We've eaten here many times in the past 5 years. Food is good, prices have gone up but are still…read moredecent, service is excellent, and this is one of the few old-fashioned sit-down restaurants left around. I'd rate it a 4.5 if it wasn't for the thievery they are now practicing on their customers... So, at the end of an always-enjoyable meal, instead of an itemized bill (which I believe is REQUIRED BY LAW), the waiter just presented a hand-held payment device stating NOTHING but the total. We demanded an itemized bill, which they took 5 minutes to create. Now, this itemized bill amount was a bit less, which could've been an honest mistake, but really, do they EVER make a mistake in the customer's favor? As normal, we leave a 20% pre-tax tip (one of the reasons why we needed the itemized bill), but when entering the credit card info, the machine "suggested" different tip amounts, and THERE is where the blatant scam occurrs! So, on a pre-tax bill of $78, what is 20%? It's $15.60. The post tax bill was something around 84.25, and 20% of THAT would be $16.85. But this hand-held "electronic grift machine" says that 20% is.....$21?? In what alternate universe is THIS possible? The obvious answer is that they are trying to scam people out of another $5, maybe $10, or even more! When did they decide to fleece their customers for petty increases? Do they think that fiscal dishonesty is a valid business model? Daheq are they THINKING?? Well, right now I'm filing a complaint with the NY State Attorney General's office. I'm disappointed, because I really liked the place despite it being located on a golf course, but it will be a cold day in hell when I'll give any business to a thief again! If anybody decides to eat there, DEMAND an itemized bill, and expect that they WILL try to fleece you.

My Chicken Milanese was excellent on a bed of arugula salad with shaved Parmesan and dried tomatoes. There is an extensive bar menu of wines, beers, cocktails. For dessert, we shared Chocolate Fanache & Lemon Blueberry Cheesecake. It is spotty, but there are young staff and we didn't mind. The atmosphere is surrounded by nature. How can one not like it?

Both occasions were for my Kiwanis activities. The CC is very easy to get to and there is plenty of parking in the [very large] lot. A quick walk over to the main house and then the banquet room. It is a very large room with an amazing outdoor patio designed with beautiful settings for any type of photography. (wedding, prom, sweet 16, etc...) There is also plenty of open wall space in the main room to hang banners, pictures, etc... It was a simple and very nice dining experience buffet style. Grilled chicken or Roast Beef or both. Served with green beans and roasted potatoes. All good! The staff here is wonderful and attentive. Even buffet style the servers always made sure you were good at the table. They refilled glasses and took away dirty dishes quickly. My request for a cup of coffee to go at the end of the night was quick and done with a smile. Overall I just picture that the team and then you here we do a wonderful job for just about any type of event. As a photographer, I would welcome the opportunity to take pictures here. I love this place! The staff was so kind, and while it was BUSY yesterday, people move in and out at a steady clip so we had no problem finding a tee to get set up on. Everything is really well maintained and there's ZERO pretentious vibes, which I really appreciated as a beginner. You don't have to wear a fancy outfit, sneakers are perfectly fine, and there's golfers of all levels and abilities. Really nice! They also offer classes, and I think we're going to take one of their group offerings over the summer. We went with a large bucket to split for $16, and got in about 40 minutes of golf fun. I think the prices are pretty reasonable and I appreciate the large parking lot. A lot of sales inside if you're looking for any kind of gear! Wearables, carts, clubs, AND they do club fittings. The shop itself is a little old school and run down, but so is golf, so it is on brand. I never thought I would find myself interested in golf (my parents are both big golfers) but I actually find myself really enjoying it. I am looking forward to continuing my golf journey and many more trips to Big Oaks in the future!

When I then told the pro shop that I would rather take a rain check for the back nine since we didn't have 6 hours to play golf I was told there was nothing they could do because it wasn't raining. They paired us with two gentlemen around our ages and I thought it would slow us down, but we were all able to play pretty quick. The only reason I'm giving it four stars is that I wish they had some sort of stopper in the cup to keep the ball from going all the way into the hole with COVID going on. Other than that, it's an awesome golf course!

