This indoor dog park has lots of room for dogs to just RUN, and has some agility equipment for those on the more athletic side. Kris, the owner, made sure this place was clean and pristine for our playtime there, and she remained on site and engaged with our dog Lucy the entire time. Woofs has a separate play area for smaller dogs as well, so when size matters to your furbaby, they can be assured that they'll feel safe and sound playing without the worry of being overwhelmed by larger dogs. Recently, with the canine flu going around, Woofs took some time to evaluate how to keep the doggos safe and healthy. Ultimately Woofs modeled some COVID best practices and we ended up with a private playtime for just our dog. Kris cleans between scheduled playtimes to ensure a clean and safe play area. I know several doggy day care places that don't take these precautions - it's definitely a hit to the "bottom line," but I fully appreciate the care that Woofs has taken to provide a safe, healthy, and holistic play alternative to dogs of all sizes, especially on inclement weather days. Woofs even has some exercise equipment (stationery cycles, and treadmills) that allow owners to get a workout in while overseeing their dog in the play area, if they so desire. The park is open daily from 7:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. (normal hours for most trails around here) Pets are allowed, but must be on a leash. People are really good about this, as well as the carry in carry out policy. Love all the wildlife I've seen here, lot's of deer walking through the area... and even across the trail. During Autumn it's breathtakingly beautiful and if you want to experience it all during one day I'm sure biking would be doable. Now if you keep going instead of veering off to Rush, which is gorgeous during the Fall, you will end up at some kind of junction for the Lehigh Valley Trail, which basically has a mini-museum about trains. The east-west part of the trail has a number of bridges which are interesting, but mainly worth while of either you're a history buff or you're like me and enjoy having a sense of continuity with your running adventures. There is also a stretch of trail that runs from Genesee Valley Park to right before the RIT Barnes & Noble, and that one is okay. I really wish that part of the trail connected all the way to the one near Veterans Memorial Park, but what can you do.

We arrived at ~10am on a Tuesday morning and saw one other dog there with her owner. A couple more arrived in the thirty mins or so. There is some grass area and some sand/gravel. The water at the park was off. The locals seemed to think the licences were required as a means to charge park goers for use of the park. I called the number listed on the gate to ask about the licence requirement (as I haven't come across this in any other state). I was wondering if there had been a lot of dog fights in order to merit the licence (as they check to make sure your dog has had all their vaccinations including rabies). I was informed that this is a pilot project and they just wanted to make sure the dogs who played there belonged to responsible owners.

Picnics tables are strewn about all over the place, it has a little pond, a gazebo, baseball diamonds (I counted at least four), a place to play soccer, and ice hockey too, when it's in season, and disc golf! WOW! And it's all in impeccable shape. I definitely plan to come here in the future when the splash pad is actually up and running (I hear they turn the water on around Memorial Day)!
