Terrible experience. They sent us two guys when it was supposed to be four. They showed up a day early then came back the scheduled day at 6am and didn't leave until after 10:30pm. I recently got out of the military and had Lile move me into my storage unit. That move went great so I reached out when I was moving into my own space thinking it'd be another great experience. The team was doing alright but working slow when they got to my unit. It took two hours to pack everything into the truck. I had made it clear that I had a second location that needed pickup, just one room. That also took about an hour. I was paying by the hour so I felt frustrated at the slow moving. Once we got to my move-in location one of the movers had something happen and called in another person to help. Before the additional guy came in the team's attitude felt noticeably more negative. It was bad enough I felt guilty to tell them I wanted furniture upstairs. The additional guy was great and really sped up the process, meanwhile the team lead who called him in ended up stepping away to take a phone call at some point. Again, I was paying by the hour and paying for the extra man power. After everything was said and done I was left with a broken mirror, a hole in my wall, and veneer ripped off my TV console. I filed a claim day of, and have received no response in two weeks, even after reaching out again. read more

It's wonderful to find a good freight company, but what a relief to find one in a pinch! Lile to the rescue! There are some jobs you have where nothing is going smoothly. The original crew showed up in masks but additional help came and had guys enter the home with no masks initially and had to ask for them to please use. Handful of items damaged, lamp broken before being loaded onto the actual moving truck, bottom of couch ripped, a few pots and tiles broken and damaged. Original crew was great and very timely. I had a corporate move done with the help of Lile and I was truly impressed. Martin is the Branch Manager and was the one that guided me through the process. He was always very courteous and answered my emails within a timely manner. Lile was one of the more affordable services from my shopping around and didn't charge $3000 to move my 1996 Honda Civic like some other companies quoted me (my car isn't even worth that much!). All the packers and movers were very professional and nothing was surprisingly broken from the move. The only thing I found missing was some plastic pieces that secures the racks to the uprights for my wire shelving racks. If I have to do another corporate move, Lile will be the first company I'll call to get the job done! read more

I used this company to move my things from Medford, Oregon to Beaverton, Oregon. They dropped boxes down my staircase, broke a shelf, scratched many pieces of furniture and loaded my storage unit in Beaverton with a dinning table on top of other things. It's way too heavy to do that. You only have 90 days to file a claim and my stuff will be in storage longer then that so I can't prove what's damaged. Clever huh? In the house that they did bring items to they dropped items down that staircase damaging the wall and items that were in the room. At one point the driver said jokingly , "they just pay us to get it here, not to get it in one piece." He was rude, asked personal questions, and really wanted to get back to Medford quickly so he rushed things that should have been more carefully done. The company fixed the wall but none of my other items were even addressed because they are in a storage unit piled to the ceiling and unavailable to document damage. This is the third moving company that I have used in my life and I have never had worse service and professionalism. Oh and if I could get to my stuff they only pay .60 cents per pound for items that are damaged so it's not worth paying another company to pull out broken items in my storage unit so I can document the damage. Some of my broken personal items I threw away in Medford and cleaned myself off of the floor so there is no proof except in my notes on the moving papers I signed. I guess that doesn't count. Save yourself the grief. Go with someone else. You don't want you grandma's China put under your dinning table in a storage unit. There was no common sense or care taken at all. If I could give less than one star I would. read more

Martin and Sherry are completely incompetent. Sherry is unresponsive, and unorganized. They didn't have any contingency plans (which the rep who quoted us said there would be), and Martin was extremely rude and unhelpful when they mixed our move up with another move, telling us the day before move day that they wouldn't have a truck for us. I can quote Martin as saying "I don't care what [the guy who quoted us] said" when I asked about the guaranteed pick-up day in the contract. We heard later that they even acknowledged their error to other members of the move team, but they never contacted us to correct it or apologize. If the driver hadn't gone out of his way (driver doesn't work for Lile) to deal with everything we would have had a serious scheduling issue and probably lost tens of thousands of dollars paying another company to quickly move us. Save your money and sanity by not working with these people, they were essentially a complete detriment to the move process with other people having to pick up their tremendous slack. read more

