Cute place. Parking was very limited. Unfortunately my entire piercing experience was terrible with Misha today. I went to get my Philtrum pierced (also scheduled a vertical labret) and everything went wrong. There were no tapers readily available, the only jewelry options were the upgraded $25 ones and Misha's hands were shaking so much the whole time -which is why I chose not to go get my vertical labret done. My Philtrum ended up really crooked -the back kept catching and when I looked it was over my right front tooth. I called to let the shop know and was given a refund for service and to take it out and return in a week with the head piercer. I choose the refund as I am no longer comfortable going there again. read more

Was definitely excited to book with an all women studio. Been following for a while. Wanted to book for a week I had off for bday week. Talked to the liaison who pointed me in the direction of Shavonne. It took her a week to get back to me pushing the consultation out of time for scheduling so booked for a Tuesday @ and 1. I sent Shavonne pics of what I wanted at the size I wanted but was presented w/ a generic printed design. I opted against her design and later discussed that ultimate we needed to plan out the design a little better and opted to reschedule the original design. Settled for a different design a lot more simple. She put a total of 3 stencils and I waited 4 hours just to be turned away and claimed I was "too indecisive" about what I wanted. In my opinion this is very bad business. The vibe was off from the beginning from stepping into the middle of a deep conversation being had at the front desk to majority of my time waisted. She sat at the front of the shop with coworkers waisting my time just to ask for a consultation fee. Definitely disappointed in the visit because I was really looking forward to it. read more

I had a fabulous experience at Lilac tattoo parlor. I ordered a corkscrew nose piece from Alluring Body because it is super tiny BUT had trouble putting it in my nose. I went to many other tattoo parlors, no one would help me, they all required me to purchase jewelry. Came to Dallas to visit my friend back in May and my two girlfriends and I decided to get matching tattoos. Before coming in we called and asked what the shop minimum was. They told me over the phone that the shop minimum was $80 for arms and legs. I have a full sleeve and have no problem paying for quality tattoos however, after we got tattooed we were told it would be $220 for the outline and $350 for color! My line work tattoo took less than 10 minutes and I was charged $220 not including tip. I would have been happy to pay more than the minimum plus tip but $220 before tip felt outrageous for something that took less than 10 minutes...I have the same size tattoo on my other calf and took the same amount of time and paid $120. Sit down, buckle up and get some popcorn and your juicebox because is gonna be a long review. I been doing some research on tattoo places in Dallas and I had planed to go during the Friday the 13th event many tattoo parlors have in place. One day I was on Instagram and saw stories of lilac so I was like 'ok cool I gotta remember that place'. I had planned to go to lilac on the 13th because I really liked their flash sheets and their whole concept (ill get to that later). I got off work at 3 pm and drove to Dallas and when I arrived at lilac it was packed. I found a parking spot and walked inside just to be told they were no longer taking customers for the Friday 13 specials. Ok cool, no problem so I went down to deep Ellum to Artistic Encounters (remember that name later). When I got there I did some more research on yelp of the place and a name stood out to me and then I realize I had seen it somewhere before. The owner of Lilac is Domenique, Dom for short, turns out she use to work at Artistic Encounters before she open up her own shop. If you look at the reviews on Yelp for AE you will see some of her work and some reviews for her. I strongly recommend going to read them. A week after getting a tattoo at AE I was watching Ink Master Angels on paramount plus. Season 1 episode 2 was filmed in Dallas and I was surprised to see that dom was a contestant in the show! I had no idea but that just a fun FYI. I would suggest watching the show I like it. Lilac had a one-year anniversary flash event on December 12 2021 and this time I was ready to and see what they were all about. They stated they would open at 11am so I woke up early and drove from fort worth to Dallas and got there by 10am. I was about the 14th person in line and I am sure glad I brought my folding chair and a bag lunch because it was a few hours before they opened. People keep arriving and the line kept stretching further down the street. When they finally did open they only allowed 10 people in at a time. You put your name on a clipboard and then when its your turn they give you a phone call. I waited about 40 minutes after they opened to go inside and put my name on the tattoo list and