We stayed at Lime Kiln House in the midst of the November snows. This B&B has only recently opened for business but the owners come with lots of previous experience. The bedroom was spacious with a very comfortable double bed and a spectacular view to Castle Howard. It took an extra z-bed with ease and should be able to take a second. The guest sitting room downstairs was very welcome and we enjoyed watching a DVD by an open log fire whist our daughter was asleep upstairs. Breakfast was superb with a wide selection of fresh fruit (including melons, raspberries, kiwi and pineapple), yoghurt, cereals etc. The cooked breakfast was very tasty and sourced locally.
Nearby: Castle Howard is just on the doorstep and well worth a visit. We also spent a day in York, a lovely city, but a slightly longer drive away. read more
