Awful experience, unprofessional conduct and no oversight. Strongly advise avoiding this company. My partner and I used Lile International for an overseas relocation, and it ended up being one of the most stressful and horrifying experiences we've ever had with a moving company. Lile assigned a third-party international partner to handle our packing and load-out. Despite providing exact measurements, photos, and clear priority items well in advance (our king bed, table, and clothes), we were told on move day, with only hours before our apartment inspection, that the space prepared was sized for a twin bed instead of a king. With no alternatives offered and no time, we were pressured and told "we'll see what we can do", which led to us discarding our table on the spot so the bed and other items could fit. This was not a voluntary or informed "agreement," but a last-minute reaction to a logistics and communication failure on their partner's side. When we later raised the issue, the branch manager, Martin Aamodt, handled the situation with an unprofessional and hostile tone. Instead of acknowledging the circumstances, he repeatedly accused us of acting in "bad faith," dismissed the written proof we provided, and immediately defaulted to defensiveness. He also threatened to send our account to collections even though we had already stated multiple times that we were prepared to pay once the matter had been reviewed by corporate. This made any meaningful resolution feel impossible, because any attempt to clarify the situation was met with more aggression rather than problem-solving. It also became very clear immediately that Martin had little to no oversight over the Korea-side execution of the move. He was not in communication with his own partner team that he assigned, did not follow up during/after the survey, and placed the full burden of communicating issues with his team and him on us while he remained completely uninvolved during critical parts of the process. We ultimately had to escalate the issue to corporate. While corporate did intervene and waive storage fees (which felt like it should have been a given as the case was under review for mismanagement). However, the lack of oversight, coordination, and professionalism throughout, particularly from management, was extremely disappointing for a relocation service. If you are considering using Lile for an international move, I would strongly advise against it. If you are already working with them, document everything, request confirmation in writing from all partners, and be prepared to advocate for yourself. Our experience fell far short of the professionalism, communication, and accountability we expected. read more

I am a Property Manager for a storage location in Portland Metro Area. The team that moved one of my tenants out were nothing less than sloppy. They left a lot of their own trash outside of the storage unit and in our covered loading bay. There were pieces of half eaten food left out, Dutch Bros cups left out, and a variety of energy drink cans left everywhere. A lot of the cans left behind had liquid that was spilled out into my loading bay, and one drink was spilled with the can picked up, but left the area smelling like alcohol. As a property manager, I love recommending moving companies to my tenants to create healthy and great business relationships, but Lile North American Moving and Storage will definitely be one of the very few companies I will encourage people to stay away from. read more

I moved a medium sized apartment in Portland, OR, to a small house in Worthington, MN. The walk-through estimate, with me, remote, on the phone, went well, and turned out to be pretty accurate. I was happy that she noticed things that I didn't remember. The movers were courteous, fast, and deliberate during the pickup. My move required a shuttle, as the semi couldn't get close to the apartment. My coordinator was awesome, keeping me informed of all timings and required items, and helped a lot when we needed to change credit cards midstream (my fault), with me on the road. The same lead mover, also the truck driver, with a different crew in Minnesota, delivered on time, with care, and with nothing damaged or missing or broken. All in all, I couldn't have imagined a better move - they kept things "normal", which is important during something as stressful as a move. I would definitely recommend. read more

We regret utilizing Lile Moving & Storage company and North American for our out-of-state move. These are a few of the issues we encountered: 1) Poor Communication * When we experienced shipping delays, we communicated with Lile Moving & Storage that we understood that these things can happen and our only request was that we be kept updated. However, this did not happen and when we attempted to reach Lile, they stopped answers our calls, voice messages and emails. * We only learned that our belongings had been shipped crossed state lines when the local moving company called us to coordinate a delivery date. Poor communication with Lile led to much unnecessary frustration for us. 2) Poor packing and destruction of property, many items are irreplaceable. * Family heirlooms and vintage furniture arrived without any wrapping/protection/blanket padding and items were simply stacked on top of other items, causing dents, broken pieces and items to be smashed. * Our child's custom Lego table was torn apart, and flat Lego boards that were superglued down to the table were ripped off. This egregious behavior was completely unnecessary and the table was destroyed. We had discussed the specifics of moving of our child's Lego table with the crew lead and we were reassured that these instructions would be followed. Our child's Lego table left our home and it was destroyed sometime at Lile Storage. Who would do that to a kid? * Our living room lamps were placed in garden supply containers amongst shovels, rakes, and unwrapped ceramic pots. The wiring of the lamps was destroyed. Our indoor air purifier and space heater were thrown into an unpacked garden box with the garden hose, unwrapped ceramic pots, and gardening odds and ends. * Many boxes arrived smashed, dented or torn apart. 3) We were overcharged. * Our moving costs included two components: weight and the number of boxes that Lile packed on our behalf. We opened many boxes that were partially/half-packed and "fluffed" with packing paper, which increased our costs. * Our Visa was charged the estimate by North American, long before our belongings had left the Lile warehouse, and before the shipment had been weighed. We also were overcharged for the number of boxes packed by Lile. When attempting to resolve this with Lile, who was still our point of contact, our calls and messages were not answered or returned. We ultimately had to engage Visa to dispute this charge, and Visa reversed the difference. 4) Dealing with the claims process is a part-time job. Since Lile contracts with North American, all claims get routed to North American. The claims process is time-consuming, frustrating, slow, and fraught with denials then appeals. We love our new home and community we live in, though Lile Moving & Storage, along with North American, certainly made the transition more stressful than it needed to be, and we would never use either company again. We had an excellent experience with our local moving company, AirVan Moving company and their service was exemplary on the back-half of our move. We wish you good luck with your move! read more