Arrived and paid $45 per player. the…read moreconditions of the course were absolutely horrendous. fairways that haven't been cut, greens weren't cut and when i tell you the rough was at least 8in long, i mean every bit of 8in long. dead clumps of grass everywhere in the rough. there were even 2 holes where the tee box was about 60-70 yards into the fairway in a makeshift tee box whick was also not cut. some people may read this and not care but our group of guys play a different course each week and its just a way to go out and have fun. well its impossible to have fun when you can find your golf ball because the rough is overgrown. Then you got the ranger running around on a power trip telling us to pick the pace up. I then took the liberty to call the manager sunday to leave a voicemail and surprisingly she answered and i expressed my concerns to her (Dawn). She seemed nice and told me she would talk to some people and call me back Monday. Well that didnt happen. i called again today (Tuesday) and left her a voicemail. A few hours later a crotchety old man called back with a piss poor attitude and insisted that i was lying. he stated that out of 160 golfers that played sunday only one other person complained, and his EXACT WORDS were " and he didnt belong playing here anyway". Little did the clown know, i know EXACTLY who he was referring to when he made that statement. Thats another review for another time. Let your imagination run wild with that comment that was made especially this day in age. When i explained all the issues to the man on the phone he insisted i was lying when i told him there was another 2 groups behind our 2 groups that happened to be members of his establishment who apologized to us for the shape the course was in. They even went as far as saying they were completely embarrassed that we were charged full rate fees when the course was not even in a acceptable playing condition. This was all said to us by longtime members while having a quick drink and bite to eat at the bar while we waited for the rest of the group to get done. I told the members its quite shocking to see the course in that poor shape because i have played this course so many times and its number 2 on my favorite courses to play in my area. His exact words " You must be the only one". So after telling the man all of this he still told me i was lying and obviously dont knlw the sport of golf. Then started screaming at me and told me i was a idiot and a moron then hung up on me. So i did what anyone would do and called right back. the man picked up the phone and started screaming again like a toddler and hung up again. Well when all said and done i found out who EXACTLY i was talking to. His name is CHUCK HART the owner of the course. I did a little more research and found out that the woman i first called who will now not return my calls is his poor wife Deb Hart. Did i also mention that the Co-Owner is PGA Tour Pro Dudley Hart. So i guess if you are they type of person who likes being treated exactly like the condition of the course (SHIT) and the type who likes to overpay then this is the place for you. CHUCK HART is a racist piece of trash who holds no class. Karma will find a way to bite him in the ass. I for one will make sure i go above and beyond to to let everyone know what had happened to us and will certainly make sure this establishment is dragged through the mud. There is no place in the world for places like this.

This park is located in Henreitta and is a super clean and nice both dog park and disc golf course. The disc golf course is not a full disc golf course it's only 9 holes and they are par 3 or less for each hole. Making it to be somewhat "easier" of a course. However in my opinion this is an easier course than most bc the disc golf bins are so much closer to you than other parks such as elision. I do like the Elison park more in other respects though. The dog park, I've been to all the dog parks as well. This I also my favorite dog park in Rochester. They have two dog parks in one - one for small dogs and one for large dogs. The small dogs are allowed to go into the large dog area which is much bigger and has a little creek to plY and get extremely dirty in ... the smaller dog park is only for small dogs and has a lot of fun "playgrounds" to do tricks with your dog and no water! So you and your pup won't leave dirty. Both also have doggy fountains and doggy bags to keep the dog park cleans. FYI the disc golf course is public and free to anyone; the dog parks is Monroe county memebership through the libraries in Rochester and need a pass to get into. The pass includes the 4 only "private"dog parks in Rochester and is 20 dollars a year. If you love your dog and your dog loves playing with strangers it's worth it for sure. Happy golfing and dog playing :)
