My bae lives down by the Gulf and she's my moon, stars, sun, earth, and so on (and satellite lol), so I guess that area is my Gulf Galaxy. This is a pretty popular golf store located in one of the busiest outdoor malls in all of Western New York - or the state probably, ew - so good luck getting in and out of here if you need some golf stuff. My tip (just the tip) is to maybe combine it with the other stores if you want to have a proper Shopping trip and to justify the traffic getting in and out of this area of the city. Parking can sometimes be tricky as well. They do have a lot of expensive and mid price Golf stuff, much of which you can only usually find online (Walmart doesn't carry 80 percent of this crap), and it's a big store but it's also really expensive and you can probably find a lot of this stuff cheaper online or from different brands. So a mixed experience, and a great chance to hang out around the older generations. But then I do that every day at the Y. read more

Very disappointed with this place, I had to order a replacement 6 iron and had spoken with PING they told me it was no problem, just call the retailer and give them the serial # on the club and they will order it. PING also said they had the iron in stock. I called Golf Galaxy and they said they could only order a replacement club from the most recent model of club, I explained to the guy what PING said and he said let me ask my manager , put me on hold for about 5 minutes and came back and said the boss told him no can do, cant order it. I called PING and they gave me another retailer Woods and Wedges , they ordered the club in about 3 minutes , looks like with Golf Galaxy it's upsell or no sale. either that or they just could not be bothered, Just happy that their is another Golf retailer within 20 miles of my home, Woods and Wedges in Williamsville ,N.Y. read more

After several years of just getting out and hitting the ball, this year I dug my heels in. I joined a league and played more on one year than the last 10 combined. It was now time to upgrade the clubs from 1999! The whole fitting process is 100% worth it if you're going to play the game. Ross was amazing; intuitive, wise, and accurate. He defined my swing, picked the clubs and I'm hitting 50 yards further just in the hour of trying them out. He had me hit without knowing the club, or price and sure enough, I hit best with a fabulous barely used senior men's set of irons than the new higher end club, and even the an expensive hybrid I had just bought online last week. It was so much fun to hit stronger, faster and FARTHER! Ross is a tremendous asset to Golf Galaxy and knows his stuff thoroughly well! I highly recommend! read more

Really disappointing experience. Nearly every employee my fiancé and I came into contact with seemed less than enthused to be talking to us- they were visibly annoyed. One employee was painfully rude to us. No name tag but bald with a green shirt and big belly. When asked for help to find a new shaft he barely conversed with my fiancé'- answered every question curtly and then proceeded to follow us around the store? Not in a helpful or polite way- like he wanted us to know he was watching us. Really weird. At one point I walked near the front part of the store and he made a point to try and "correct me" by telling me that I need to exit elsewhere.. when I wasn't even trying to exit the store at all. We travel 30 mins to come to golf galaxy because there aren't any other stores in the area so this experience is really frustrating. Do better. read more

I'd just like to preface this by saying that I've been to this place like 10-15 times at least. I give them a chance over and over again, but I'm always disappointed. I'm also not someone who complains just for the sake of complaining, but I'm just... confused? Every time you walk into this place, the staff greets you immediately. Great! It would be great, but they then proceeded to just stare at you. Once you awkwardly tell them what you want, they look at you like you're an idiot and then halfway direct you where you're supposed to go and proceed to carry on with their conversations. I got my wife fitted for clubs. The dude was nice and did a fine job (which is the only reason this place got 2 stars), but when it was over we didn't get anything in writing guiding us on clubs to look at, didn't even get pitched on a set he thought we'd like. I was so confused. I had to remember myself what length, etc., that my wife required. Not to mention they charge almost $90 for fitting, which can be applied to a club or clubs, but that barely makes a dent in their massively overpriced selection, about 0.1% of which was appropriate for women. I would've loved to know if they sold individual shafts, but they disappeared as soon as we said we were going to look around. I could go on and on, but this place is the worst. I'd almost rather the employees just act rudely than what they do. They're all early 20-somethings who truly just couldn't care less about you as a customer even if you want to spend money. (Hint: we could've easily been sold on a brand new set of irons and a driver). Look elsewhere for anything golf-related. read more

