Cameron field, where baseball, softball and other field games gather and "The Baird center" which is where all of the community and recreation affairs can be handled such as registering for youth team sports and tennis lessons. I have many memories of this park where much goes on in the spring and summer including hosting festivals and used to host 4th of July festivities. Still a great place to pass through and the most sprawled and varied park in town.

Parents bring their kids often, so as soon at that opened it was getting a lot of use. There is a wide-open area for soccer. In the back corner there is a little dog park. On the other part of the park there less open field as there is a little Brook that runs through it. There is a small track, basketball court and a recently built mini water park with fountains that gets a lot of use in the summer. The park is nice for walking through. There aren't a whole lot of benches on the Glenwood ave. part so it isn't the best for people watching but more for a nice stroll. Even on the nicest days it isn't too crowded except for maybe the court and soccer field.

The plaque says that it's a gift to the City of New York from an interested citizen. What a nice and generous thing to do if you have the means. It's a lot bigger than it appears. I walked from the West Side where I took a photo of the first sign to the East Side where I found a sign that said Pinetum East. There's one small area with picnic tables and then on the East Side a large picnic area. The space called the playground is swings and I saw adults doing exercises near a bar used for chin ups. I remember I never could do those pull ups when required in school. There's plenty of benches in the pines to sit peacefully. The trees are beautiful. I really enjoyed visiting this location today. I think it's a great place to meet friends for a picnic some day!

Here's my go to place being a baseball coach. Fields are always taken care of and everything is…read moregenerally clean. Safe place to go for a walk or jog, especially on the newly turfed facility. Only downfall is the turf baseball field is always locked unless you pay for a permit. Being that I'm pretty sure tax dollars built and upkeep this park, it's a shame a father and son can't enjoy the turf baseball field to get some hitting in or even just to play catch. It also helps that I've been coaching so long, I know all the spots in case the main fields are claimed.

I am extremely displeased with the dog safety in this park in general not the fenced in dog park…read morearea. I take my dog to this park daily and there has been multiple instances where dogs are off leashes running the field and the owners don't have control. Last night I was walking my dog and she was attacked by another dog that wasn't leashed came up behind us and went after my dog. Luckily my dog wasn't injured badly because I was able to pick her up before the other dog got to her further. I told the owner of the dog to put her dog on a leash where she then spoke vulgarity back to me and threatened me. There are signs in this park stating they should be leashed unless in the dog park area yet no one follows it. I'm extremely disappointed that my dog had to endure pain because of the negligence of the owners. I am hoping that the town will look into this further and push for owners to have their dogs leashed no matter what. No matter how well trained your dog is you don't know what can happen and as a dog owner you need to protect them as well as other dogs nearby by leashing them. I hope the town will do better by enforcing the dog on leashes as they are posted on the grounds entering and exiting this park.
