This place is an absolute scam. Zero chance it will be around in the next 5 years. Bought 4 ceiling fans, 11 outside lights and 4 outside post lights from these guys. First ceiling fan installed thing wobbles at speed 2 out of 6. Spent 3 hours messing with it and zero improvement. All you get from these guys is "call the MFG". Well I did and the MFG said to exchange it. These guys then say "do you have the original box?". No I don't. I have no box and apparently a junk ceiling fan for $600. Then I goto install the 4 post lights. Well the post lights come with wood screws. I go back to them and say I need a post pier that can mount to granite posts. They provide me with a Hinkely pier mount but was $89 cause it comes with adhesive... wrong. I bought the same pier mount from the MFG for $29 and went to Home Depot for adhesive for $10. Installed the piers and the lights can't be mounted to the pier they recommend... I go to the store to get a refund. I now have 11 lights mounted to my house that match the posts that I can't install. Andy who's a sales representative but also the secret back end face of light n leisure processes the refund. Slides the paper in front of me and asks me to sign it. I did and left. My wife stayed in the store looking at other lights an. Alls me and says "that was a store credit". I went back to the store and she was correct. They "submitted for a refund" to the customer concerns department. Well I said that's BS cause you refunded me before on my card. I said I'm not leaving till I have a refund. I want the customer service number. Andy gives me the customer service number and I call it right in the store on speaker phone. The number goes straight to VM. It's Andy's voice on the voice mail saying "hi this is Corky, you've reached the customer care department" I looked at Andy and said is this real life? You gave me your cell phone that goes straight to voicemail and your claiming your name is corky? Come to find out their is no managers. The owner is William Greenberg. More than likely it's Andy but he's faking like he's an employee and multiple employees at that. STAY CLEAR OF THIS PLACE. Goto a real electrical whole sale store like Ferguson read more

As you can see from the reply to my comment by Donna from Light and Leisure they are throwing excuses for not stepping up for a customer 50% refund for a brand new fan we paid $550? That is not stepping up. A simple exchange for the gray color would have been the right thing to do. Reader, please take note of the many other bad reviews for this business. We had also contacted customer service about the issue, as mentioned in other bad reviews, customer service NEVER returned our call. Take my advice and the advice of other unhappy customers ... STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!! I've been in the trades for thirty plus years. I picked up a $200 vanity fixture for a customer. One of the globes is cracked. I stopped in to exchanged the cracked globe for a new one. Any of the supplies houses I've dealt with over the years. Would take the globe out of a new fixture box. Give it to me and send me on my way. Not this place. They tell me sorry!!! Give me a card to call customer service. I've called Corky at least 15 times over the course of the week. Light and leisure? More like dark and gloomy... because that's how your experience at this hella purple establishment will be for your lighting needs. This place offers absolutely nothing besides a headache. There's a shitbox purple truck outside the place that looks like it hasn't moved since the Clinton administration was in office. The people working there are a bunch of dopes who look and sound like they smoke dope. I ordered a part there for my chandelier and they charged my credit card. After looking at ceiling fans and lights from many different stores on July 10, 2017 my husband and I went to LnL to see about some ceiling fans and lights. We walked in and after a few minutes a sales rep greeted us nicely with a smile. She briefly told us the floor plan and said call her if we needed help. As we walked around we saw some of the items we were looking for, for a long time. We spoke to the sales rep whose name was Beverly. She was very informative as she helped us to make an even better chose. She was very professional, knowledgeable about the items at hand, very helpful and friendly. We had such a great experience at Light n Leisure Milford! From the helpful phone call, to the in-store assistance, Ryan W. made purchasing a Minka Aire ceiling fan easy. The fan was ordered on a Saturday and was available for pickup by Thursday. Ryan even helped me load the fan into my car when I came to pick it up with my toddler. Light n Leisure is a preferred retailer for Minka Aire and their prices blew the local home improvement store's out if the water. We will definitely be coming back. Beth, Actually referring to the unwillingness of the sales folk at Light and Leisure to help make a sale happen. In addition, the customer service "department" at Light and Leisure is only available to their sales people to talk with and not their customers. I found that very odd. The Groupon vouchers that you are referring to were purchased from different Groupon accounts. No worries though. We are extremely satisfied with our purchase from Lowes lighting department. The selection of lights and fans is impressive, and Ryan was very pleasant: nearby but not hovering, making suggestions but not pushy at all. He guided us in self-discovery until we found just what we wanted. I walked in and no one even said hello as the entire store was empty and I walked by three employees working. Don't waste your time here. I ordered 2 lamps (which took over an hour for them to process - wicked slow!), then I canceled the order immediately when they wouldnt work in the area. They charged me a restocking fee and wouldnt credit me the $18 fee, even though the items were never shipped. Total Rip OFF! I had also ordered 2 pendant lamps and 1 is crooked. No wonder they are going out of business. Their Customer Service is horrible and take forever to get back to you or answer any questions. Ten minutes before closing on a brisk December Friday evening, we showed up. No one made noises to chase us out or beg for their weekend to begin. Instead, not one but two salespeople stood patiently by, letting my daughter and me take our time to choose an eight foot track lighting fixture as well as two vanity light sets. Helen and Gary were the soul of good service, care, and kindness. They stayed over half an hour late to help us make our purchase, accepting a complex online coupon we'd brought and writing up a hard copy slip. The discounts were substantial (some floor samples were 70% off for discontinued items, hence we saw a track light set for $70, which is a great price). We were invited to bring any merchandise back for store credit if it didn't work out. The lighting selection is good (although my husband and I prefer to buy our fans online), the prices can be great. They have sconces, pendants, lamps, you name it. If you allow extra time, floor samples can be detached and packaged up at a substantial savings. Love this place, even despite the 45 minute trek from our home. Will go back again soon. read more