Golf Galaxy will always hold a great place in my heart. They have a great selection of clubs, gear, clothes, and anything your heart would desire for the game of golf. The last time I was there I wanted to get a new driver, and I worked with Taylor and he was fantastic. It was a quieter day in the store so he took the time to work with me to find what I needed. I tried different drivers, and the one I thought I would like wasn't the right one. He helped me make the choice even easier by coaching me, and showing me a lot of different options. He was very focused on helping me, and willing to guide me through the process. Needless to say I picked up the driver and I am excited to get out and use it. The store is always super clean, and the employees are all super helpful and friendly. Anytime I need anything whether it be for myself or someone else for a gift, this is the place I go. It is hard to walk in and not spend money, but for me I am always heading there in the need of something, be it balls to replace the ones I have lost, more tees, or even a new club. I feel like the customer service could be so much better. I can't speak for all but most of the workers here act like they're too good to help you out if you're just browsing. Only show interest when you're looking to buy, and then they try and sell you on other products that they probably get a higher commission on. For once I'd like someone to actually look out for my best interests instead of the company... Very sad because I like shopping here, but I will do my shopping online from now on. They really do have "everything for the game." This is where I go to get outfitted in sporty little golf outfits. You can test-drive new clubs in 1 of the 2 indoor driving range booths. Sometimes I have to wait a bit longer than appropriate if there are too many guys hanging around--what? women don't golf? I also don't like the creepy old man golfers that watch me swing my clubs. This is the ultimate store for those who are looking for anything to do with golf. They offer club fitting and the staff is very knowledgeable. I wish that they had Big Man sizes in clothes. As most other specialty stores in WNY it is hard to find sizes in 42 - 44 inch waist with inseams of 32+ inches. Not everyone in WNY is heavy with an inseam of 28 inches. read more

I was in the market for a new set of irons, as I'd picked up golf a few years ago and was still using an old hand-me-down set. When I walked into Golf Galaxy, it seemed that everyone was eager to help. I was immediately approached by a young salesman but told him I was just browsing and I would let him know if I needed anything. While looking at the iron selection, another older salesman approached me and asked if he could help me find anything. I told him I was looking for a set of irons around $400-$500 to which he smirked and told me "Oh I don't think we have anything that cheap here". Thinking that was odd, I continued to browse and saw 10-12 sets of irons that were in my price range. If I had to pick anything that Golf Galaxy does right, I'd say they have a very wide selection of clubs. I was ready to leave at this point and take my business elsewhere, but figured I'd give them the benefit of the doubt. I approached the "General Manager" and asked if he could tell me how their fitting process worked. He spent a few minutes with me and let me hit some different clubs in their simulator. The entire time he acted like I was inconveniencing him and gave me short, unhelpful answers to the few questions I had. (Mind you the store was not busy and I may have been the only one in there). He even told me I used an improper grip and said that getting my clubs fitted would be useless because of it. I left without buying anything. I'd recommend you go somewhere else for your golf needs. I went to a couple Dick's Sporting Goods locations and also the Wherle Golf Dome. I'd recommend any of these other options as the staff was very friendly and helpful, taking the time to teach me about the different types of clubs and making their own recommendations. Brought in my new Taylormade clubs to get a one inch extension installed on all my irons. The first guy I spoke to was mad that I came in at 7:15 even though I called ahead to ensure that would be okay and was told it would be. The same guy could be heard complaining to another staff that I came in with clubs I bought "online" to be measured for extensions and said "yea at 730". I was in earshot still so I said well it's 715 and I called ahead and was told that would be fine. The staff who was complaining walked away never to be seen or heard again. The second guy I spoke with was great. This staff person was friendly, informative, and pleasant. This was Tuesday September 8th and I was told I could pick my clubs up Friday September 11th. Friday i did pick up my clubs and they were in a sealed bag so I put them in the truck and headed home. I got home only to find EVERY club had overflow adhesive down every shaft. It took me 20 minutes to clean up the shafts and remove the excess adhesive. In addition keep in mind these are brand new clubs, one of the shaft labels on one iron was peeling off and curled up. I ended up having to take that label off entirely. I'm not sure if the golf galaxy staff who worked on my clubs was just careless, inexperienced, or did this on purpose because I bought my new clubs online but I spent 150 bucks for extensions and to reuse my grips because they were brand new and I would have expected better service. I just ordered a matching sand wedge but will be going somewhere else for the extension for the club. I will never do business with golf galaxy again. Customer service at this Niagara Falls Blvd location is a joke. read more

this review is not for this store location but it is for the CUSTOMER SERVICE center for Golf Galaxy. I had purchased personalized golf balls for my husband for fathers day and i chose to have it shipped in 2 days - I paid an extra 15 bucks for this! i called yesterday as they were not shipped. i spoke with a girl named Whitney who was rude, unapologetic, and said there was nothing she could and they would arrive after fathers day. I then spoke with a Supervisor names Anthony who again was awful. I had asked to cancel my order and he said i was not allowed, i said that i wanted to be fully refunded and he told me no because they were a personalized item. I explained to him that i chose the quicker shipping and he said that seeing it was personalized the shipping will be long...WHY DOES IT NOT STATE THAT ON THE WEBSITE AND WHY WAS I AM TO CHOOSE ANOTHER FORM OF SHIPPING. I then proceeded to tell him that i will be calling higher than him and he said well you wont be able to talk to anyone higher than me i'm the highest. i told him he better believe that i will talk to someone higher, i said your just a supervisor. He continued to argue with me the entire call. The best they said they could do was call after i receive the item and they will refund me my 15 bucks. They are an awful company to buy from. i will inform everyone i know not shop there and it is really said that they are DICKS sporting good store because they are a good company. Whitney and Andrew should be ashamed of themselves and how they handled the situation. This is not over and I will speak to someone higher up to just inform them of the employees that they have working for them. read more