I'd give it zero stars if I could. We moved from Salem, OR to MT March 2020. The packing job was horrible. We have an antique grandfather clock that was supposed to be ' taken care of'. It arrived damaged even though we paid extra to have it taken care of. Now the company tells us it was our fault for not choosing the 'right' care even though there were No options given. Other furniture damaged, things thrown in boxes unwrapped. Boxes not properly noted in the inventory sheet so when boxes are missing you have no idea what was in them. We received someone else's tv and they don't seem to care if the people get it back. No offer of arranging a return. I'm sure they are having to file a claim just like we are. I imagine that will be Useless as well. I can't say enough bad things about this experience. DON'T use them. read more

Deliberately deceives military service members who are already in a disadvantage situation. I returned from a 7 month deployment and immediate had to move with my wife and 2 month old. They where 17 days late in delivering my household goods. During that period, the were required to pay for " Expenses include but are not limited to lodging, meals/groceries, laundry service/incidental expenses, as well as furniture and/or appliance rental, and /or purchase of items such as towels, pots, pans, paper plates, plastic ware, and napkins. " per Rosa.Giorgini@lile.net on 14 July. Weeks later they said that meals were covered but not groceries...direct contradiction to their message. If I would have known, I would have spent far more money going out to eat and living in a hotel, but I was trying to do the right thing to save money. I'm now hundreds of dollars out thanks to this company. read more

Moved from Vancouver, WA to Phoenix area. I just knew there was going to be issues when they picked up my stuff in two different trucks and unloading it into a warehouse and then loading it up into a semi for the trip down to AZ. In AZ our stuff was moved into a storage unit until our home was was ready. I might add that the long haul driver would not let me check off the boxes as they were unloaded to make sure everything was there as he assured me he had done that when he loaded everything up (he just didn't want to take the time to check everything) After moving into our house my worst fears were realized as many things were missing. My sales person Renee Clasby was useless. She said I had to file a claim with North American van lines, and of course I knew what would happen, they couldn't find my stuff and awarded me a whole $36 based on one box even though I was missing several boxes. I know exactly what happened. Because everything was picked up in two trucks, everything on that second truck was misplaced in Lile's warehouse and didn't make it down to AZ. When they probably discovered these boxes, instead of doing the right thing, they probably looked at the cost of shipping it down to me, and just said let's just have him file a claim knowing I would only collect a small amount. This is a totally unreliable company and you should not do business with a company like this. I will never use North American or Lile again, you shouldn't either if you don't want to lose $1,000s of goods. I can't begin to tell you how upset I am since I had to replace the missing goods, which some can not be replaced. read more

We appreciate their prompt service and skill getting all of our items moved into the new home. Hired them due to how long they've been in business in Washington state. virtual tour estimate weighed me in at 17,000lbs. Actual weight was 14,100 lbs. charged me 12,000 for 17,000lbs, said I would get a refund if under weight. I received 1,300 for them over estimating weight....math does not add up here, obviously grossly under refunded me due to what they charge per pound. Obviously a scam on their part. Load out in Wa. a major antique was severely damaged, multiple witnesses but they forgot to list it on a stack of papers for me to sign. Office called movers mid day to tell them they had to load out in same day, they worked until evening. I helped by breaking down furniture for them. They delivered semi to wrong company in Phoenix, took me awhile to find it. Phoenix unloading: 5 guys verses me watching and directing traffic. They damaged several antiques,lied about it, hid pieces so I wouldn't see it for days. Refused to help me put furniture back together...stated since I helped break down in Wa.state, they would not put anything back together. As a single woman, it was a nightmare to deal with the aftermath and the shortage of the refund in weight. I would never recommend them to anyone nor hire them again. read more

As generous as your $300 seems, when you break down the average entities of living it pales in comparison. An average hotel room in my new area is $77.00, and per diam for eating out (both from gsa.gov) for all meals is $46.00. If you take those two numbers times the 10 days that I didn't have my possessions it is $1230.00. That is not even including the clothing that I had to buy since I am a working professional, and did not have near the clothes that I needed. What I asked for in compensation was a drop in the bucket compared to what I deserve, and it was denied. Once again, I remain extremely disappointed on all accounts. The good news, I have received my things. The bad news, it has now cost me close to DOUBLE to move when it was 100% out of my control. Explain that. read more

