It's because of her that I have learned that getting your nails done does not have to be painful. All the other locations that I have gone, had either been peeling off the gel or acrylic..,, sanding it down till it burnt... soaking it to take off the top layer and then shaving it down... it is because of Lan that I learned that getting my nails done, did not mean to be painful. My nails have been in the best condition since she's been taking care of me. She took some time off for family. Of course we understand this. I've gone to this other location that was recommended and I have to say it was the longest 6 months!! I have always appreciated nonsense. I started going to her. And let me tell you the service that you receive is most caring (not just for your nails but if you are comfortable and like the design and shape). I can always count on having an amazing job done. She takes her time and does a lot of freelance design. She really cares about the work that she does. She has so many colors to choose from and constantly stay up-to-date with the different designs that are upcoming and popular. And when I say she has so many colors, she has a whole wall of colors to choose from. And very good quality. Long lasting. This Salon can also do facial treatments, waxing, eyebrows, tinting, etc. They also have massage chair chairs for pedicures They offer water or drinks as you wait- and as you're being taken care of with the type of self-care you choose. The moment that she said she was coming back to work at a new location- you bet. I jumped right on it. Made reservations every time when I leave. They are upfront with the prices and have a menu to select from. Of course you can't be "sketch" that say something crazy like oh this isn't the design or the shape that I want I'm not going to pay. They don't change gloves, they don't bother to let the water warm up, stopped asking me even what color I wanted or if I liked the shape, sloppy with the edges on polish, too rough on cuticle cutting, uneven shaping, and overbooking. Although the sign on the door indicated that walk-ins are welcome, we did not feel that way after stepping inside. My wife asked generally, "Are you busy?" No acknowledgement. Understood there happened to be no free technicians at the time, but the gentleman behind the counter seemed to ignore us as we stood by the door assessing the situation. When my wife turned to exit with me following her, the gentleman finally spoke up and offered, "If you'd like to wait..." My wife responded "No thank you," and headed for Honolulu Nail Salon, a few doors down in the same complex, which she had noticed upon our arrival. As we entered, it appeared they were busy as well, but at least one of the techs sat us both down and started my pedicure. My wife waited a few minutes until the second tech was free, thanked my wife for waiting, and proceeded with her pedicure. She was able to engage my wife in pleasant conversation. Overall, Honolulu Nail Salon offered competent service and better value than our Kaimuki experience. We were both satisfied with our pedicures and foot massages.

First off, sanitation is a priority with her. I receive pedicures here regularly and she always uses plastic disposable liners so you know that no one else's stinky gross feet has been in the same bin as yours. It's the jet baths that attract all the bacteria to cause you nail fungus so being the antibacterial gel toting woman that I am, having my own clean liner each time I go is a HUGE plus. Secondly, Carrie is such a perfectionist that she is great at mixing two, sometimes three, nail colors to make a new blend of color and that you wouldn't be able to tell that it was a mixed color. I tried asking a Vietnamese nail salon to do that once (I've now boycotted all Vietnamese nail salons after 6 more times of bad experiences at each salon but that's another story!) and I could literally see the polish color underneath the top color. Thumbs down to them! Carrie has a way of making your hands and feet really pretty and the polish lasts a long time. I go for my pedicure every 5 to 6 weeks and I could probably go longer if my nail beds weren't showing. When I get a manicure, it usually lasts for a little under two weeks, if I get one for a trip. If I get one for a wedding and I'm home doing typical chores, it'll probably last about a week. A manicure is $30 and a pedicure is $55. It'll take about an hour each for each treatment but it's well worth the price for the amount of time the polish will last you, especially pedicures. I believe she only does natural nails, no acrylics, but I'm not 100% positive so try and give her a call to ask. Check her out and tell her Steph sent you. She'll be happy!