I used these people for three separate moves within the past year. Each time I was profoundly disappointed. Two lamps were totally unprotected in the move and arrived trashed. A teak cabinet was unprotected and came with gouges on the corners requiring a total refinishing. A large painting was totally unprotected and arrived with the glass broken. I worked with Mike Shell who was incredibly nice and went back and forth on quotes with me until I found the best blend of services for me to move from San Jose to Portland. I could have shipped my car but decided to drive it because we needed the trunk space to shlep important super secrety paperwork stuff and breakables and our luggage. Of course, no move occurs without terror, and Mike did send the wrong quote to the movers, so the movers came a day later than I planned. No big deal, we gave ourselves extra time to pad for trouble, and Mike was incredibly apologetic, even when I called him at home on Sunday during Memorial Day weekend and said to him, "Uh oh, I think there's a problem!" It was annoying that I had confirmed the move date with Lile, and the driver had something different, but I think this is a rare occurrence and happened because of the numerous quotes that went back and forth. The quote I signed was honored, and even came in less than quoted because we didn't have that much stuff, so my company, who was footing the bill, got a break. Brian was our driver, and I HIGHLY recommend him. He was pleasant, courteous, worked well with us, and had a great sense of humor. He got everything to us in three days, which is super quick. Everything made it with every box accounted for, and nothing, and I mean NOTHING, was broken. Brian's coworker, Thomas, was just as pleasant and professional. They are the nicest guys. The only reason they don't get five stars (other than the pickup being a day late, but whatever, stuff happens) was that I specifically asked Lile for the couch to be wrapped in plastic and it wasn't, so now there are big smeary hand prints and dirt all over it and I'm going to have to get it professionally cleaned and pray that the stains come out of the sand colored fabric. I should have said something when Brian and Thomas carried it out unwrapped but I just didn't think about it, as I was in the middle of cleaning since we were running late, due to the late pickup, and the apartment inspection was later that day. If I were to do anything differently, I would have said, "HEY, are you going to wrap the couch?" first thing when they walked in, but hindsight blah blah. I would use Lile again, but would verify with Lile AND driver the pickup date well before the move date, and would communicate any special requests directly to the driver. read more

Even in the middle of a 100 year blizzard in northern Oregon, they were efficient, helpful and did the job right. They pushed through the snow, arrived on time, checked in along the way, and they were prepared beyond belief for the extreme weather. To say I was impressed is an insult to what they were able to deliver upon. We moved in January from Portland , Oregon to Sedona , Arizona . We had no problem with the movers picking and packing our belongings . They delivered our belongings in May with only one damaged item . Our move came in about 3000 pounds underweight . We our still waiting for our final credit as we had to pay the estimated charge of $ 12,000 up front on delivery . We have called at least 20 times asking for our final bill and credit . They either state the computer is down or don't return our calls . I guess we need to notify the state and the lawyers at this point . read more

I ordered a pellet stove from Home Depot and for whatever reason, YRC Freight dropped it off to Lile to deliver because they supposedly offer white glove service (they don't and we didn't need it anyway). The problem I have with Lile is that they only answered their phone twice, forcing me to leave multiple messages that were never returned. They had my pellet stove for more than three weeks and would not deliver it. When I said I was coming to pick it up, they were all of a sudden going to deliver it the same day so I didn't go and they did not deliver. I ended up taking two days off work when I was supposed to be getting the delivery and both times it didn't come. Keep in mind for me to go get it is a 3.5 hour drive ONE WAY! Now they are not calling me back and I don't even know if they have my pellet stove at this point. I want my stove, where is it!? Horrible customer service, the worst I've ever encountered from a supposed professional company. Your advertising as "women owned and operated" is giving a really bad name to women, which as hard working woman, I do not appreciate!! I had to give one star but if it was an option I would give zero! UPDATE: After 3+ weeks of not having my phone calls returned, I just got a call from Lile telling me that someone from another shipper picked up my stove YESTERDAY and now they have no idea where it is. Funny how the timing of the call coincides with my Yelp review. Still no answers, still no stove and now I don't even know where it is. Very poor service! read more