the piercing list. I got 2 piercings and was seated almost immediately after filling out the paperwork. I would not recommend getting pierced here because it was so painful I was in tears for both piercings I got. I have gotten body piercings at other shops that hurt way less then here. The 2 piercers "the piercing unicorn" and I think her name is Mercedez (?). My nose was getting irritated 3 weeks into having this piercing and I thought it was because it was swollen and eventually it would go down. I got my septum pierced with them and it was painful but maybe 3 months later I had the ball of the jewelry fall off and it went down the drain when I was cleaning it. I went to a local tattoo place in fort worth to get a replacement ball end because I could not make it out to Dallas. Fast forward my septum is healed and I go to change it, the jewelry they put on me was so small for my nose it was rubbing up against me and that was what was causing the irritation. The piercer should have gone up a size and put a longer septum for me because it was too small for my nose. The piercer should have the knowledge to give each client the proper size jewelry that would best fit the clients body part/ear. After getting my piercings I decided to wait inside since the girl at the front desk it would be about "30 minutes". Those 30 min turned into 2.5hrs of me waiting to get tattooed and I was the 14th person in line! Imagine all the people that were just showing up and getting on the list to get tattooed. I got there by 10:30am and I left around 2pm that day. When I finally got tattooed by Dom we made some small talk and I mentioned I tried to get on the list for their Friday 13 flash event a few months ago. She mentioned to me that day they tattooed over 300+ people and were so overwhelmed they stayed past closing. The actual tattooing took no more than 20 minutes but it took almost 30 min trying to check out and pay. Honestly they need to be more organized to keep customers in the order they sign up because there were people who were in line behind me that were called before me. So yeah I been sitting on this review for over a year before posting, I would have been the first review for this location but I wanted to be fair. Since then this shop has actually opened another location in fort wort with much better parking and much better working space. It was quick and easy! I called the place and inquired about a walk in. I saw a design on one of the artist's Instagram page and fell in love. They gave me the number for Mea and I texted her the details. She was able to fit me in the same day. The shop was super cute and clean. Check in was a breeze. I just had to fill out a form. Mea printed out two sizes and made sure I was happy with the placement, details, and size before we got started. I appreciated her being real with me and giving suggestions without being pushy. The time from checking in and finishing the tattoo was probably a little under an hour. Mea was also thorough with maintenance and cleaning instructions. I got some extra derm shield in case I needed it and I got a free sticker! Can't go wrong with free stickers. Very pleased with the results! I would highly recommend! read more

I visited Lilac Tattoo Studio on two separate occasions, once in 2019 and 2023, for three different services, now the last. Recently, I went in for a jewelry change serviced by DANI, a piercing APPRENTICE, who was WITHOUT ANY ACTIVE SUPERVISION DURING the SERVICE. I visited the shop for a jewelry change service on November 11th. I left feeling soreness, tightness, and pressure in my conch piercing. As a result, I became more delicate and careful with my ear to not further irritate the piercing; I also did not adopt any changes within my usual routine, though Dani claims otherwise to avoid accountability. However, the following day, on November 12th, I noticed the lingering pain. So, I became skeptical of the supposed adjustment of my conch piercing to the jewelry change. By Monday, November 13th, the pain was nearly unbearable, so I took pictures of my conch piercing, with minimal movement and no manipulation, to get an idea of what was going on. That's when I realized my conch piercing was more inflamed and red, and it later became warm to the touch, which was highly concerning to me. Thus, I gave Lilac Tattoo Studio a call for information and suggestions but was barely helped as an artist answered the phone and suggested I take the piercing out, which was essentially impossible at that point, or give the studio a call back for someone else to assist. Because of the shop's availability, I was advised to leave my information for them to return my call. Therefore, I shared my information for them to give me a callback, which I never received. Unfortunately, the pain spread to my entire ear, causing it to be practically unbearable. So, I went to a different tattoo and piercing studio nearby, as I live about an hour from Lilac Tattoo Studio, to basically have a 20-minute surgery to remove jewelry that was too short for