    An amazingly lovely day!
    Jody S.

I used to live in the area a few years ago and wish I came more often. On those previous occasions I've walked the trails, had picnics, and enjoyed the pedal boats. Each time I had a great experience, the park was clean and people around were having a good time. This experience was no different. We decided to have a social distance picnic and although there were a lot of people at the park, there were so many areas to hang out while still social distancing from others. We found parking as there were many options and the grassy areas were vast! Although picnic tables are a hot commodity, if you have beach chairs, and your own foldable table, you were fine. Also the vast amount of trees were really helpful in providing shade because I believe it was day one of a heat wave. As I said before there were others having picnics and their music selection was thoroughly entertaining and definitely enhanced our day (thanks to those people lol). Will definitely come by the park again when the opportunity presents itself. Will for sure utilize more of the park such as the skating rink, bbq, fishing, and pedal boats.

This park is so easy and convenient to get to. It has everything you need for days when you can't get to a gym, like today. I didn't touch anything fyi...gotta be safe. The park is a good size with multiple entraces and exits all around. There is also a track, different kids areas, ice rink and sports center. I enjoying running my two miles whenever I go.

Warinanco Park...oh the memories. I love this park. It has everything you need in a park plus some. Great for a day of exercising. They have basketball courts, tennis courts, an ice skating rink, and many playgrounds. In the summer time, you'll see a lot of cookouts happening. **Cops are constantly partrolling the area....mainly for speed violators so be careful driving through.**

Playgrounds, paddle boats, BEAUTIFUL gardens, ice skating, biking, cookouts... etc!!! I mean this park in one of Union County's greatest assets. And ya know what?? I live half a block away from it! Warinanco Park is just so awesome. My kids play baseball here, I bring them here to play on the playgrounds and sprinklers in the summer. We bring our dog here and let her play. Me and my hub take walks here and sit by the garden. In the spring you can do your little fishing, go no the paddle boats, ave a little picnic. In the summer you can get your permit and have an all out COOKOUT BAYBAY!! I love, love waking up in the summer and already smelling the BBQ in the park! Such a past time if you're from here. The sprinklers are on, the playgrounds are packed, people balling up! One of my favorite places in the world guys. There is a full bike path going all through the park, a separate track for all my runners and walkers that just want to focus. There are stop n go workout stations. This is free fun all year round ya'll! In the fall the park is like a rainbow. There are so many trees shedding their leaves its like a postcard. People are in their sweaters and walking the dogs. The kids are getting their last bit of fun from the playgrounds before it gets too cold. Then, thennnn... the Winter! You know what that means? Yup, ice skating! We got ice skating at an affordable cost. You walk in and there is a good old fashioned fire going. The hot chocolate is a must! When you live in an urban area you are surrounded by so many different people. But the one thing about a good park is it makes everyone happy. Nobody needs to be rich to go, and in a park on a playground all kids are the same. This is a very safe county park. The county police have a stop off right before the exit/entrance where they get their gas so there are always so many cops in the park. I love this park! I can't wait to post some of my own prized photos of this park!

Ask the Community - Warinanco Park

Are there any outlets at the picnic areas or boat houses? I'm having an event and would like to have a dj.

When I reserved a spot at the park we were told explicitly no speakers allowed. I would recommend checking with the parks department to be sure.

I am also so happy that Wheeler park welcomes everyone from all over NJ (and elsewhere). Coming from out of the county will cost you a bit more, but not much. If you live outside of Union County it is $4.00 for kids ($2.00 in county) and $6.00 for adults ($3.00 in county). This splash pad has every water feature a kid could ever need - from bigger twisty water slides, to a small dragon water slide. Also, water guns that you can shoot each other with, a pirate boat, water shooting up from the ground, and much more. My kids spent a little over 2 hours here and had an absolute blast. We've been here about 3 times and it never disappoints. Just be sure to bring some sort of shade covering. There isn't much cover at the splash pad so we usually bring our small beach tent with us. There is also a dry playground in the splash pad gated area where kids can play too. They have staff who help keep the kids safe and to make sure everyone goes down the water slides safe and sound. I highly recommend Wheeler Spray Park on a hot summer day.

What a moving tribute for those who prematurely lost their lives. This is a must-visit spot in NYC,…read moreeven if you aren't visiting the 9/11 museum next door. We had young kids who likely wouldn't understand or respect the solemn nature and gravity of 9/11, so we skipped the museum this time but talked to them about 9/11 at the free memorial park outside. I like that a flower is placed on the memorial plaques near the names of those who would have been celebrating their birthday, had they survived that fateful day. In addition to the names of those who died on 9/11 on the planes, Pentagon, and in the towers, they also memorialized those who died in the 1993 bombing. The two memorial pools (where each of the towers stood) are meant to represent visual absence of those lost, with the designing architect having two dropped voids of 20+ feet circulating water downward. He intended to convey that the voids can never be filled although the water-AKA life-still flows onward. Beautiful memorial and park. Lots of shade trees and benches for thoughtful reflection.

It would have been nice to have the option to sit in the garden, or even have some group photos taken somewhere other than the gift shop and parking lot. I think a few things could have been done to elevate the experience, for instance offering some refreshments or seating in the garden instead of waiting in the gift shop for enough people for the tour to start. If you're at all interested in this era it's worth trying for $16

I had the opportunity to visit the Liberty Hall Museum for a Yelp Elite Event…read more This place is so beautiful and is sort of hidden within the Kean University campus, not sure if that's intentional, but I love it. I was able to visit the mansion and was fascinated by the history behind it. As I enter one of the dinning room, I notice it was decorated for a young boy's birthday/Halloween party. Later on I found out from one of the tour guide that the little boy's birthday party was around Halloween in 1930. Haha! He's 86 years old and the decoration that was used in 1930 was the same decoration displayed today in that dinning room - please check my picture out. Now that's amazing! The rest of the mansion and museum is indeed historical and tells a special story. As I made my way into the British garden I was wowed. The garden is picture perfect and is well maintained. For those planning on having an outdoor and well reserved wedding, I'd recommend this place. For my fellow New Yorkers that don't drive. It's convenient to get to Liberty Hall Museum with the N113 bus from Port Authority! It's beautiful to visit during the fall!
