I never knew what that meant until we went in and I read the back of the menu. My wife said people recommended this place on the state park camping fb page. So we finally tried. First off I'm not a big chicken fan but I think I will declare this the best chicken on the bone I have ever eaten. The "Chicken in the Rough" dinner is outstanding. It had a great flavor. I had the Traditional Dinner. It was a half chicken with fries & coleslaw & a dinner roll. I loved it all but didn't try the slaw I'm not a fan of that stuff. She had Chicken Tenders & Waffles with Honey & Pecan syrup on the side. I tried a bite of tenders it was very good but didn't have the same coating as mine so not AS good. I didn't try the Waffles but she said they were good. I would definitely get that Traditional Dinner again. I unfortunately didn't think to take a picture of our meals. Lots of food for both of us. Only downside I'd say is Pepsi products. There is a full bar though, but it was lunch so we resisted. The place says established 1936 it definitely had an old timey feel. I would guess 50's or 60's style but I wasn't around then so I'm just guessing what they were like. As always for Brian if he's still reading mine.... The napkin were two decent dinner napkins wrapped around our silverware, then a stack of cheapo diner napkins like you would have in a chrome dispenser on the table of a greasy spoon diner. I definitely was glad there was a lot of them, they knew I would need them. Don't hesitate to stop in I would recommend it for sure.

The portion size is good and the quality is great. No rubbery chicken or gristle at all (my pet peeve from typical shawarma/Mediterranean places). My only criticism was the amount of sauce. Great choice! We ordered online, the large one topping pizza with bread for $18. It was a 20 minute wait. We arrived just before the 20 minute mark and our food was ready to go and piping hot. I am older but back in my day they used to serve it with a nice soft piece of bread on top. That's been gone for a long time. Now the sides are terrible. I don't even order them ever. I just felt like making a point. I'm sure that the corporate people will never read this and the people who are supposed to respond to them will never tell them. Frankly, I can understand it because I'm sure they won't care. Not to sound negative, but the reality is the younger generation never had the good Kentucky fried chicken so they don't know the difference. It's not their fault.