my ear anatomy. Even so, the piercer allowed for a comparison of what jewelry was more appropriate for my conch piercing as she underlined how the jewelry was too short and, therefore, too tight for the thickness of my conch, even without any swelling. Accordingly, please feel free to view the pictures attached to this review. After spending more money for a service I expected Lilac Tattoo Studio to fulfill, I called the studio the following day regarding my desired refund outcome. I was told again to call back at another time. That's when I was unproductively advised to inform Dani of my experience despite being told that the experience would need to be redirected to the shop owner. Hence, I communicated how I wanted to avoid repeating my concerns to Dani over text, as I wanted a refund and expected the conversation to go the route it did. Nevertheless, I received a text from Dani the following morning on November 16th. That's when the bar became even shorter than the conch piercing that Dani put in my conch. DANI, again, who was a piercing APPRENTICE, failed to take responsibility and accountability for my personal experience. I have had eight piercings; I never had an adverse reaction of this nature that almost led me to urgent care, which was validated by another piercer at a different tattoo/piercing shop rather than Dani or Lilac Tattoo Studio. But this is an experience for which I paid an overpriced $40.00 with a regrettable tip and was offered a personal yet pitiful $10 as a "refund" from Dani. If I couldn't even have a proper jewelry change service, I wouldn't dare to get my ears pierced by this shop. While others have stated, I emphasize that Lilac Tattoo Studio is an overpriced and overhyped tattoo/piercing shop, often excused because it is female-owned. I am all for women's empowerment; this shop fails that congruency. You're likely better off somewhere else that not only offers services from female artists but also takes care of their female customers and beyond. I also noticed how the shop typically responds to reviews in a passive-aggressive and invalidating manner, reiterating my experience and the experiences of many others, whether evident in the reviews or not. read more

Jo has done it once again! Drove from Houston to Dallas for this 5.5 hour sesh, absolutely worth the drive. I told Jo what I wanted as my gap filler and she executed my half-baked idea into a work of art. Her area is always clean and tidy, and she has sick artwork and trinkets that really show her personality. I WILL SAY, not every artist is the same at this shop. I can't believe the service when it comes to piercings. We came here for tattoos and it was a great experience. My friend came here to simply change her earrings. They first told her they were fully booked which is understandable so my friend asked to buy the jewelry to make the change herself. They told her they could fit her in, which was great but once she was in the seat the communication between client and piercer was nonexistent. My friend specifically told the piercer she just wanted to change the earring and keep the same gauge size. The piercer completely ignored her and re pierced her ears with a bigger gauge. She did NOT communicate before doing this. My friend keloids very easy. The piercer did not ask this or give my friend the chance to tell her. All she said was this is going to hurt. They charged her $100 and put a low quality metal in her ears. We will never come back here for piercings or tattoos. read more

I wanted to love this all female tattoo shop but unfortunately it was the worst tattoo experience I have ever had. My daughter and I walked in 8 minutes after opening for a walk in tattoo (a small sparkle cluster). We were the only clients in there and was told they could do them, just needed to draw them up really quick. Raven drew them up and showed us two size options with pricing written on the examples. We sat there waiting while Raven drank her Starbucks and chatted with the other girls for an hour and half. She took us back and put the stencil on my daughter's wrist and left again for almost 45 minutes. My daughter went to the front to ask what the hold up was and was completely ignored. I went to the front to ask if we needed to come back and she said no she was coming. She gets in the room and said she apologized, she was discussing pricing with the girls up front. Why? With clients in your chair? She did our tattoos. Small, line work only, no shading, under the size of a half dollar. The price quoted was $130 for mine and $130 my daughter's. Which I felt was overpriced but agreed to it because we came from OKC with this place as a must in our weekend plans. We love the tattoo, clean lines. We go to the front to pay and my daughter pays first. Then the girl at the front looked at me and said, "Yours is $260." I questioned it so she went to the back and asked Raven to clarify and came back and said again, "$260." Raven never came out to talk to me or to clarify herself. She barely talked to us during the entire