Never use these people!!!! When we arrived at our destination we were extremely disappointed with the condition of our household goods and furniture. Our dining room chair is broken and will need replaced. The reason the chair was broken was because our King size mattress fell over on it. When it fell a hole was punctured in the mattress. Our new headboard for our king size bed is scratched in several places. The rail did not even appear to have been wrapped in blankets as with most of the furniture. We had bookshelves that had parts missing which I feared before we left Seattle, because I found two of the pieces of hardware in the floor after the moving people had left. There was open powder laundry soap in the box with my printer. The printer was placed upside down in the box and laundry soap all in it. Our curtains were not folded and placed in a box, but rather were wadded up and used as packing material around lamps and pictures. This was done with 5 different sets of curtains from 3 separate bedrooms. Inside pictures were packed with garage stuff Shoes were packed with clothes, (just thrown together in the same box) A garage dust pan that we used for scooping up cat litter was placed in the box with all our coats. My husband received an airplane model as a gift from a fellow worker. This friend was given this as an honor and it's cost was around $300.00. I specifically sat it aside and told the packers how valuable it was and to please pack it with care. When we opened the box with it in it, it had on piece of wrapping paper slightly around it and was placed loosely with some lamps. Needless to say it was broken in several places. Many boxes were not labeled as to what was even inside them. I can't express my disappointment enough. We had 4 groups come give us quotes and we picked your group primarily because of your assurance of dependability and the fact moving our F-150 truck was included as part of what you would take care of. The truck arrived from someone Lile had sourced it out to and they burned up the clutch. No one would take responsibility for it so we had to pay for the repairs out of pocket. The packers were nice while they were packing, I have no complains about their attitude. However they took several breaks and smoked marijuana in the truck. We know this was true because we watched them from the upstairs window.This was taking place in your North American Van Lines truck. This is probably the reason for the terrible packing job. WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVERY DEALT WITH. They forgot to put us on the schedule, they trashed our furniture, they delivered late, and they dismissed our complaints. DETAILS: 1. THE MOVE WAS NOT PUT ON THE SCHEDULE. I discovered this literally hours before the move, much to my dismay. 2. THERE WAS NO COMMUNICATION FROM THE COMPANY DURING THE SIX WEEKS BETWEEN OUR PURCHASE OF THE MOVE AND MOVING DAY. On the Friday before the Monday moving day, suspecting we had been forgotten, I frantically began to call and email several people from Lile, trying to get confirmation and an approximate time of arrival. I emailed Brad Fransen, the Relocation Consultant who sold us the move; I emailed and left voicemail for Rob Vargo, the Branch Manager; and I emailed Diane DeAutremont, the President/CEO of the company. NOBODY RESPONDED! Finally, after my fourth email, Brad Fransen responded about 20 hours before the scheduled move. Brad apologized and accepted the blame for not contacting the Bremerton office. 3. WE WERE NOT TOLD THE TRUTH ABOUT THE MOVE. We were told our belongings would be loaded directly onto a large moving van with several other households and delivered to our destination. This was not the case at all. Our belongings were handled multiple times and ultimately placed in an oversized steel container completely unsuited for the shipment and sent by rail. 4. THE DELIVERY WAS LATE. We were told our shipment would arrive no later than August 6. The actual delivery was two days later. 5. THE SHIPMENT ARRIVED WITH NO PAPERWORK. The receiving company, J.A. Haralson Moving & Storage, had to request records and paperwork from Lile. Also, NOTHING HAD BEEN SCANNED INTO THE SYSTEM. This further delayed the delivery. 6. OUR BELONGINGS WERE HEAVILY AND EXTENSIVELY DAMAGED. As noted earlier, our shipment was made in a steel container far too large for the contents. (Container # HGIU 646613). NOTHING WAS STRAPPED DOWN AND THE FURNITURE WAS NOT PADDED! Given these conditions, everything of course rolled and shifted, deeply abrading and gouging our furniture and causing boxes to shift and drop. All of this was noted and recorded by J.A. Haralson Moving & Storage. The company has disavowed all responsibility for everything I have documented. When I complained to the Better Business Bureau in their area, Lile's response was essentially, "Tough luck, not our fault." They refused to offer any solution and simply referred us to North American Van Lines. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! YOU WILL BE VERY, VERY SORRY! read more

