The pond and paved walkways are easy to explore. There are workout stations everywhere and there is tons of parking. I saw a swan hanging out with ducks when I was there. They stock the pond with fish, just make sure you have a license. I wish it wasn't so littered and that most of it was something other than alcohol containers and cogar wrappers. read more

Visited this park today to play a game of Cricket and was amazed by its sprawling beauty and cleanliness. The park is so huge that it'll take forever to cover the whole park by a walk. This place also has few paddle boats on a small lake and adequately available washrooms for use. I was truly amazed by the well-spaced trees and the overall greenery. The park has lot of baseball, soccer fields and parking spaces. Learnt from Google reviews that this is a must visit during Spring for its cherry blossoms and the ice skating rink during winters - something to look forward in my future visits. read more

I used to live in the area a few years ago and wish I came more often. On those previous occasions I've walked the trails, had picnics, and enjoyed the pedal boats. Each time I had a great experience, the park was clean and people around were having a good time. This experience was no different. We decided to have a social distance picnic and although there were a lot of people at the park, there were so many areas to hang out while still social distancing from others. We found parking as there were many options and the grassy areas were vast! Although picnic tables are a hot commodity, if you have beach chairs, and your own foldable table, you were fine. Also the vast amount of trees were really helpful in providing shade because I believe it was day one of a heat wave. As I said before there were others having picnics and their music selection was thoroughly entertaining and definitely enhanced our day (thanks to those people lol). Will definitely come by the park again when the opportunity presents itself. Will for sure utilize more of the park such as the skating rink, bbq, fishing, and pedal boats. read more

There's so much to do here; everything from tennis courts, basketball courts, soccer fields, running tracks and punching bag station to paddle boats, fishing, sledding, sprinklers and playgrounds. I have many friends who think New Jersey is nothing but a toxic waste dump, but the fact of the matter is the "Green State" does have many nice parks. Unlike Manhattan's Central Park, which is a grandiose and amazing marvel of engineering, many of the parks in my area of Union County are rather modest in comparison, but that doesn't make them any less cool to spend time in. Warinanco Park is a nicely sized park that actually borders a couple towns (Roselle on one side, Elizabeth on the other). I tend to enter on the Elizabeth side where there's a giant pond in the center. It's an absolutely beautiful sight in the summer. Also, you can paddleboat in the pond at $10 per person! Geese and ducks alike hang out there, adding to its ambience. The pond itself is surrounded by a running course. At key points throughout the course there are twelve (maybe thirteen) stations for you to perform exercises ranging from basic stretches to metal bars you can hop over. The most popular (and populatED) is the pull up bar station, where guys apparently spend hours doing nothing but pull ups (seriously, I've seen guys stay there for two hours). Sprinkled elsewhere in the park are newly installed benches (as of summer 2012) and patches of grass to hang out on. Many families come and fish in the pond (though I've never actually seen what they catch). There are also barbecue grills in key areas in the park, but they get taken over quick! There's more to the park too. Large flowers bloom on a series of trees in early summer (making it a favorite spot for wedding photos) and there are fields large enough for soccer games. There are children's jungle gyms of course. The park is a short walk from the downtown shopping are of Elizabeth (Elmora Avenue) and on another side is the Colisseum Diner, making it extra convenient! I love this park and feel very lucky to be so close to it. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. read more

I love a park you can get lost in; not big enough to actually get lost, but just enough to where you can be secluded from other people and relax. This is Warinanco. I really appreciate how well-kept it is. This area of New Jersey isn't really known for its stellar landscaping, but Warinanco is a great escape from the honking horns and neon lights. I come to play catch or take a walk here, but there are plenty of other things to do; playgrounds, outdoor gyms, paddle boats and ponds, hilly areas, open grassy fields. There are also bathrooms, which doesn't sound like a big deal but trust me, it is! Warinanco is beautlful--definitely good as it gets! read more

Playgrounds, paddle boats, BEAUTIFUL gardens, ice skating, biking, cookouts... etc!!! I mean this park in one of Union County's greatest assets. And ya know what?? I live half a block away from it! Warinanco Park is just so awesome. My kids play baseball here, I bring them here to play on the playgrounds and sprinklers in the summer. We bring our dog here and let her play. Me and my hub take walks here and sit by the garden. In the spring you can do your little fishing, go no the paddle boats, ave a little picnic. In the summer you can get your permit and have an all out COOKOUT BAYBAY!! I love, love waking up in the summer and already smelling the BBQ in the park! Such a past time if you're from here. The sprinklers are on, the playgrounds are packed, people balling up! One of my favorite places in the world guys. There is a full bike path going all through the park, a separate track for all my runners and walkers that just want to focus. There are stop n go workout stations. This is free fun all year round ya'll! In the fall the park is like a rainbow. There are so many trees shedding their leaves its like a postcard. People are in their sweaters and walking the dogs. The kids are getting their last bit of fun from the playgrounds before it gets too cold. Then, thennnn... the Winter! You know what that means? Yup, ice skating! We got ice skating at an affordable cost. You walk in and there is a good old fashioned fire going. The hot chocolate is a must! When you live in an urban area you are surrounded by so many different people. But the one thing about a good park is it makes everyone happy. Nobody needs to be rich to go, and in a park on a playground all kids are the same. This is a very safe county park. The county police have a stop off right before the exit/entrance where they get their gas so there are always so many cops in the park. I love this park! I have to say this park is really pretty and well kept! There's paddle boats and ice skating and the bathrooms are immaculate! With that being said, it's really in a not so great neighborhood and I don't know that I would be comfortable going alone with my child, I was with a big group for a bbq. read more

Pretty cool park! My company had an Employee appreciation day BBQ here on Thursday and I had a great time. I drove in from the Airport, so it wasn't that bad to get to from 1-9, but I can see how it may be a crazy time to get here from other areas. Park is VERY big and has softball fields, Basketball hoops, play areas for the kiddo's.. Just a lot to do and a great place to have a family or corporate outing. Getting out takes some time as all the roads are one way, so you may drive in on one end, and take the grand tour around the entire park to get out. read more

Truly a wonderful park, aside from being huge and easy to get lost in. It has a lot of great amenities - ice skating, large soccer/football field with what feels to be a brand new track. I grew up in this area and have since left but now am back for my job. As a kid it's always just been a large park to play at, kind of littered with garbage at times. Unfortunately, I've seen homeless people peeing here on a summer walk. Not exactly where I'd wanna be after dark. read more
