I love this place! The staff was so kind, and while it was BUSY yesterday, people move in and out at a steady clip so we had no problem finding a tee to get set up on. Everything is really well maintained and there's ZERO pretentious vibes, which I really appreciated as a beginner. You don't have to wear a fancy outfit, sneakers are perfectly fine, and there's golfers of all levels and abilities. Really nice! They also offer classes, and I think we're going to take one of their group offerings over the summer. We went with a large bucket to split for $16, and got in about 40 minutes of golf fun. I think the prices are pretty reasonable and I appreciate the large parking lot. A lot of sales inside if you're looking for any kind of gear! Wearables, carts, clubs, AND they do club fittings. The shop itself is a little old school and run down, but so is golf, so it is on brand. I never thought I would find myself interested in golf (my parents are both big golfers) but I actually find myself really enjoying it. I am looking forward to continuing my golf journey and many more trips to Big Oaks in the future!

You bring your own clubs (and golf balls), and the employees help you get set up with the simulator. It is a great way to practice, or try golfing for the first time. There are four simulators, and you need to make a reservation to play. It's about $45 to rent the simulator for an hour on the weekends, and you can split it between four people. The group of ladies I went with rented it for two hours of play, and it was just the right amount of time. Avid has a bar and grill as well, and high top tables behind the simulators to munch while you play. We ordered the loaded tater tots and a round of beers. I am glad I got to check this place out, and try something new. Avid is a great place to beat the winter blues if you want to get some swings in.

Also didn't tried the food but the place smelled amazing and everything from the menu was reasonably priced. We only saw the bar menu which included mozarella sticks, wraps, among other finger foods. We were trying to go to the range but it's not opened yet so we decided to try their simulator. It was so much fun! Installations were new and very clean.