They LOST some of my household items during a move. The wooden furniture was not protected and my items were deeply dented and scratched. My upholstered furniture wasn't covered and placed without protection on other items. They are stained with movers hand grub and paint from items they were resting on. Ordered a hot tub through Costco and it was shipped to Lile. They contacted me after 9 days of the hot tub sitting at their warehouse... (of course, I was out of town... not their fault. No worries) I called back when I was back in town and the person who answered informed me that the person at Lile who could schedule deliveries was on lunch. No problem, she'll call me when she's back in. No phone call... I called back later that day and she was gone for the day. Ok, fine - she forgot to call me back. She'll call tomorrow, right? Nope. I called back - she's not available, but she'll definitely call me back this time. No call. Now they don't even answer their phones... always goes to voicemail. I left several messages. Still no call back. At this point, the hot tub has been sitting there for a month. Never mind - I'll just cancel it. I wish good companies like Costco wouldn't use incompetent ones like Lile. read more

My 89-year-old father was moving from Bellevue to Portland, downsizing, to be closer to our family. A hard move under the best of circumstances. I worked with two teams - one of each end. They were prompt, careful, courteous. Nothing broken despite antiques, old clocks, mirrors, etc. They were easy to contact and keep in touch with. Thanks to all involved! The only suggestion I could make to people considering a move is to make sure that the "full value insurance" is an add-on you want. We initially had a good experience with our salesperson, which convinced us to use Lile/NorthAmerican for our move from Vancouver to Sacramento. It was a disaster! They lost boxes, broke multiple items, and damaged many items as well. Our boxes, which were carefully packed and padded, arrived crushed and destroyed. They apparently had no respect forbusbornour belongings, given the state in which they arrived. We are sadly disappointed in Lile, and regret using them for our move. If I could give Lile and all the people who worked on my move--a zillion stars I would. Due to a non-Lile horrible move years ago, late Spring 2016--I interviewed nine companies and representatives. David Valencia slowly beat the six I had chosen to provide estimates. He gave me specific information for every question I asked--prior and after the estimate. He was very careful in scrutinizing location of pickup--downtown Portland tower building--very tight physical parking etc.etc.. He also returns phone calls and e-mails (or lets you know)---- he got your message. (my messages--I have changed a few items I am bringing, etc. I "still haven't found destination house, etc. etc.etc. He was always fully professional--even though I was communicating to him --in the crux of Summer---when Lile Moving and all movers were super swamped with moves. This is what weeded out the others. Swamped, courteous, professional, GENUINE, positive and lowest estimate. Yes, you read correctly--Lile Moving even had the lowest estimate by a few dollars. The move? Monroe, Chris, Linda (at office), and each of the other Lile movers were tops on Move-Out Day. I trusted them in the house. When they initially arrived--on moving day, I was prepared in full--- but anxious; Moving is such a life changing experience. But, I fully calmed down on my own as I observed every detail of each and every Lile Moving person. I didn't interrupt---but, I silently observed all-- for about an hour and then left the house----KNOWING I HAD CARING PEOPLE, QUALITY EXPERTS taking care of my move-- in every detail. (I also lived in a tower full of strict regulations and they were #1 respectful and responsible re: this issue, too.) Three months later, all my stuff was trucked to another state and to a townhome--destination that was difficult to deal with. BUT, again, again, Lile made sure all details were down and perfect. I will never, ever be able to thank them enough. I also every day have been wanting to post....I never forgot for an instant. Why didn't I??? The bottom line---in every other company and