It looks like my review was removed. Thanks, Yelp, for bothering to notify me. Regardless, I am resubmitting a more professional review as I let my temper get the best of me.
Key points: I had a negative experience that began in the waiting room. I don't have an issue with waiting over an hour to be seen, especially if the doctor is supposed to be worth seeing, but to listen to snoring dogs, ones that are hidden behind a partition, is a combination of comical and unnerving. I cannot comment on the sanitary part without unwittingly giving false information. I can tell you that a book I picked up on their coffee table to kill time was sticky on the outside, which maybe was a sign to leave.
My husband accompanied me to this appointment. He could not sit in the chairs for an average length of time due to the combination of three major back surgeries and discomfort of the waiting room seats. Be prepared for a long wait, which is why I bring up the waiting room seats. It may or may not cause discomfort. When we were finally seen, I explained my condition to the doctor. While I appreciate the appointment was not rushed, it was not productive, either. This doctor, for whatever reason, tends to be argumentative, does not listen, is dismissive, and, IMHO, has to be right. Even when presented with information that challenges her opinion or reveals it as false. Here are a few of the things that I was told that turned out to be the opposite of what she said (I called CVS pharmacy several times to verify the information):
-You cannot get certain prescriptions filled if you have had a similar prescription filled before thirty days is up. Actually, you can. At a different dosage.
-You cannot get certain prescriptions filled if another prescription contains the same type of medication before thirty days is up. Totally false because they are considered two different medications.
-The pharmacy will accept returns on prescription medications. No, they absolutely will not dispose of medication for you nor will they accept a return. This is illegal and breaking the law. Some pharmacies have disposal bins for you to get rid of medications, but they do NOT accept it by hand, nor give you a receipt, nor update your profile to reflect that medication was turned in by you. Blatantly false piece of information.
Dr Hunt only agreed to give me a prescription if I did the above and if my electronic file reflected that I followed her instructions. When I called and let her know that her information was simply not true, she flat out told me I was wrong and that she had 'turned in medication to this particular CVS many times'. How was it possible to do something when the other party tells you they do not things that way? She gave me an impossible task to do. I have a hard time believing that a Vanderbilt and Harvard educated physician could be so wrong about such simple protocol, and too stubborn to listen or even follow up with the pharmacy to verify what the patient says is true.
Opinion: Doctor is either willfully obtuse or incompetent. The only positive is Susan, the knowledgeable and compassionate office assistant, who I feel should have the title of Dr in that office. read more
