I'm a new bowler. Chris made me very comfortable and answered all my questions thoroughly. My ball is working great!

It's cold and snowing. Teens are the temps, as the saying goes. But out of the dark blustery…read moreevening winter chill you see neon signs. You walk in the door to a cozy warm entryway that opens into an intimate, old fashioned bar space. Three booths. Some chairs at the old wooden bar. A dart board. The whole place seems like it comes from a sitcom in your youth--including the prices. We're talking $3 for a Genny light draft, $4 for 12 horse, $5 for a Rohrbach pale ale, $9 for a hamburger. You get the idea (prices are from January 2025). Bring a book or bring a friend. Or several friends. All of the menu items are passable, but the wings are good. The wings are so good. The wings are so good that when you mention to people that you've been to L&M lanes they'll go, "oh, they have really good wings." Go. Get a pint. Get some cheap eats. Hang out and be cozy for a while. They also have bowling.

The bowling alley was pretty empty for a Friday night which was a little concerning but thought nothing of it at first. However the problems started once the bowling started. I'm fine with older lanes and they can be fun but the lanes just kept having problems of not returning balls, counting/not counting pins as gone, the balls were cracked etc. we played for two hours and felt like half of the time was just fixing the lane. Luckily my crew was pretty chill and didn't really care about the game we were there to hang out. So if you actually want to bowl probably not the best spot for you. They also had food and drinks which were pretty standard for your local bowling alley. Nothing to speak crazily about, just basic wings and beer

This is a good spot for a family outing to the lanes…read more It's pretty bare bones, and probably hasn't been updated in decades, but bowling is still the same sport, so what updates are needed? They've got bowling lanes, a pool table, some claw machines and vending machines, and next door, the Viking Valhalla restaurant/bar. It's convenient to be able to walk into the bar to order beers and drinks and food and more. The bartender was super nice, as was really everyone we met. Basically, the beer is cheap, the shoes were in decent shape, and the lanes were open. We didn't get any wings this time, but I think that's in the cards next time. The only drawbacks, as I see them: 1. They seem to have a lot of rules. Only our youngest kids could use the bumpers, as they were worried about damage. They also watched us pretty closely to make sure all shoe rules were being followed. Maybe that's just because we were just about the only folks in there. That said, the place is clean and well kept, which I imagine is because they are vigilant. 2. I got a lot of false hope after throwing two strikes right out of the gate. I was looking at the guy's name scrawled on the wall for his 300 game, and dreaming it could be me. Turns out I couldn't even break 150.