person I had to deal with (-ie major phone co. huge utility companies, realtor, title company, handymen, plumber etc.etc. each of them had their issues....in other words, inattentive people who do not care or other issues that resulted with delays and problems. It is pathetic and sad when integrity, reputation and making an professional fully positive mark as one interacts with a client or prospective client does not matter. BUT, I HUNG IN THERE----through thick and thin: Knowing I had found the best of the best as far as a moving company. I trusted them and ALL THE people they worked with (out of state moving affiliates, etc. were #1--as well. By, the way--nothing was broken and nothing was missing. Dealing with other priority businesses who do not care---only fully delayed my posting about Lile Moving and Storage In Tualatin, Oregon. They are the best. I have seen so much---if integrity, a $ value and #1 competitive value and just plain awesome people who work hard means a lot to you---YOU FOUND THEM. They put us at ease with their professionalism...they were fun to be around...they worked hard and fast while being careful with our possessions. And they never complained about waiting for the elevator nor working through the semi-annual garage sale at the retirement community. We liked them so much we have requested Lile to now move the left-overs we need to keep into storage. They delivered a truck full, about 20 items were not mine, and I am missing 7ish boxes. They had to call the warehouse becuase I was missing a lot more boxes until they realized an entire CRATE was still at the warehouse. They also damaged my wood floors and tore up a mop board by placing a metal desk on it ... didn't tell me, I noticed it when I moved it. They said they'd pay for damages to my house and release teh funds after I signed an authorization. PLEASE READ THE COMMUNICATION WITH THIS COMPANY. THEY SENT ME A FORM TO SIGN OFF THE DAMAGE TO MY HOUSEHOLD GOODS AS WELL, ALL FOR THE LOW PRICE TO REPLACE 20 WOOD FLOOR BOARDS. And, might I add that beyond those missing boxes, my dining table was broken and repaired without my knowledge. I'm pretty sick about the entire process and WITHOUT A DOUBT, WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. read more

Where to start? The initial process of quote was fine, but they never followed up to confirm date or time of pick up, should have been a warning. I had to email them to find out when they were coming. Guys who did show up seemed ok, worked fast and seemed functional. We had a 5 day delivery window, which was fine. When they picked up the guys had no clue when stuff would be delivered. We quickly drove to our new location since our delivery window started in a day and expected contact as to when stuff would arrive. 2 days passed, no contact. We'd email and no one would respond and if we called they were snippy and snotty, as were all email contacts, like wanting to know when our stuff would arrive was a pesky question bothering them. Finally said our stuff was getting loaded on Friday, but not when it would be delivered. Days pass, no contact, so we contact them and continue to get snotty replies if at all that they would let us know when it would coml. No stuff, no response. Finally contacted someone besides rude secretary and they said stuff would get loaded soon, so earlier loading day was a lie, illegal business practice? Our stuff finally arrived 2 weeks after pick up and at least 10 days after our delivery window. I finally figured out that our stuff had been sitting in a warehouse and moved a couple times, you can imagine what great care they took with our items, NOT, when moving several times and that the company was waiting until they had a full load. This is NOT what we had been led to believe was going to happen, so they lied about the delivery date and misled us. Fortunately we had a place to stay, but we were basically without our stuff for 2 weeks after it was expected, we had to start work with what we had in our car, we had expected our stuff before work so that was really challenging and expensive. Our stuff was damaged and wet besides being late. I am going to contact regulatory agencies since I feel they used misleading business practices and broke their contract with us.
