the full charge on the card initially when i booked the reservation. When i tried the split to pay option with my friends it expected me to pay my part as an additional amount when i tried to spilt the amount. I was paying for 3 people so that was over $100 on top of the full amount that was already charged which i was fine with as long as the initial amount was processed back to my card. The day after i checked my bank and saw i was still double charged for the full amount for the room and the split amount i paid. It has been 5 business days and the original charge has not been processed back into my account. I have called to try to resolve this issue and all they could say was i have to wait until the pending charge is dropped and the money will be returned. That is an extra $200 that I could have needed throughout the week. So pretty much i have overpaid for a lackluster experience for a guy to not even let us enjoy our time there and an ongoing payment issue that has not been resolved. read more
