I get it, same longitude and wines should grow similar and all that jazz, but Michigan wines outside of the sweeter styles really never taste right to me. Well whatever they are doing here is nothing short of scientifically brilliant. Probably some of the best MItten Vino I have ever had and that assessement is from traveling all around the state and trying different areas. The Frontenac, Petite Pearl, Marquette were my favorites by far. But my five stars isn't for the wine, it's for the sheer joy this place brings me. Absolutely beautiful campus with sheep and goats and a big white furball of a dog who looks so adorable but is trained to kill any possible threat to his wards. The large barn event space and indoor seating is nothing short of gorgeous and of course sitting outside is just pure joy. I will add more pics as I come across them.

This is a review for "Ed's Eatery"... the restaurant at the Golden Hawk Golf Club…read more They offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner all year 'round. The menu consists of the typical breakfast items, sandwiches and burgers, chicken, steak, some seafood choices, and pizza. I would've liked to have seen a few more "pasta" choices on the menu (they do offer a spaghetti dinner, but that was about it for the pasta). The one "chicken" dinner offered (other than the fried chicken) was a "Smothered" chicken... a couple of chicken breasts covered with onions, mushrooms and swiss cheese. Do you really want to call one of your dinner entrees "Smothered"? That just seems like a weird word to use. Kind of sounds like they killed the poor chicken by smothering it with a soft pillow (poor little guy got taken out by a mob hit). Actually, the food was decent (if not particularly special). I'd go back... especially if I had another "Restaurant.Com" certificate. If you're not familiar with Restaurant.Com, you should check it out sometime. When you go to their website, you can search for various participating restaurants by typing in your zipcode (or any area zipcode that you want). Then, when you've found a restaurant that you might like to try, you purchase a certificate (10, 25, 50 or 100 buck certificate), for a discounted price. The "normal" price on the website is a 25 dollar certificate for 10 bucks... BUT, if you sign up to get their e-mails, they'll send you offers for 80% off THAT PRICE, so you can usually get 25 dollar certificates for only TWO BUCKS!! Now, that's worth looking into, isn't it? Just remember to read all the "fine print" before buying... you can only use one certificate at a time, and you also have to spend a certain amount of money (depending on the restaurant) as well. The "Golden Hawk" seemed like a nice-enough place to go. They even had a very nice room upstairs that looked like it was specifically designed for Wedding Receptions. If only this place had a miniature golf course and a game-room... it could be a "family" entertainment center/golf complex all-in-one (I know... I'm just dreaming here). Just a thought...

On August 22nd (not August 24th), I properly called ahead to cancel a tee time due to rain and thunderstorm activity in the area. Under the voucher's fine print, a voucher is only automatically redeemed in the event of a "no show." Because I called in advance to cancel rather than failing to show up, the vouchers should not have been redeemed. On September 18th, I drove 45 minutes to the course for a new tee time booked with these two prepaid vouchers, only to be told at the counter that both had already been redeemed for the previous canceled date. I presented my reservation details and voucher numbers directly to the pro shop attendant. Despite having all the information right in front of him, the attendant refused to investigate or assist, simply stating there was "nothing he could do" and offering zero effort toward a resolution. His demeanor was thoroughly dismissive and rude--easily one of the worst customer service interactions I have experienced. While the course responded online claiming they could not locate my reservation or address the issue without additional details, all of that information was provided to them in person at the counter when I was standing in their pro shop. Offering to investigate online after turning away a paying customer who drove 45 minutes is purely for show. I was defrauded out of $70 in prepaid golf value (two $35 vouchers), but more importantly, this establishment demonstrated that customer service is a non-priority. Golfers and potential event bookers should take note of how disputes are handled here. I will not be returning.

It's actually Dan Dan, not just Dan... Trust me, even more fun!…read more We had Sheryl out driving our train for my son's third birthday yesterday and we all loved it! She was fun and accommodating and was smiling the whole time, even though it was a bit chilly. The first time we saw Dan Dan the Choo-Choo Man was at a friend's birthday party a couple years ago, and they've continued with the great service and experience. Kids and adults can ride in the covered train cars, and even passers-by can't help by smile when they see you go by. I'd highly recommend booking Dan Dan the Choo-Choo Man for your next party or event. I'm not sure exactly how far they go from their offices in Emmett, but we're in Lake Orion and they had no issue coming out and arriving in plenty of time for our fun entertainment.

Booking was easy enough (about a month out for a Satuday event). The train came right on time and was a lot of fun! The train holds 12 kids but adults can ride too (and we did!!). Boys and girls ages 4 months to 12 years all rode as well After the train left, my three year old told me it was *SO* much fun and his best gift ever and I seriously almost cried (yes, I'm a big sucker for the kids). So it's going to be tough to top it next year and seriously was a great change of pace (and bigger hit) the usual bounce house or costumed character we usually do. Our conductor (Sheryl I believe her name was) was GREAT! Great with kids (even the naughty ones) and fun with adults! You can tell she enjoys her job and has a lot of fun with it. My son is so anti-social about "new people" sometimes and even he thought she was so much fun. She seemed to have made herself familiar with our neighborhood and was able to take our train to a lot of cool places (parks, schools, businesses) which was exciting instead of just around the block 50 times (which the kids probably still would have liked, lol). I HIGHLY recommend something like this for children's birthday parties. I think a lot of people don't realize the price is very reasonable (175 for an hour... and an hour is a nice amount of time). The younger kids LOVE it and the older kids get a kick out of going on "parade". Also, I was told the train can run in light rain so even though we had a sunny day I was glad to know that a little drizzle would not ruin our fun (it initially was going to rain last weekend here). I will be recommending them HIGHLY to all my friends. Thanks for making his third birthday a HIT!

He kept having the circle of guest, come toward the middle of the dance floor and give us a group hug. I loved it!!!! We also had a photo booth and props. It was a beautiful Sunday, September 13th, 2026 when we booked a cruise on the Huron Lady II. What a perfect outing it was. You had to get there early to get on the top deck but we were grateful to be on the bottom deck.