process so I don't know why that shocked me. So I now have 4 small sparkles that are line work only with zero shading on my hand for $260. I went here for my aunties birthday she wanted to get her tragus pierced. The front desk lady with the short black hair was not friendly at all. I asked if they had a list of the services they offered with the prices and she looked at me as if I asked her to do a back flip. She was visually disgusted with my question and didn't even assist me in what services they offered. In that moment I decided I no longer wanted to get a piercing anymore. The rest of the staff was very nice and I liked that it was women owned and everyone was friendly. There was the girl that looked like Billie Eilish and she was so sweet and made me feel comfortable with her welcoming vibe. Our piercer was visually very nervous but did a good job. I will say the verbal aftercare instructions she gave us did not match what was on the aftercare print out. Which was very confusing but luckily my aunt is a nurse so she knew what to do. I did enjoy the decor! It was very bright and full of Halloween decorations:) I do like that they had a TV because I can imagine getting a tattoo can be boring so offering entertainment is nice. When I walked in I was greeted with a receptionist that just looked miserable to be there. Next, they told me there was a 5 hour wait but they pride themselves on being walk in. The tattoo artists, just like the receptionist looked miserable and annoyed to be there. All of their ads say they're a friendly and comfortable tattoo shop but that is the opposite vibes I got when I was in there. After many red flags I walked out before they even called my name. We heard about this studio from a few different people and how friendly everyone was. And it being all girls. So we went to check it out. My friend called to make sure they had walk ins available. They did. So we drove over an hour to the shop. We had to wait about and and a half. Which is okay. While we waited she pulled up the design she wanted and such. When the tattoo artist (Jo) finally finished the drawing outline she brought 2 different sizes. My friend picked the bigger size. While getting tattooed my friend and I were talking on and off. After like 20 minutes of talking the artist (Jo) snaps and says she can't talk. But didn't say anything about her talking beforehand. She could've said it nicely at the very least. During the tattoo Jo had said "this tattoo isn't really a walk-in tattoo" but the front had told her it's cute and it wouldn't take too long. If it wasn't a walk-in tattoo then why give her size options?? (Picture of tattoo attached to review). She was very rude during the whole encounter. While she was coloring in the tattoo she used an outline needle to fill the tattoo in. Which took double the time. Half way through it she asked a coworker for her bigger needle because she didn't have one. The tattoo should've been wayyy cheaper for what it was. I got half of a sleeve done for the price of this tattoo. This place is WAY OVERPRICED. The price of my friends tattoo was $300 without a tip. I know everyone prices differently. But I asked a around and everyone I talked to said it was way overpriced for the type of tattoo it is. And how it shouldn't have taken over 2 hours to do. When we had called and expressed concern about the healing process and to talk about the manners of Jo because she used a lining needle to fill in over half of of the cat , they said the owner would contact us. That never happened at all. I can honestly say I wouldn't ever recommend this shop to anyone. On a side note the rest of the workers were pretty nice. I know other comments have said that the receptionist (front lady) was very rude but, the receptionist that was there at the time was probably the nicest out of everyone. I came to Lilac to get my industrial piercing, after looking at my anatomy to ensure I had the right ear shape for the piercing, it was decided I had the appropriate anatomy. The piercer told me she was going to use a previous hole (my cartilage piercing) for the bottom of the industrial, she stretched it and pierced the top and I was done. The night of my ear began swelling and the barbell tops were becoming embedded in my ear. I returned to the shop to see if they could help but they were immediately dismissive of me, the interactions prior to this were very similar. I visited another shop to see if they could help and basically told me the barbell was way too short for the piercing and removed it. I got my nostril pierced and it was such a quick and easy going experience. I was nervous at first, but Leydi was calm and patient with me which also helped. She checked to make sure I liked the location prior to her proceeding. She was gentle with my piercing and provided me with all of the after care instructions. The atmosphere was amazing! We were greeted by Brooklyn as soon as we walked in - super sweet and energetic! Everyone was nice, professional, and a total vibe! I loved it and the sense of