The company contacted us and it was professional from the beginning to the end. We video conferenced so they could see the home and contents and a few days later they had packers there followed the next day with the movers. All items were taken to storage and delivered on the requested delivery date. We had absolutely no damage, all items were accounted for and everyone was professional, friendly and they made the relocation as stress free as possible. I have waited to write a review until we have unloaded all the boxes. We have family crystal and china that has sentimental value and the care they used was superb. We have no breakage. Mounted fish were packed and again no damage. I had a question and spoke with the delivering driver the next day who answered all my questions but asked if I had any concerns. Steve Corless came by to do an in-house estimate. After I showed him everything I needed loaded and moved to southern Oregon, he let me know that it was going to be a "light" move. He said that they were pretty booked but that they had a cancelation around the dates I wanted to move. I was flexible on dates. He said he would contact me the next day to let me know the cost. I never heard back from him and it has been 4 days since then. Do not recommend this company. read more

Scheduled an estimate visit for today, November 11... called to make sure he was coming and was told that I had called and rescheduled for tomorrow, that she had talked to me! I did not, had no reason to... Jenny said she was sorry for the misunderstanding... I said there was no misunderstanding as I had never called and never wanted to reschedule... I pointed out that I had not received a confirmation e mail for tomorrow... again she said sorry for the misunderstanding but that other people working there had access to the system... hmmmm. read more

I had a very bad experience with this moving company on an interstate move and feel the strong responsibility to warn others in very clear terms. This is a low-quality moving company which is dangerously marginal for a legitimate business. I have a strong suspicion of borderline unethical practices. If you don't have valuable goods which you wish to protect in transit, and don't really mind missing a dozen boxes and waiting months for a settlement which is pennies on the dollar, then perhaps Lile should be considered. By the way, that's the result I got when I elected to buy $700 of 'full replacement cost' insurance! I bet the airline industry would be delighted to pay passengers $50 for each piece of lost luggage --- but this is what this company can get away with in this unregulated industry. read more

Haven't even received furniture yet and such a disappointment. Moved closing date up two weeks to get into house early, called to get furniture delivered and didn't get a firm answer for over a week, and only after I notified the branch manager. When a driver was finally assigned (2 weeks later) just 4 days before delivery, they pushed the delivery date out another 3 days. Extremely disappointed in their service, as they have now had the furniture for 1 month and we are still without furniture in our new home. They also kept saying how "impressed" they were that they found a driver at all - seems to me that is your job. This is all after no indication was made that there was a driver shortage beforehand. read more

Much of the company does a good job, but when they make a mistake in packing, they deny it was their fault. Rather than bend over backwards to help the customer who has paid thousands for an interstate move, they stonewall their responsibility and deny any liability. They are not the norm, thank goodness, since experience with other interstate moving companies has been much more satisfactory. read more

We moved from Cave Junction to Grants Pass. Have had more, MUCH MORE damage to my things then my previous 5 moves combined and doubled more likely tripled!!! I'm just now putting in claims and hope the other person who reviewed above is incorrect regarding Lile's coverage !! Will follow up later and let people know. MANY of our family antiques were damaged beyond repair and several brought my wife to tears, this was truly a terrible terrible experience. FYI the customer service of the Medford branch manager was disappointing AT BEST!! Thus far if I could give them a half star rating or 1/4 star rating I would and the chances of my EVER giving this company a recommendation are so far below ZERO that the number doesn't exist. If ANYONE would like pictures of the way these people pack things let me know I have over a 100 pictures and would be happy to post them !!!!! Be warned we have numerous places were they banged into door jams including our front door. They just DON'T CARE !! I live in Oregon and due to the laws all legitimate movers charge pretty much the same amount based on weight and distance. That leaves service as the key component in making a decision on movers. I used Lile to move my family from Southern Oregon to the Portland area about six years ago and the experience was great.. the same team that picked up, delivered the next day and did a great job. Nothing was lost or broken and they arrived on time at both ends. I used Lile again to move our household to Eugene from Portland in December. This time one team loaded and another team delivered. Both teams were excellent!! They had to disassemble an IKEA desk I had built upstairs at the old home and somehow got it back together correctly at my new home! They put all the furniture in the exact spot that we asked. All the teams were pleasant, professional and were where they said they'd be when they said they'd be there. Couldn't ask for better service. Thank you Lile - I am NEVER moving again... but if I did - I would use your service! read more

We LOVE Lile!! Lile has been donating their moving services to Breast Friends by moving our Gala auction items from the office in Tigard to the gala venue downtown Portland for the past six or seven years. They are the BEST! Our auction items include fragile and unusual shapes - the movers are super careful when loading and unloading our items and have always arrived in great condition.