My wife and I are remodeling an older house and needed fixtures for almost the entire house but we are also over budget, so saving money is important, without sacrificing quality. We had done business years ago at Light 'N Leisure at their original HQ in Stoughton and hadn't found a local lighting store we had liked since they closed that location. A few weeks ago, we went out to the Milford store and were thoroughly impressed by both the service (Robert M was amazing and very very patient) and the selection and we were able to get great products (some that were very functional and some that were quite unusual and fun) at very competitive prices. Won't go to another lighting store - they have all of my business. Note - I am quite surprised by the negative reviews on Yelp. We were there on a Saturday and were greeted immediately but no one hovered and while Robert M was our primary person, I have spoken to others there and everybody has been super helpful. read more

I've never rated an experience a one star - until now. Very simply, we were returning customers who came in to look to update 4 chandeliers. The ceiling fan we had purchased about a year ago was a good purchase. Also a good customer experience. So we returned to the Milford store to look at replacement chandeliers. The store did not have customers in it when we arrived. A very nice sales woman came over to help. She was very responsive and helpful. We looked at several lights, one of which I took a picture to see how it would look in our home. After about 15 minutes working with the sales woman we went off on our own to look at a few more lights in the store. We had some questions so we returned to the sales desk. The sales woman who had helped us, plus a gentleman and a second woman were in a glassed in office. I called into the office asking if someone could answer a few more questions. The gentleman came out of the office. He answered the question, then immediately returned to the office. Five minutes later we had another question. I again called into the office. The gentleman came out, as if I was bothering him. I asked him if I was interrupting a staff meeting because he didn't seem to want to work with us (and we still the only customer in the store). He said 'are you going to buy a light today'? Strange question to ask I thought. I said I wasn't sure - we were looking. It was clear he had no intention of waiting on me if I wasn't intending to buy that day. With arrogance and rudeness he said in this business people come into the store, asked lots of questions, take pictures, and then go make the purchase somewhere else. He had no interest in assisting those customers. So if I wasn't going to purchase today, he wasn't going to spend time with me. I told him I wasn't someone off the street, I was a returning customer. It didn't matter to him. He continued to ask me if I was going to make a purchase today. I asked him his name and position, which he would not give me. I still do not know who he was. Needless to say, we walked out of the store, and will never return. While the initial experience with the sales woman was fine, the experience once the gentleman took over was as poor as they come. I can't believe he refused to work with us. He totally alienated an existing customer, a customer he has now lost forever. Interestingly, in place of telling me his name and/or position, he gave me a card with a customer care number on it to call. I was initially puzzled at how a store that sells lights could get an average two star score. It was by far the worst customer service experience in my life. Despite being the only customers in the store, the sales staff would not make any efforts to assist us and was completely clueless when we asked questions, sometimes just refusing to help us at all. One salesman didn't even know where the flush mount lights were in a 30ft by 30 ft store. I asked to buy a light with 30 minutes before close and the salesman asked if I could come back the next day so he wouldn't have to take down the display light near closing time. I finally left despite seeing a fixture I would have liked because it was simply too difficult to deal with them so I gave up. read more

My husband and I visited the Milford Ma store today. This was our first visit here after visiting several other lighting stores in the greater Boston area. We had the pleasure of working with a lighting consultant by the name of Robert M. Robert is a knowledgeable, professional individual. He acknowledged us from the beginning, something my husband always says is such an important act in a service industry. He was low key and did not put a hard sell on us. It was a pleasure working with him. Even though my husband and I are such opposites he kept the entire time searching in the store, lighthearted and enjoyable. He listened, offered suggestions let my husband and I discuss what was the customer's to discuss and interjected opinion when invited by us . Most important he knew the merchandise and was efficient, friendly and totally service oriented. We bought a front hall hanging fixture and a beautiful piece for the dining table. We have done business with Light n' Leisure many times before and been very happy but something has changed. The sales person we dealt with was unenthusiastic and grudgingly waited on us even though the store was empty. He did send us a quote later that evening. When we tried to use the AMAZON local coupon we had purchased, the store refused to honor it but never really explained why. The coupon offering specifically stated it was good to use with other promotions. Our order was not a special promotion. When we asked to speak to a manager, was told "there is no manager here." We were given a phone # for customer service but no one answers the phone. You have to leave your email address on the voicemail and wait for someone to get back to you. Really??? When asked who the owner was, we were told "we can't give out that information." We have not heard back from customer service. We called AMAZON and got our money refunded. I will NEVER do business with this store again. read more