Women Empowerment! All was very helpful for me because I also knew that I was going to need an appointment ahead of time. Leydi books up fast, and I'm sure the tattoo artist are the same. For tattoos (I didn't get one, but read some info on it): Be sure to go to their website for info/ social media to see when their available for walk in's (for smaller tattoos). For larger tattoos you'll need an appointment, and their is a minimum. So do your research FIRST! This establish is very organized. You can tell they want the keep things running smoothly. I appreciate their efforts, and the appointment setting being that I have a pretty hefty drive to Dallas. I had been wanting to get a tattoo from Lilac for quite awhile. My friend and I came in as walk-ins. Her artist was great and she had a good interaction and experience. My artist was Jo and it was the mostly unfriendly and cold exchange I've ever had with a tattoo artist. My friend overheard parts of our conversation and commented on how she seemed to be so emotionless and impersonal. Her verbiage and way of speaking to me felt very condescending and did not make me feel comfortable. Mean girl vibe as soon as you walk in. All the employees are sitting behind the front desk on their phones laughing and not being welcoming, felt like I was interrupting. The girl who checked me in barely made any eye contact and was not welcoming. The actual appointment was okay. I went in for a jewelry change, though the piercer did not ask which color jewelry I wanted, I got lucky she guessed silver because that's what I wanted. I really wanted to like this place as it's advertised as women owned but the whole place felt cliquey. Horrible costumer service, which by looking at other reviews, seems to be a common experience. Came in for a tattoo. I heard of this studio via social media and was immediately enthralled by the premise of a warm, female-centric safe space. I flew from out of a state, especially with Lilac on my agenda. Let me preface by saying I totally understand everyone has off days etc. Upon entry the staff was incredibly friendly and kind, (came for a walk-in tattoo), and was informed of the wait time. My friend and I waited until my slot was up. I really do love the tattoo I received. My issue was my tattoo artist. I have a few other tattoos and never have I felt such hostile energy from an artist. It really threw me off because every single person beyond her I spoke to was utterly kind and welcoming. I understand that she needs to give me certain instructions but the tone and manner she addressed me threw me off. Very cold. I really liked the work but I was nervous to even ask her anything due to her chilly interactions with me. I just wish I had felt more comfortable with the person tattooing me and she had been a little kinder. This attitude and hostility started right from when she offered the designs. She also offered me two design sizes for my walk-in tattoo and about halfway through informed me, "this isn't really a walk-in design size it's about half the size of my hand" which is so understandable! What I didn't get is why she offered me two different sizes if she would have preferred to do the smaller size for a walk-in. Everything that was said to me was said in a rude way. It's not what she was saying, just the delivery and overall interactions throughout. Really sad considering how much I was looking forward to this, and how everyone else was so kind, but my artist just wasn't toward me. I get everyone has off days, just was thrown off. She also used a very small needle for both the line work and most of the shading until she borrowed a larger one for the shading from a coworker. My artist back home told me that because of the super small needle that was used, the healing process might be a bit more tender/the tattoo will be rawer. I called the following day just to speak to the owner or a manager to ask about it. The person who answered the phone said they would let her know I called and took my info, but I have yet to receive a callback. For a $300 tattoo at such a reputable place, I guess I expect a little more response about a healing process concern. Primarily I am just disappointed because I was looking forward to this place, and was fairly uncomfortable with my artist's demeanor the entire session. I wish I can give this shop a -10. I should have taken the hint when I first went in the shop and encountered the front desk attendant. She came off very hostile just by calling in and asking information. Would everything you talk to her about she responded and it's such a negative way as if it's a argument. I also witnessed how she would tell others that asked about walk in details in a hostile way. So I initially wanted to get a tattoo by the owner Dominique after seeing the Facebook post and seeing her style and how the shop was supposed to be a "safe place for females" to get tattooed. Dominique was booked and I did see work that Shavonne did and agreed to getting a walk-in tattoo. I also did a consultation to get another tattoo a couple days later. Meanwhile while I was getting my tattoo the front desk attendant kept coming in the room to see if she was finished and acted like she wanted to see the work so bad. Fast-forward to me asking her about the Valentine's Day flash. I asked her if she could tell me what tattoos what they have and the details everything. Never heard back but I saw the video and details about the Valentine's flash deal on Facebook and it stated that it would be running to the end of the month. A messaged her on Instagram to get information on coming in it wasn't too clear because messages can get construed so I called in and I spoke to the front desk attendant who confused me more by just rambling on and telling me what you cannot do and was just like I'm sorry we're booked blah blah blah even though I stated to her I just spoke to Shavonne. So I called in and spoke to Shavonne and she told me to come in once she talk to the front desk attendant and she told her that it was OK I stated that I will be there give me about 30 minutes she said OK and hung up the phone. Shavonne didn't state anything like you have to be here in a certain amount of time to get tattooed. Shavonne didn't state that someone else was waiting. Shavonne Tell me that she did not have anybody else to Tattoo for the night and that they close at 9 o'clock. It took me an hour to get there and when I got there they told me sorry you took too long. Call at 6:02 pm made it there right at 7:00pm. The attitude was beyond me...and she kept explaining how I should have called again and that I took too long and explaining their policies after the fact. Then I'll message Savanna on IG just letting her know that I was disappointed in everything and she got defensive and gave me an attitude when I told them that I was not ever coming back there which you can read the messages yourself down below. I have spent almost $1000 for two tattoos and was coming back to spend at least $400 more. Ok ...yes I was greeted by the desk attendant yes. Did anyone else speak to me in the shop no. Do you feel welcome when you come in there no. Was the shop clean yes it was clean as it should be. Oh and thanks Dominique for deleting the comment I left on your page stating " I had a bad experience in your shop". We had a consultation after setting an appointment a week ahead of time. When we showed up, the artist we had booked wasn't there. The front desk texted her and she showed up late and was clearly high. Not that I care, because her work was incredible. Jo was a little hostile, but we got along well enough and talked through a plan and set a date. She said she would text. She did...at 1am the night before and asked for the art (again). 50 minutes before our appointment, she cancelled and said something came up and she couldn't make it. I went here today with my 4 friends to get matching tatoos. We checked their instagram and saw walk in availability and so we showed up around 5:50. It took a while for us to get settled in with us choosing our final design and sizing but the staff was super nice during the whole process and was very accommodating. We got our tatoos around 6:35ish and the artists were truly amazing. They were all so kind and reassuring and my artist (Brooklyn) talked my friends and I through everything and made me much less nervous. The tatoos didn't take long and it was a very smooth process. The staff was so welcoming and kind to all of us and I would recommend this shop to anyone. The pricing was reasonable as they were each $60 without tip. Photos attached read more

i got my nipples pierced here in september. when i got them done they really didn't look even but no biggie. the longer i let them heal i realized they were pierced completely incorrectly so they wouldn't heal. the piercer pierced my areola area instead of the correct area. spent 100$ and tipped 20$ just to take them out. I've been wanting my nipples pierced for a long time but after that experience i'm so turned off to the whole idea. don't get your nipples pierced here trust me. read more

If I could give them 0 stars I would. Worst experience ever. First they don't do appointments for small tattoos...so walked in 10min after they opened and told me it would be a 2-3 hr wait. I said ok, got on the list and waited. 5 hours later still nothing. Asked for an update and was told I wouldn't get called until at least 7pm. I did not have bad work but bad customer service. I so wanted to support since it's all women and owned by a woman of color but it was hard. They have poor hospitality and communication. I just ask to not be treated like a bother when asking questions and acknowledge the people entering your shop whether they're coming to you for work or not. read more

I got my nose pierced here and the piercing unicorn is amazing. No pain at all. She's a magician.

I got my nipples pierced here everyone was nice, and it was quick and easy. Everything was clean. And I healed quickly. Definitely recommend, and will come back for any other piercings I get. read more
